QUOTE(marcho @ Nov 3 2009, 01:32) I'm pretty sure I did report a bug I could have abused horribly D: And others before that. That said This. Need Disgaea items/artifacts/legendaries. And a special mid-boss category enemy.
Hmm mid-boss you mean monster with french accent which comes to us every so often just to be beaten to pulp and running away with promise to another match while boasting they was just testing you [or were ill, or forgot to bring they weapon] Now that would be tough to implement to happen in some logical way. Moa common/rare/legendary it is already kinda in place [not sure progress but somehow like normal/dragonhide/prism/ethereal feel free to correct me]

QUOTE(DemonEyesBob @ Nov 3 2009, 08:50) Their base value range was doubled... while the scaling factor was halved. I'll have to re-read that when it's not 3am, because that made no sense to me lol.
All stats for all weapons have a certain range they can roll on when they're generated. A club, for instance, can roll a base damage between 18 and 36 (or in your case, 44). These stats are permanent, as in that when they have been rolled, nothing can change them. (Yet.) Each stat also has a scaling factor, by which I mean, two scaling factors. The first scaling factor (base factor) is applied to calculate the base "level 0" stat of the weapon. The second scaling factor (level factor) is applied against this base stat and the level of the weapon to calculate the effective stat, which you see on the equipment screen. Both these factors are global, so changing it for a given stat will modify that stat comparatively on all the gear. There is a third scaling factor for relative power between equipment classes, but this is currently set to 1 for all gear, and I'm not really planning on touching it. So basically, gear will drop at a more powerful base level, but will 'grow' less with the character, hence making the concept of getting a 'good piece' of equipment and sticking with it for an unreasonably long time less viable?

No its more like gear has a better chance to start with a higher base level, but the range of the stats will be smaller for each level. Atleast that's how I read it. also narrowing the range on mana returned from absorb would rock, like .75-1.25, or at the very least something better then the current .5-1.1, I'm not even sure the top end is 1.1 could be 1.01. don't think I've seen more then 1-2 mana over cost before.

Uhm. No, a club is rolled on the 16-32 range no matter what level it is. It's only the level scaling factor that makes gear different when it levels up. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) The quality bonus however does restrict rolls to the upper parts of the ranges.

Yeah, okay, I see now. Misread cause I was tired. I was thinking of the whole way that equips scale down if they're above your level and was thinking... I don't know what I was thinking, to be honest. Ignore me. ~_~

Err, no. The quality rating of the item is directly related to how well it rolls on the various ranges.

@Tenb: Lol, having fun trying to get the loot-o-matic workings explained? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Question about item world: does the type of equipment actually affect difficulty, or is it just quality? Ie. Will a level 150 crude buckler have monsters of the same power as a level 150 crude shortsword, or no? And I guess on that line of thought, since equipment with "of the blah" subtypes tend to be considered better quality (more expensive) do those have stronger monsters? Lvl 150 crude buckler vs Lvl 150 crude buckler of protection, will the difficulty be the same? Also, I'm not sure if Alpha7 told you, but when one of his equipment passed the level from one type to another (don't remember what it was, but the point being like from emerald->sapphire) it didn't change type. You know what would be cool? A spell modifier. Like, regen restores us for a certain amount, it just takes a specified amount of time. If we could modify it ourselves, like, given it has to heal a certain amount in the end, extend the length of the spell while reducing its power each turn or vice-versa. Idk. Random thought lol. I was going somewhere with this, I think because of regenII, but not exactly sure where. Kind of like you with item world lol. Like, if I could choose to have haste work for more turns but increase action speed less per turn etc. Just, modifying the spells. Keeping the total output the same, but changing how much output there is per turn, if that makes sense. I realize that would be ridiculous to code, but it's just a thought. Also, could we get slightly different icons for cure1,cure2,cure3 regen1,regen2 etc? Edit: And for bewilder/stun (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) I'm still getting bashed because of that mixup. This post has been edited by DemonEyesBob: Nov 3 2009, 23:09

Ah, yes, I leveled two items from Level 19 (Bronze) and neither transmuted to Iron at Level 20. The club doesn't concern me as it's just an Item World battlefield for me but, the leather breastplate is a primary piece of my Mage battle armor. Club: [ hv.e-hentai.org] http://hv.e-hentai.org/pages/showequip.php...;key=8a7f5690eaLBN: [ hv.e-hentai.org] http://hv.e-hentai.org/pages/showequip.php...;key=f24a199861Carrying the thought further, can the quality change after enough leveling? Or, might one day there be a Level 78 Flimsy Bronze Kite Shield in existence? This post has been edited by Alpha 7: Nov 3 2009, 23:31

I only just now noticed this. Dawn of a new day now occurs at 7 PM EST instead of 8 PM EST. I guess HV didn't turn its clock back an hour for daylight savings?
Still requesting that new updates have their changes sent out in a Moogle mail.

Tenb said that for now all it can do is level up.

LOL, that ass-backwards tradition of Daylight Savings Time? Protip: E-H isn't located in Americaland or any of those silly nations that still do DST. Also agree that MoogleMails should be sent out whenever an update is made. Surely it could be automated to mass-mail "Hey guys, there's an update, go read it. Love, Snowflake."

@Tenb: About moogle mail, when selecting items to send: after you've chosen how many to send, if that number could be displayed somewhere, it would be nice. Also, this is still happening: (IMG:[ imgur.com] http://imgur.com/yq6DV.png) (IMG:[ imgur.com] http://imgur.com/Xh1DB.png) (IMG:[ imgur.com] http://imgur.com/4DIA8.png) I'm using downloadable fonts. It rolls over at midnight UTC. It's not the rest of the world's fault you set your clock back.

I never said it was a bad thing, I was just pointing out something I noticed from my perspective. Nevertheless, thanks for the clarification guys.

T-bro,
Do you think you could persuade Snowie to do the gyro-poop booty dance and plop out some more Mana Elixirs and Godly Mana Potions in the item shop? Someone hoarded all of them and should be bitch-slapped. I'm going to transform and stomp through Japtown if I don't get my 'lixir fix soon.
THANK YOU

Yes, please. I was in there earlier and saw 33 Godly Mana Potions left, went WTF?, and bought them ahead of schedule because my supply was running low and I didn't want to end up with none.

Following up on Bob's font problems, I have a local font that I use for long battles. The problem I am encountering is: I cannot enter Item World with it. The explanation text overlaps the Entry "button" after selecting an Item World using my "battle" font and I can't click it to enter the selected world. Perhaps move the Entry button towards the bottom of the column?
