I just tried the Item World for the first time, and I must say that I am very, very pleased with it. At very least it gives you a lot more EXP then Grindfest, though you get no credits, which is fine.

I know the feeling (remember I got 2 at once). Especially since most people are gonna die the first couple of times they battle legendaries since the change. Given I almost beat real life on hard prior to the update and barely won against him on normal after it, and I had a bunch of luck (spirit attack once out of 300 turns and missed). 79 healing tokens, 0 blood. I really wish we could sell them, so that the lower levels could use our healing tokens and we could use their blood tokens.

The amount of Spirit consumed when Spark of Life is triggered is too disproportionate to the number of times Absorb fails to activate now that everyone is forced to abandon Silence when facing Legendaries. I decided to give End of Days another shot since Absorb seemed to be working well in the other arenas, yet Absorb + Blind has already failed to stop legendary magic /spirit from 1-hitting me 3 times in barely more than a round. That of course makes the challenge impossible without some sort of broken stun proc club, i.e. 50% for 10 turns. Is there any way you can reduce the amount of Spirit consumed when Spark is activated, or possibly make Absorb activate 100% of time when the attack surpasses a certain amount of damage?

The whole reason you pretty much had to use silence was that given how long it takes to kill a legendary, despite your best efforts to make it as unlikely as possible something was eventually going to get through. And even at full health, that something was going to kill you.

I can take spirit attacks from boss creatures, they deal about half my health. That's manageable. You have to play it safe, and you cant let that happen often, and it hurts like a bitch, but its manageable. Legendaries should be doing ~ half of hito's health. It shouldn't be a full to dead 1 shot kill. Please?

Oh and let us trade health tokens for blood tokens at the shrine.... ?

@Tenboro: I know one-handed prof increases the effects of bleed wound, but what about Penetrated Armor? I have a 16% chance for 1 turn, 100 points of prof later it still is 16% chance for 1 turn. Does PA get any bonus from one-hand prof?

Nope. The only proc effected by prof is bleed, stun and PA are not.

This is from the same round, about 20 turns apart. I had Spark, Absorb and Blind active, plus others that wouldn't have an effect on this.

Time Quake hits you for 12251 dark damage

Your Spark of Life fails due to insufficient Spirit.
Time Quake crits you for 18533 dark damage.

BTW, I had 165 Spirit Points remaining, and that was an insufficient amount. The amount of spirit drained seems to be increasing at a rate that only allows 6-7 sparks to be used, despite what your spirit point total may actually be. I know for a fact that it used to only drain around 110 points, just a few weeks ago. Using Silence instead of Weaken fails even harder since then I get crit for 900 damage multiple turns in a row, and that is with pretty good physical, crushing, piercing, and slashing mitigations.

Also, the elemental spike supportive spells are just gimmicks as I said earlier, because Ryouko was still hitting me for 5000 cold damage even with frost spikes active. No amount of mitigation on armors will stop this much damage, give the multiplicative calculations, and even if I did switch to spirit-ward armors, they would still hit for 4-5k apiece and leave me open to much higher amounts of physical damage.

There's really only one more possibility without the broken stun procs, and that is bound to fail as well since Shadow Veil has sucked hard every time I've ever used it.

I was saying he should reduce legendary spirit damage to ~ 50-60% of your hp before mit like he did the bosses. That'd make spark fire much less often if you were playing it safe.

Basically, no 1 hit KO attacks on anything please was the gist I was going for.

Love this update. Can get so much further now in grindfest, item world is amusing, and can actually spam attack spells instead of heavily conserve magic.

Of course just a lowbie here, so higher levels might not share my ardour (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Wearing mixed armor so my interference is kinda low while getting nice amount of rezistance/mitigate/evade from it. And it works really well. And now with this mage friendly changes I am looking for increasing mage wise stats even more [1st goal for now is at least 1 MP regen per round (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)]

So in my opinion [not humble] this update helped me a hell lot
