Ooh, by the way, Four. Is Season 10 / 11 a good enough time to do Phases? And have you finished PizzaWitch?
EDIT: Actually, seems you did finish PW since your level is 150, not 135. Nevermind on that part,

I think we need a Twitter thread over in the Anime subforum.

Warning: gaming jargon aheadDepends how much of a masochist you are. I've known people who do phases at Season 5. Anyway, I fought them all at Season 10. I think that's the generally accepted "good time to start." Having the Legacy bloodline is vital, though, especially with the tougher ones. You can forget about draining 11tails without it.

I am S10 Legacy, so yay for that.
How much did you have in terms of Perms / Kaiju Drops before you attempted it?

A lot, but phase fights measure your Drain ability, so most of them won't help you, and the ones that do, you can probably live without (except the perms you acquire from the fields). In fact, I didn't get my Pink Skull until after I was basically done with R00t. With phase fights, most of your help will come from village upgrades, teams and daily bonuses. Sporty Lvl 2 and Smokey Lvl 2 (for Detective Duo bonus), and Doughman Lvl 2 (for bit shop access) should be priorities if you don't have them already. Ditto for Twilight Guardian. If you can, have some Mahjong XP and storm favors saved up in case you need an emergency extra life. And once you've gotten some Lost Weapons (it won't be right away), get your bonuses for those from the appropriate field as soon as possible (You need 6 for Stalkergirl Lvl 3; her team bonus is helpful for those extra life emergencies. Ugh, still haven't gotten too far in R00t yet because of those D45S45 thingamabobs. Have to recompile some more.
I do have plenty of storm favors, thankfully. Around 60 or so.
I'm trying to buy an Over 11000 first, so I've been doing a shitload of farming.

Over11k... one more thing I've waited way too long on. That and Out on Top, but I doubt I'll have a snowball's chance at getting that this late in the game. :/

I got Out on Top right before I looped for the first time.
Ugh, spent so much fuckin' ryo that day on Party Room and wasted so many Smokebombs to get the +Stamina missions. And this was Season 1, so no MegaMissions to help things along faster. Made much worse by the fact that I intended to get the Mo' Money Trophy even though I could've gotten that anytime.
For Out on Top, you could try abusing the Special Jonin rankings, which I did for a few of my Golden Items before I realized it was easier to simply farm Proof Reader's Storybook Pages.
I believe it went as such.
> Stay as Special Jonin and don't go up to Jonin. > Do the highest missions available in terms of ranking. > Maybe eat some Silver Elixirs. > Get Top 3 Ranking next day. > Quickly finish Jonin exam so that you can gain entrance to the Halls of Awesome. > Get Golden Item.
Only to get Out on Top you'd need to be Rank 1 instead of Rank 1 ~ 3 and have enough levels to Loop the day you get that Ranking, which would be intensely annoying since B-Rank missions offer very little AP.
EDIT: I could probably afford the Over 11000 if I sold most of my Smoke Bombs and TACOs but I haven't been lucky with TACO lately. Monday and Tuesday offered 1 drop apiece.

Ironically, you know what makes getting enough levels to loop a lot easier?
Out on Top.

I dunno, I've never found much use for Out on Top.
Sure, it sounds good on paper, but I figure it suffers from the following problems when speedlooping.
1) The fact that it affects the stat nearest to leveling up. Which means the gains may be incredibly mediocre depending on how close your stats may be. 2) The fact that I'm not entirely sure how it works. Does it kick in after dayroll? During dayroll? Do you need to have the theme set up the dayroll before, or what? 3) The nature of speedlooping means that the gains will be, yet again, mediocre. Especially since speedlooping tends to focus on Tai, so if Out on Top increases a different stat then it's not really all too useful.
I pretty much see it as bragging rights, and nothing more.

Okay, 'a lot' might have been an exaggeration, but with some planning it can be quite useful. Maybe more useful after a speedloop than during, since you'll probably want decent levels for whatever endeavors you have then.
EDUT: Should we have a thread for this so everyone else isn't scared away from this one?

Nah, we'll either get bored of talking BvS or somebody will interject with a random comment.
By the way, how much of BillyCon have you done?

I have gotten/beaten: Backstage Pass <- Still don't know what it's good for besides the entry bonus. I guess Panelist Reanimation is nice to have as an option, but the rest of Backstage is unfinished last I heard. Videogame tourney (still play sometimes for the prize money, though) Prime Target Master of Disguise Cosplay Complete Glowslinger, Rising Star, Light Fantastic 2 Idol bosses (and their perms) Extra Suitcase Still need: The latter half of glowslinging (I did get Nadeshiko Lvl2, though, so that's nice) The rest of the Idol bosses/perms Ravemaster (I'm damn close. 4 dance skills are level 4 or higher, a lot of 3s, and Flipping Out is 5) Cosplay 1st-place trophy (Also close. Upwards of 20 total skill bonus. I keep getting 2nd place or having my parts disqualified for Most Used)

You also get the free wanders, which is nice.
I have yet to do any of the Main Events, mainly because I'm unsure if I could actually win any of them. No Rave, no Idol, no Tournament, no Cosplay.
My main thing is to get a Nice Boat, but it never pops up except when I don't have the money to buy it. If I get a day where both Work a Booth and Panelist Reanimation are during Main Event times, I always try for a "Get as much money before Day 3 and then Dealer's Room all Day 3" but it's yet to work for me.
I'm also trying to complete at least one cosplay piece.
Do cosplay bonuses work for normal BillyCon events or are they just for Cosplay Contest?

There's a calculator out there for Rave, at least. You can get some concept of how you'd likely do before you enter. Idol you can't advance anyway until you've got Rising Star from the Rave. Cosplay and the Tourney are easier with good skills, so you're not losing much by waiting on those. For Nice Boat, forgive the pun, but I'm pretty sure you missed the boat. It's tied to the Baka Badge, so you only have like December through February to get it. (Re-Edit: you get the badge when you enter the Con each week, so you'll want fillers active that day) Cosplay parts don't give any bonuses for normal events. You do however get certain wanders by wearing a full set (they don't have to match, just have to be wearing one of each part type). That also gets you a bonus in the Rave. I do have the Baka Badge.
Yeah, I tried out the Rave calculator and was shocked at how low I was scoring. I figure I'll have to do other stuff before even thinking about attempting it.
I only have one Level 4 skill, five Level 3 skills and the majority are Level 2.

The badge isn't permanent, though. It lasts through one con.
Now that I think of it, you probably have to have fillers active on Friday, so the lady will give you one at the door.

... Oh, shit, didn't realize it was a one-con thing. That may explain a lot.
Guess I will start using Filler for Cons where I can stack up money.
... Why would I have Fillers on Friday? I only have them active on Mondays and Tuesdays for TACO farming.

I made a mistake with my post before that. You need the Badge to get your Nice Boat. But you only receive the badge when you first enter the con, which I'm assuming is usually Friday, so that's the day you need month-locked content unlocked. EDUT: Wait, you use fillers for TACO farming? I would think the +100% drop rate theme would be more useful on those days... This post has been edited by FourThirteen: May 23 2011, 06:43
