QUOTE(Tenboro @ Mar 22 2019, 12:15) Your browser is ancient. Update.
It's ancient and it still worked with the old UI. That's why ehentai was so great, it was compatible with everyone. Someone above joked about this, but I wouldn't be surprised if the old site really did work with PS Vita. I mean, you're getting so many questions about reverting back that they're literally half this thread's posts, why not at least host the legacy UI until new UI has the same compatibility? I really don't care how different you make the site colors or the button styles, I'm fine with you wanting to chnage up the site's style after a decade of the same, I just want the site to at least work in functionality as it literally did just 4 days ago.

QUOTE(sam48146 @ Mar 22 2019, 11:12) Hath perks when?
QUOTE(Tenboro @ Mar 19 2019, 07:38) Probably not, at least not on the short term. There is a non-insignificant cost in having large tag sets, and I have to get some performance data on the current limits before doing anything else.

Guess I'll use it only to track my "Hard No" and "Fuck yeah!" tags for now, then.

QUOTE(Teh Freek @ Mar 22 2019, 16:55) I'm not a big fan of the changes to the minimal view. Specifically, I have two beefs with it:
1. The preview window used to cover only the date and category when hovering over the gallery link. Now it covers the date, category, new status, torrent status, and favorited status when anywhere in the cell. So now you see even less information, and it's harder to see.
2. The category button image on the left is too large. I can get around changing the category colors, I'll get used to them eventually. But the category column doesn't need to be that fancy. Instead of images just make the cell have that color and text and make the cell itself smaller.
And for further suggestions:
1. A greyed-out torrent indicator doesn't present any more information than a missing indicator, and only adds visual noise; just hide it completely if there is no torrent available for the gallery.
2. The stars in the rating aren't clickable, so they don't need to be very large; making them smaller along with the category cell will make the rows tighter.
Again, all this is with regards to the minimal layout. I have no input about the other layouts since I've never had a use for them.
+1 to everything in this post. The thumbnail window together with the whole cell/line linking is probably the biggest gripe i have with the update. I still have an old laptop i ocassionally use for browsing with a screen resolution of 1280x800. The thumbnail covers half of the on-screen search results. If you absolutely, positively need this (for mobile or whatever) at least make it optional, though i honestly don't see why this change was needed in the first place. I've already stated this, but if you minimal option for an UI takes up more space than your former default UI design you've kind of messed up. The buttons don't need to be that large and neither does the cell. If people have been complaining about this because everything's to small on their 8k screens the solution is not to screw with the design. The solution is to tell these people to up their DPI scaling. This post has been edited by krautbernd: Mar 22 2019, 18:10

The new icons look horrible to me like they do for kids between 5-8 years. (IMG:[ i.ibb.co] https://i.ibb.co/6X7rs1M/uhftjrj.png) I would like to be able to reactivate the old ones. And I miss NEW info on the posts. This post has been edited by Grabi: Mar 22 2019, 20:39

For those missing the old categories images, maybe you should get them from https://ehwiki.org/wiki/Gallery_Categories, in case somebody made a .css to use your own images, but you need to have the images you want. By the way, checking this link made me wonder: what does the "Private" category button look like now? Would it be possible to include the weight of each tag in the div attributes? It would allow for some further customization through CSS/javascript.

Well, this is a couple days settled in at this point but it still seems fairly active, so I'll post my two cents.
The functionality is nice. I like the way that Compact view can show me some of the tags for a gallery before I open it, for example. But the look of the redesign is... Well, amateurish at best? The new design and coloring on the category icons is blindingly saturated, and looks childish. The font for gallery titles is also obnoxiously big. It feels like a UI that was designed for people that are either really bad at reading or have really bad eye sight.
Bring back the old category icons, or at least the COLORS of the old category icons, and shrink the gallery titles down to their original size, and I think we'd be on the right track. Minimal mode is alright, but what's the point of trying a new design and making it the default first choice is everyone that sees it immediately wants to go back to the old look? Just give us something a little less preschool.

Preferred display mode set in my settings doesn't carry over when going to panda, making it basically useless to set it in the first place. New entries also still don't show up in bold on panda.

I found a tiny html error in the news page. div#nb is a child element of div#newsinner. CODE <div id="newsinner"> <div id="nb"></div> <table id="nt"></table> <p class="ip"></p> </div>
But, when a dawn event, there is a leftover end tag </div>, which makes div#nb a sibling element of div#newsinner CODE <div id="newsinner"> <div id="eventpane"> <p>It is the dawn of a new day!</p> <p>Reflecting on your journey so far, you find that you are a little wiser.</p> <p>You gain <strong>0</strong> EXP ...</p> </div> </div> <div id="nb"></div>

I have not seen a response to me original post so I will ask again. Do you know when website staff will add a legacy option for the UI in the settings section? Do we have a time frame for when this feature will be launched? That's fine if people like the new UI but many, including myself don't and didn't sign up for this update.
Regards.

Some time between "never" to "never". If you take issue with some part of the new UI in particular you should articulate it.

It's really hard to differentiate the new uploads from the old at first glance.

People articulated numerous times, including myself, what they don't like about it without any response. Some people have just style preference issues, for others this UI update breaks the site. The problem in the thread isn't a lack of articulation, lad. I've been using your site for 8 years now and like I said, I don't understand why you can't maintain device support. There's plenty of long time veteran users like me who use older devices for their wanks, this update isn't just changing the color schemes on the site, we literally cannot access basic functionalities anymore. All tablets are seemingly affected by the new UI, if you look at the screenshots tablet users posted. This was supposed to be just a UI update. It's not like you completed some total site overhaul. I don't understand why it seems like you're intentionally alienating long time users who've been loyal to your site for years. The reality that some harmless shit like an UI update is breaking the site is beyond absurd. This post has been edited by inkarian21: Mar 23 2019, 06:54

I've not been able to access the taggroup tool since the update. This is bad because it was a useful tool for tag cleanup to me in the past and also is linked all over the wiki to list slave tags. Example: The link to slave tags at the bottom here only tells me "No ACL entry".

This one showing me without tags: https://e-hentai.org/?f_search=%22+Otokonok...BChinese%5D+%22Also I don't see reason for disabling user-select and it just annoying: CODE .glt>tbody>tr{-webkit-user-select:none;-khtml-user-select:none;-moz-user-select:none;-ms-user-select:none;user-select:none}
