Ye he he, I finally unlocked Imperil!
Now I need to be LVL 130 to use it!

Still, is it a good idea to drop my Strenght to 0 as a mage?

QUOTE(Sapo84 @ May 10 2017, 23:38) *

You have 2 decent pieces (1 slightly below average LDWD and 1 plain prefixed robe with 60+% roll) out of 6 and basically no forging.
Priorities should be:
- all the useful perks
- good (at least decent) equips on all the slots
- forging

Equipping the pants will bring you to 1 extraordinary equip a 1 decent, you will still need to replace all the phases/cloth and you will have no credits to buy everything.
The problem lies in the (incredibly high) value between good and exceptional .
It may be 1% final effectiveness but it may be worth 20M+ for rich players.
You can get a good pants (maybe with -0.3 on prof roll) for <5M and with the 20+M difference get:
1) Dæmon Duality
2) 2-3 good equips to replace those ugly mag or those crappy gloves
for probably a combined effect of increasing speed and survivability by more than 10%.

If you can get 25M for a single piece and you have crappy equips your best bet is to sell and use the credits to improve little by little the setup.
It's the fastest way to level up and build an end-game setup.

So basically my best option is to in fact sell it, ok, though isn't forging much better than perks (least the damage ones) credit wise? Was using the forge calculator and the price per upgrade was much lower than what DD or the perk that increases forbidden proficiency would have gave given damage wise, and that's before counting the fact that i get 90% of my stuff back when i salvage if I find a better piece.

QUOTE(Scremaz @ May 10 2017, 23:42) *

btw, there are some Robes of Fenrir on auction this week. you may want to consider this (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

[edit]: oh, and if nothing else those Shoes are Radiant. unless they have really crappy rolls, i don't think they should be changed so soon.

Unfortuantly they seem to be lv 500s which is too far off for me to bother with (gonna take me a few weeks to get within 100 levels and by then I could find something better)
QUOTE(Sapo84 @ May 10 2017, 23:58) *

They have -2.09 EDB compared to peerless.
And he has no credits to forge MDB (and he shouldn't).
A good leg with 90% EDB roll will do more damage and have a lot better defensive stats so, well, they are crap and should be replaced.

Ouch, what's considered "having credits" in this game? Thoguht I had a decent amount now (also have a few million in Hath, precursors, phazors, and misc)

QUOTE(Scremaz @ May 11 2017, 00:07) *

erm... fine, i guess? (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)
but in case he'll earn a phazon, he could forge two offensive stats at once (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
and how many 90% EDB pants drop? (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) i'm just saying he can still use those ones for now, not that he should treasure them like they were gold (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)

There's actually a 97% lv 375 pants for auction right now (and I bidded on it), no good prefix, but the extra 71 agility should balance that I think?

So what's the best way for me to go about selling my pants then? Sending it to auction or putting a WTS and taking offers?

Well, with perks you always get 100% the benefit and you don't risk 10% (rounded up) of materials + all catalysts.
I think that DD and prof perks are top priorities since they help a lot and you are gonna buy them anyway, sooner or later.

When I switched to mage I spent around, I think, 40M credits before actually starting to play.
That is without taking into account the damage perks, which I was already getting with 1H.
Let's say that 10-15M for equipments + IW + forge + perks are the absolute minimum to have a valid mage persona.

Other ways are WTS with higher price to see if anyone is willing to pay more, auction in hope of getting more (risking getting less) or sendina PM/MM to glay1004 and propose a different price.
I honestly think that 25M is already a good offer though.

The greediest move would be to send it to auction with 27.5mil minimum to see if anyone wants to pay more for it. I'm surprised you didn't get any PM/MM expressions of interest. Overall I think the offered price exceptional already, you don't get many dark mages these days and proficient pieces can be extremely hard to find the right buyer needing the specific slot as its usually the first piece you focus on due to the cheaper phazon-less forging.

QUOTE(abc12345678901 @ May 10 2017, 18:18) *

So i recently got a really nice pants as a drop [alt.hentaiverse.org] http://alt.hentaiverse.org/pages/showequip...;key=fe93b91acb and I'm not sure weither I should use it since it's a high % prof and charged or sell it and use the credits elsewhere (I play as a dark mage).

Currently my gear and stats are as follow:
Attached Image
Attached Image
[alt.hentaiverse.org] wep
[alt.hentaiverse.org] helm
[alt.hentaiverse.org] shirt
[alt.hentaiverse.org] hands
[alt.hentaiverse.org] legs
[alt.hentaiverse.org] feet

I have a prof factor of .719 right now, and my goal is .862 for now (which should be -65 dark mitigation w/ maxed dark imperil). Should I sell the item and use credits for something else? or should i keep and just change my current gear around (maybe sell off shirt for a phase one instead? or some other combination to get the prof factor i need) My goal is to get charged pieces since they seem to be the best type for dark from what I've heard. Also i prefer to think of things long term rather than short so if the pants do seem like end game gear or close to it, rather keep, and possible send out to get IW for increased survivbilty, assuming that the credits I'd gain from selling wouldn't massively overshadow the gear increase I'd get from keeping the pants.

No one brought this up, so...

It might be painful, but go grind your staff proficiency.

Here's a couple of questions that have been nagging me for a while:

1. I know that the heavy melee style would prefer to counter rather than evade, but according to wiki, counters are capped to 3 per turn anyway, so why is evade considered to be such a detrimental stat for heavy melee? Does having a few % of evade really reduce killspeed that much?

2. Grindfests: 1000 rounds means at least 20 stamina, which is 2 Energy Drinks (or ~210k). So basically, you have to earn over 210k in a full 1000-round Grindfest just to break even? How do you even turn a profit by doing Grindfests?

3. Lotteries: are they worth it? Or just something for rich players to sink their money in?

Dear experts, is it worth to get 1.0 prof factor for non-imperil playing with my current equip? I`d like to know about it in general also. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

Hence the following question: wouldn`t it be good if I get that and will concetrate on MDB/EDB upgrading or purchasing better equip? (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

They are capped to 3 but usually half or nearly half of the monsters are stunned so you would rarely have the chance to get more than 3 counters.
But the big difference is when you have few monsters, evading an attack may be the difference between 0 and 7.5 average OC.
The more evade you have the more difficult is to maintain spirit stance and/or fire OFC.
And anyway, since evade doesn't really help why would anyone want it?

You turn an easy profit because Precursor Artifacts can be sold for 24k.
With good training you probably average around 7-8 per fest (correct me if I'm wrong).
That nearly covers the cost of EDs, add in crystals and the other drops and the profit is very easy to see.

You can use Income Summary from Super and see for yourself.

I don't think that, in the history of manking, gambling has ever been worth the cost.
Anyway, no, it's worth only for end game equipments for rich players.

First try to see if it suits you and if you can handle it with your current setup.
You don't need 1.0 prof to try, consider that 0.66 prof factor vs 1.0 prof factor is around 10% speed loss in non imperil, do some runs and adjust your expectations based on your current setup.
If it sounds good go for it, otherwise keep your current play-style.

Note that for holy/dark if you have a good enough setup Nintendo and lower are visibly better with non imperil (even more for holy).
On Hell, if I'm lucky, I can clear a round with a single T3.

yep. also, consider how Evade is boosted:
1. Mithril-prefixed armors. they are rare and add nothing. seriously, at that point better going for whatever elemental prefix
2. Ethereal Rapiers. they are pretty damn expensive and force you to gamble on the IW10 strike. better to go for a whatever-prefixed one and know from the start what you'll earn
3. Feather Shards. not so expensive, but they have a duration. if something goes wrong, you'll find yourself in the middle of a quest with less evade.

luckily you won't have such trouble(s), because you absolutely don't need Evade (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

I don't think precise ROI calculations have any place in a game where you can suddenly decide to stop playing because you got bored.
If someone is willing to do fests I assume he likes to grind and that means he has the perks/training to back it up.
If you play only a couple of minutes per day fests and grinding perks shouldn't be even considered in the first play.

3. Lotteries: are they worth it? Or just something for rich players to sink their money in?

1. Besides everything said, you also need to consider that the evade roll comes before everything else, so you might actually evade all attacks and get no overcharge at all if your luck is bad, or good?

I still use haste and shadow veil on deeper rounds of grindest and item worlds.

---------------------

2. If you have the LGBD Hath perk, you only need to use 1 ED per day to play 2.2k rounds.

As grindfests have a higher average of number of monsters per round, it means you have a higher chance to get drops, so if you have good drop trainings, you can get a good profit, and if you also have crystal perks and can finish a whole grindfest, then you can also get profit form the crystal packs earned.

Of course, the profit depends completely on RNG.

I've had days where I got 25 artifacts doing 2.2k rounds, and days where I got 9... but overall it's still nice, as you also get other drops while playing, so your income isn't only focused on artifact and crytal drops, even if they are the main source of profit.

---------------------

3. You get 10k GP daily because of the Gold Star, so you might as well get 1~5 tickets in each lottery.

If you were to sell it, you would only get around 2.700 credits, so might as well gamble a bit.

that's a whole other problem. in your case the quest becomes so hard that you throw all you have on the pot to try to end it. it's an emergency situation due to the fact that bringing home the score is more important than an optimal strategy, not a standard (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

So, does monster level actually do anything at all?

I've been fighting 800+ PL monsters for quite some time now, so does the level show anything related to the monster PL, like in my case PL 800~1000 being lvl 394 and close to power level cap monsters being level 399?

Just wondering if Monster Level is just an useless info to consider when fighting.

Can someone explain innate arcana/auto-cast in more detail to me? Does an auto-cast spell consume the base mana cost per auto-cast plus upkeep mana cost or is it auto-cast for free and there's only an upkeep cost each round? Is it something high priority that I should be trying to get at my level or just more of a convenience thing and I should save my credits for something more important? Thanks.

there is no casting cost, just the upkeep. getting IA to III was my first priority since it leaves you with more mana and less time spent at the beginning of random encounters, so if you play a lot of them on higher difficulties it's well worth it

I wanted to answer this one because, for the longest time, I was confused over the wording IA's description. The latter is correct.

The spell you put on autocast will constantly be active, and it consumes a little bit of MP during each action you take. For example, if you set Haste on IA, it won't spend 100 or whatever MP at the beginning of each round - instead, Haste is always active, and it drains a small amount of your MP each time you attack, etc.

The MP drain is very manageable with Mana Draughts.

At your level, I'd focus on picking up serviceable equipment first, if you haven't already.
