I'd appreciate if the search was fixed so that you can get matches for things that aren't at the beginning of a word. Currently searching for "demic" returns things for "demicoeur", "de Micchaku", and "demi-chan", but not "pandemic" or "epidemic", and you can't use wildcards to get around this because for whatever reason wildcards aren't permitted at the start of a term. You can't get around it by doing an "or" search either because those also aren't supported.

The only thing I don't like is The "new" and "expunged" icons were removed. Instead, new uploads since your last visit are now indicated by bolding the published time, while expunged galleries are indicated by a strike-through.
I can't tell whats new and what's not unless I CLICK on it. The old one you didn't have to click on every title so you know what you've seen already it had the icon that would then go away

So take it that no thumbnail loading past first two under Opera wont be fixed?

The tag only exists for legitimate dual-language or translated-to-Japanese works.

So... how do I filter it? I was reading some of the older posts, pretty funny how the retards are always so against changes, even though it's OBVIOUSLY good changes. Especially the tag follow thing, we should have that years ago, its way too useful. About the visual changes, it's always a little hard to get used to it, but after you do, it's over. You search for any language besides Japanese...

I see, so there's no way... thanks. I mean, I only wanted things I like to appear on "my tags", but I also wanted japanese language too, but only if it has the right tags on it. I was playing with the weight tag thing, it's pretty fun.

If you want just Japanese works you use My Settings to filter off all other languages.

Note that "Japanese original" will also include any work that is considered Japanese [default] by the system: - no language tag in the gallery has reached 100 power - japanese is the "dominant" language (highest power for a multilingual gallery)

Noticed that I'm not getting all the results for some of my notes when I search my favourites for them now. Not really sure why. I double checked that the gallery I wanted has the note set and it does, but it won't show up.

Note changes don't update immediately as far as I can tell. If you've changed them recently, try again later.
If you didn't change them, try changing the note(s) to something else. (Yes, it will be time-consuming if you've hit 25k but at this point you should consider using a database in addition to regular server-side favorites and client-side browser bookmarks.)

I actually dig most of the recent UI changes, and really dig the new search improvements/ But one CSS feature I really miss is that thumbnails will "fill in" to a row if I zoom out. With the new UI it's locked to 3-4 thumbnails per row. I often want to see more entries per row in thumbnails view so that I can "get through" pages faster. Would this be a possible setting option, or even a CSS userscript? I wish I knew CSS...
Also, this thread is getting pretty unwieldy. I wasn't able to read all 35 pages, but I wonder if this was already requested. I don't know if it's possible but maybe mods can have a sticky post near the beginning that lists all the things suggested, so that people don't repeat themselves? I don't know. There's also websites that will collect requests for you neatly.

That hasn't been requested yet. A sticky might be an option if there is enough motivation to parse the thread, will ask right now Yosh.

Mobile browsers tend to do some weird shit when it comes to scaling stuff for the screen, and for the most part they will fix a "virtual" screen width depending on the device's DPI. While it is possible to control this with the meta viewport tag to some extent, I never found a way to use it effectively despite putting some time into it, and it always seemed to do more harm than good.

I can't middle-click or right-click the icons next to the galleries (ArtistCG, Doujinshi, etc.) anymore to open them up in a new tab. I have to actually click it to see all of that category now, instead of opening it up in a new tab. I swear it worked yesterday but it doesn't today.
Using Firefox 65 by the way.

Decided to work with the new system for a week before posting thoughts here. I also read through most of the thread up to this point currently, and can say I agree with a myriad of issues others have pointed out.
-Thumbnails need to stop blocking timestamps and various other information when using Compact and Minimal display for search/watched pages. This is further exasperated by the fact that the thumbnail is present no matter where your cursor is on the cell/frame? but if you want to open the gallery in a tab via Ctrl or middle mouse (at least for me) it won't work unless you are directly on the title. It's a counter intuitive design choice to say the least (I think this is being looked at?).
-I do miss the "New" icon for showing stuff you uploaded since your last visit but the bolded timestamp is functionable it's just a matter of becoming adjusted to it. Though it really doesn't seem as useful for making snap identifications. *What is not currenlty acceptable for me is that once has passed since you started your new session on the site the bold on timestamps resets back to only the last hour since you start browsing the search/watched pages respectively. It also continues to do this constantly no matter how active you are on the search/watched pages. If I am off for multiple days and want to spend a couple or few hours browsing what I missed I've now got to get that done in an hour now? It seems that both E-H and ExH are working from the same system of timestamps instead of separate cookies, so I don't have a backup or ability to make a smaller checks one day and then a more full sweep when I have more time at some other point (I saw a user on the update log thread mention this issue when he uses the HV). This legitimately is the thing that is taxing my enjoyment of the site the most right now. Losing that forced me revert to my old system of having a sticky note on my desktop with the timestamp of the last gallery I saw visibly on the front page and using an open Favorite slot as a marker too...well I would use a Favorite slot that way if I had any available...
Some other issues that I noted, but I haven't seen brought up here (AFAIK): 1. Why when moving the cursor over a tag in a gallery now does it revert it to black text? It's making it hard sometimes to tell if I have something selected to vote on (don't tell me to just see if the vote options are visible below I didn't need to do it before there's no rational reason for it now) or if I have already voted on something. I've got to constantly get the cursor off of tags to be sure, since it just otherwise looks like I haven't interacted with it. 2. This took a while for me to figure out what was happening and hopefully I can explain it clearly. When you go to your Favorite page and use the search it will show results across all ten categories. However unlike the old system when changing categories now it resets the Name/Tag/Note options to unchecked and just displays the whole category. This also occurs when you've already selected a category and try to change to another one. I'm guessing this isn't WAD/WAI as I saw people bringing up problems that the Name/Tag/Note options weren't auto checked to begin with when the update first went live IIRC.
Really this update feels like getting a new car (and you know you'll need to get used to it) but it is missing some of the old usability/functionality vs getting new flashy new features and odd aesthetic changes made by someone else...Seriously, the old site was not ugly, it only seems that way because it hadn't really changed over the course of years for some I guess. I am sure I will enjoy the new watched page and My tag system once I play around with it more though it took me a couple of reads to figure it out but seems sensible enough. That said this update just seems to be an odd attempt to draw in more users that might have been lost to newer sites that have come up in the last few years now that hosting and running gallery viewing sites is easier while annoying a decent chunk of the current user base (still accounting for the fact that more people will come to the thread to complain than compliment being what human nature is...).
