Why expensive? It just requires a fuckton of grinding for level 500 players and it's unreachable for most of the pre-500 players.
Cold and fire mages are basically out of meta forever since only willow makes sense.
But elec and wind are not in a good spot either.
Dark willow + cap can already exceed 0.8 prof factor when fully forged.
So for endgame dark imperil > elec/wind imperil.

Without Imperil holy can super-easily reach 1.0 prof with shoes + gloves and, on friday and sunday with robe only, making it even stronger (Doracra was getting very good PFUDORFest result with 0.85, with 0.86 I guess Holy will be easily the strongest style even there).

My current 1H equipment able to survive IWTBH IW. Still not sure for arena with 70+ round.

In practice, it's not that bad: it takes forever to get to +20% proficiency. You can't choose the prof slot based on final proficiency. You will be playing for years with sub-optimal build.

Melee buff desired: Make every bit of accuracy past 200 for DW add to a chance of a third hit. Also make increasing offhand accuracy past 50% actually useful.

I've barely had time to play, what with clocking close to 160hrs of work since the first of the month, and another 80 already on my schedule through the end of next week... I'm on a job site as we speak, with only 3 hrs of sleep in the last 60.

Well, the monster lab is only profitable if you don't spend crystals on upgrading the monsters. Basically, get them to PL 25 and only feed them crystals to bump their morale when it gets low.

If you start pumping dozens of crystal packs into each monster, it'll probably take you years to break even (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Good question, the prof increase has changed radically today. Perhaps you should now just start playing full mage to build up the proficiency. And train some Assimilator.

i cannot really understand where you put the first one from and why you used the other two.

however, (base) L range is 35.64 ~ 38.52.

your shield has 37.24 (base) block. it's roughly halfway, so i'd expect somewhere in the 50% range.

now, let's do (your_roll - Lmin)/(Lmax - Lmin)*100 = 55.5%

if we want to be more technical, it's a mere 1st degree proportion.

And Redwood Cool/Fire mage has also been buffed, make no mistake. Still seriously good builds.

Redwood mages could already get to 0.69 with shoes (peerless equips), increasing base prof has no benefit unfortunately.

The problem is not if redwood is better or not, but the fact that willow has been buffed a lot more.

And with full assimilator training + exp perks I doubt the top players will need much time to grind at least ~20 prof levels, which are already enough to justify a lower slot.
It's basically a level cap increase but useful only for mages and even then only for some styles (which were already good before).

I fully agree. It doesn't nerf good styles, but it magnifies the difference beween the styles. The better the style already was, the more that style has improved! This is not desirable, I'd say.

Redwood has been improved too: 20 levels of staff proficiency means slightly more damage. And more deprecating prof means slighly higher hit-chance for imperil.
