QUOTE(radixius @ Oct 30 2009, 17:09) Maybe, and this may have been said before, try to have the monsters in item worlds be the same levels as the item that they inhabit, and not the character?
Good suggestion! So players with lower level equipment have more chances to improve it.

Forget I said anything. D:
But seriously, can we think of a workaround that lets theft come into play somewhat more often without making things more difficult for everyone? D: The arenas take forever to get up to the sheer number of enemies you need to even coalesce reliably, much less theft.

I'm overwhelmed by this amount of changes. Uh, I don't know if I like it or not. Err, perhaps I should just go and pay HV a visit.

Well I had an extra token of blood so I tried White bunneh it really wasn't that bad was getting hit for about 500 with shield up. But then again this is 1v1 so that makes it easier to take that kind of damage, and nerf did almost nothing to weaken the strength of the attacks, got hit for 508 before I put it up and between 450 and 550 after.

QUOTE(Tenboro @ Oct 30 2009, 15:45)
- Also, I'd again like to reiterate that I've never played or even heard of the game Disgaea.
Really? The healer system and item world are pretty much from it. I guess someone from the staff plays it. This post has been edited by Ratio: Oct 30 2009, 18:23

Also; I know you're not a magician or what have you, but would it be possible to get a MoogleMail notice in the forum PMs, just in case you come here first and one shows up. It's not important, but it may help some of the locals.

KIKCK ASS!!!
Honestly, I can't even think of a thing to wail about...
Now lets see how it works in battle...
Edit. I love new spell prices! Now I guess I can clear Arenas as real mage should -- by pure spell spam! Only one issue: Why Magic Missle is more expensive than Fireball AND Icestrike? Shouldn't it be The Basic, and so leas damaging and least expensive?

Awesome update. I totally forgive the fact I get way less int/wis from my gear now. I mean, it's costing only 1-2 mana for offensive spells, hell yeah!
And coalesced mana can proc from indirect casts on AoE! And it seems to not wear off the second i cast a spell on said creature.
As for being able to level gear: I'm glad I kept that level 17 fine etheral staff of the owl with ether theft. ^__^ If i level it enough, will the magic accuracy be tolerable?

Interesting. Ether Theft is now more of a rebate, rather than a freebie.

Item World is EPIC WIN!!!!!
Moving "Silence" all the way up to Level 110 is EPIC FAIL.
(Am I to logically assume that the Arena of Blood Challenges have been moved up as well -especially since the SuperBosses' Soul Attacks typically take off more DMG than the average Tank has in his entire HP Bar, even super-high HP guys like me??)

QUOTE(Tenboro @ Oct 30 2009, 09:45) So I lied, it was less than one day. Shoot me. ... lots of stuff ...
Oh Fuck QUOTE New Skill Trees
Thank you very much for the item/scroll slots. At level 170 I'll thank you for the physical attack thingy. QUOTE Magic Revamps
Unless I decide to stick my next 50 points into int and wis I'm unaffected by this lol. edit: I might end up doing that. goddamn. QUOTE Battle Regeneration
Fuck. Yeah. QUOTE Staff proc dynamics
- Coalesced Mana is now triggered by spells instead of normal attacks. All magic that is targeted on a monster can trigger the effect. It will now also last two more turns.
- A monster now has to be affected by CM in order to trigger the Ether Theft effect. When it triggers, CM is consumed.
- Increased the amount of mana drained by Ether Theft.
I read the ether theft change before the cm one, and was like yay. Now I'm like oh fuck no. QUOTE Equipment Changes
Generally yay. Retroactive lacking boo, but expected. Oh well. QUOTE - The loot generator should now generate equipment that make a bit more sense with stats and such. Loot quality bonuses now work in a different way from before, and should make quality gear more consistently decent across all stats. It will however no longer allow stats to exceed the specified range of the items in question, so YMMV.
- Note that some ranges have been widened and adjusted to fit the loot engine tweaks. This will have caused some stat changes on existing gear.
Yay? QUOTE Drop changes
Loot drop rates have been tweaked further:
- Consumables now drop at a rate of 50% health, 30% mana, 10% spirit, 4% scroll, 4% infusion, 1% elixirs and 1% "special"
- Artifacts are now about five times as likely to drop randomly. They have also been changed to all have the same "value" (10k).
- Equipment is now about twice as likely to drop randomly. Base value has been halved.
- Rare+ mobs should now give the intended amount of credits.
Wait, what? I'm happy about artifacts, unsure about elixirs and special, what just happened to equipment? QUOTE MoogleMail, Kupo Oh boy. QUOTE The Item World Oh fucking wow. This won't change special type right? Submitting my ethereal rapier to this won't turn it into a regular one right? Generally speaking, oh fucking fuckity fuck fuck. Edit: QUOTE - You can no longer use Weaken/Blind together with Bewilder/Silence (using either from one group will remove both from the other). Ummmm please undo this. It makes legendaries impossible to beat. I was going to take on real life today and now I'm not, because he crits me for 1/4 of my health fairly often, and if I can't weaken him I'll be dead in 5 turns and if I can't silence him I'll be dead in less. QUOTE(TheBigR @ Oct 30 2009, 10:05) What utter horseshit. Silence or Weaken for regular enemies usually only comes down to one or the other but not with legendaries. This change makes absolutely no sense at all. Such a thing should be up to the player and how he chooses to play. This needs to be changed straight away
If anyone has the right to complain about that, it's me. I was still in the middle of bashing my way through End of Days with its one-legendary-every-round business, so that's toast, and to top it off I have to come and read this? What the fuck is with these restrictions on what I can and can't cast at the same time? Tenboro, if you think the rest of the new gimmicky features will make up for this, you're dead wrong. Trying to fight legendaries without Weaken is suicide since they crit for incredible damage, upwards of 1000 HP, and don't even begin to think you can last by using Supportive instead of Silence on them. Change it back.

I make a post once every blue moon... But, I feel this is important for me to say. Though, I'm sure everyone ever thinks I'm wrong.
I really do wish that at the very low levels (Think 10-25ish) there was increased chance for equipment (not good equipment, but ANYTHING is better than nothing) to drop. It's when you have very very few credits, and you're dying really quickly and ugh.
I also hope, in some future update, that scrolling over the stats (STR, WIS, AGI, DEX, and so on) will tell you what each of them effects. Since, that's really helpful to someone like me, who's trying to plan out his... very rare level up (whoo, 18. Only 82 more to go before I'm able to kill things reliably. >_>)
Anyways, maybe those are problems the higher leveled people face, in which case, ignore me. But, I like to level up, and feel like I can accomplish stuff. And, maybe once I get to 20 that'll be easier. But, it sure is a pain in the ass as things stand.
Sorry for the ramble, and such. The update looks cool, and I'm sure in a year and a half I'll be able to realize what the update REALLY did for people. Kinda. But, until then, it just looks cool. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I may have to shoot you for doing this: QUOTE - Introduced the deprecating spell Bewilder at level 80, which is basically Weaken for magic. Silence has been bumped to level 110.
- You can no longer use Weaken/Blind together with Bewilder/Silence (using either from one group will remove both from the other).
How am I supposed to fight Ryouko now? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif) Apart from that, it all looks quite interesting. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

QUOTE(radixius @ Oct 30 2009, 10:29) Goddamnit, Thanos, stop nitpicking every fucking update, it's getting old. You have a weird definition of "nitpicking..." especially since my last Posting contains effuse praise as well as criticism. I wouldn't have responded to you at all if I thought that you were only joking (and maybe you are and I just can't see it). Perhaps in response you'll tell the rest of us precisely what you mean by "nitpicking" -especially in the context of a post like mine.

The only thing I haven't tried is the arenas. Hourly battles are about the same, Love the lower mana cost. I'm getting about twice the rounds on grind fest than I was. I had a lvl 8 bronze dagger that leveled up to a 10 when I ran it threw the item world (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) I'm gonna wait until after the dawn to try the arenas. Thanks again Tenboro.
