If you're stupid, yeah, I suppose it is. Of course seeing as a good portion of the world can speak it to varying degrees, far be it for me to say you're wrong.

Isn't it regarded as one of, if not the easiest language to learn?

It takes a bit longer to learn than most languages, yes, but hardly the most difficult language to learn.

English is widely regarded as the most difficult language in the world. We have more words in our language than any other and so many rules to govern the spelling and meaning of a lot of our words.

I have never once heard anyone say this. Ever.
Nor would I believe it if I did.

While many native speakers seem to forget this, English is actually quite difficult to learn because of pronunciation issues and irregular verbs; in English, many words are spelled the same but sound different depending on the meaning. This makes the English language hard to understand even for people whose native tongue is a related language.

Mandarin and Cantanese have the same issue, but much more difficult to understand and that's just the first off the top of my head.

It comes down to what a person's native tongue is as to how easily they can transition to another language. Someone who grew up with Chinese, could more easily learn Japanese. People who know Italian can more easily learn Spanish. But there isn't much of a logical jump from another language to English... and Ebonics doesn't count.

Sir, I have learned five languages so far, and English has been the simplest. Spanish has at least as many words as English, as well as some weird exceptions and accents, and Spanish is by far one of the easiest languages to learn. An average English speaker is fluent at about the age 12; the average Polish speaker is fluent in their language not until age 16. Finnish is ever harder.

I'm sorry Noah, we're talking about relevant languages, not loser languages.
