Niceness is the worst disservice you can do to a person. Sometimes being stern will help them realize their mistakes rather than pretending that nothing is wrong with them.
Well, you can beat the shit outta people, until you eventually get 'em to see it your way. That's kinda how society works, in this day and age. It keeps 'em attuned to reality, so they understand why people treat them a certain way, why things happen to them, etc., when they're assessing their flaws clearly. Knowing you're stupid, for example, is important—it's like knowing you're ugly.
It's very important in life, yet, still...that's not necessarily how you'll
want to experience yourself. Self-delusion is a viable coping strategy in life, when you're extremely sensitive to personal criticism. While we may understand how we're viewed, to a certain degree, we do not always choose to experience ourselves the way others do. Do you know what I'm saying?
Sure, it also makes sense sometimes to be alone, because there's no one around to hate you...but there's no one around to love you, either (besides you). So, sometimes you've gotta accept your quirks and take the chance of being hurt, whether it's in an intimate or platonic relationship. That's what I'm saying. I'm somewhat in agreeance with you, to that end.
