It's quite decent for grindfests, as the number of mobs is practically double the average from arenas, so I might just ditch PFUDOR arenas after the event ends and just do 2 Hellfests and PFUDOR DwD if there's still time for it.

My daily token average will be abysmal, but I can just get tokenizer to make up for that later on.

Getting enough soul fragments daily will be my only issue...

QUOTE(Scremaz @ Apr 13 2017, 13:55) *
probably. but see it this way: you have to pay back 2.8M gambling on that +1% chance on such a random thing. with today's prices (24k? alright, let's be optimist...), 2.8M = 117 artifacts. but we're reasoning on +1% chance, so you'll earn them back with... hmmm... +11700 artifacts, and only if you're sure they come exactly from that tiny raise (which we will suppose it is, since we're optimist)? feel free to point out anything that seems wrong, but otherwise good luck (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

btw, situation doesn't chance too much if you consider EDs - even if with a static 20% chance.
This is exactly the question Income Summary was created for. How many grindfests until Archaeologist 7 => 8 pays off?

The calculation is quite simple

I have a LARD.

I go for pen5 - just because pen rules. Redwood really, really needs the counter-resist.
and then spellweaver, because at pfudor-fest the last 200 rounds give me so much incoming damange it hurts.

If you don't PFfest, then I guess Archmage could be better than spellweaver for a LARD.

I now have Pen5 Spel2 Eco2, just because the IW of my LARD is very, very tough.

Runs/Shards? I thought my 5:4 run on Peerless Shocking Willow Staff of the Curse-weaver @ 93 runs, 185 shards was bad, but actually I think its still statistically lucky. The first initial run is the most annoying, wasting stamina @ hell difficulty :<. I think the best IW advice is from vivi at not trying to force the potencies to come out but to run it over a couple of days.

With staff I can't survive 700+ even with scrolls ><, so I just run it with 1h mage @ 15k turns/clear, no consumables except enchants, running with staff + escape is still much faster but not finishing triggers my OCD.

Thanks, I guess I'll go your route of pen5 and then 4 of whatever then.

Is pen 5 really that important?

I got pen4, sw3, ann2 and I don't really want to go through the pain of doing some more IW with it (good enough right?)

If you want to play on PF, and if you want to use Imperil, then go for Pen 5. I wouldn't settle for 4.

If you don't want to play on PF and you don't use Imperil then Penetrator is much less necessary.

Hi!

I have just been playing without thinking much about gear, stats, and abilities and made a DW/Light armor build and stuck with it up until now. What I am asking is simply what to think about and what gear to buy that is better than what is offered in the Equipment Shop where I have gotten all my gear thus far.

Here are my stats, current gear and abilities. The abilities i have enabled are all leveled as far as my level allows.
The level on the gear ranges from 149 to 177.

Attached Image

I can currently grind on hard difficulty on what seems to be forever with pots and up to about level 60 on nightmare. On higher difficulty things start oneshotting me.

use axe of slaughter as mainhand - even if something with less BUR would be better, but try this way. as offhand, rapier, shortsword, waki... whatever has parry.

Ok, will do!
Does the rest look ok or have I missed something?
And where do I get bindings to upgrade my gear more?
I also cannot find where to buy gear for my level, they are all for lvl 250-450.

seems relatively fine. try to look for prefixed weapons, if possible. btw, seems i misread your level a bit, my bad (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) another option you have is - since you'll still need to look for a weapon with parry - to look in particular for a rapier and a shield, to switch to 1H style. you should be able to afford higher difficulties in an easier way.

Bindings are for sale in WTS section of the forum. Or get monsters in monster lab and they may bring them to you as gifts.

Gear for your level is hard to come by. Look in the WTS section. Maybe even install Superlatanium's Smart Search script to find them in there. FreeSHop is always an option (be careful not to offend the shop keeper, just read the rules). But in general: it's very hard to get good gear at low level, because low level players can't play as much rounds as high level players. Thus, less drops available at low level, and less gear available.

I can currently grind on hard difficulty on what seems to be forever with pots and up to about level 60 on nightmare. On higher difficulty things start oneshotting me.

The major issues about your current build is your low evade, low parry and using the same weapon on both slots.

The low evade comes from the high burden caused by both weapons that aren't ethereal prefixed(have no burden nor interference) and from the normal leather armor which still has burden, opposed to shade, which is the rarer type of light armor.

The low parry comes from having no parry in your weapons at all, depending only on the bonus given by DEX.

You currently have two good options that can make your gameplay better.

As you are almost at level 200, you can get a rapier and a shield and start grinding 1H proficiency until level 200 when you get a new supportive spell, Spirit Shield, which makes dangerous attacks at higher difficulties bearable.

After that you can change your armor to heavy, as magical attacks won't be an issue anymore, and then start looking for power armors for the additional damage bonus they give, where rapier of slaughter+ force shield+power armor of slaughter is one of the most popular builds currently due to it's tankyness and great attack power, making playing at PFUDOR something doable instead of only a faraway dream.

The other option is in case you like the light armor and DW style.

For your weapons, you should never use two weapons that have the same equipment procs.

In higher difficulties where monsters have more health, it's good to use a rapier for the Penetrated Armor proc to help killing them faster, so you can either use a Rapier of Slaughter on your main hand as the main damage, or a Rapier of the Nimble on your off-hand slot, as off-hand weapons get a nerf to their attack, but also get a bonus to their parry.

The other weapon is up to you, but for a start, rapier of slaughter+wakizashi of the nimble should be a good combo that offers a decent tankyness.

Getting ethereal weapons is the best choice so your evade isn't affected by your burden.

The only problem with DW is that monsters can parry your attacks, so you will probably need to go through your weapons' Item Worlds to get some Overpower potency levels.

For light armor, you would need to start looking for shade pieces to replace for the leather ones, so your evade isn't affected by your burden.

I also cannot find where to buy gear for my level, they are all for lvl 250-450.

You get bindings and materials as gifts from your custom made monsters from the Monster Lab.

You can also buy them in the forums WTS section, or make a WTB thread in the WTB section.

For gear, since the implementation of levels on dropped equipment and soulfusing, it's quite difficult for low level players to get decent upgrades, even by buying them on the forums.

You can check FreeShop and see if you can get some upgrades from there, or just focus on leveling up until you reach the range where equipment becomes more available to you.

+Edit

Also, in case you aren't using the Heartseeker spell, slot it's ability and start using it, even if you don't get a channeling proc.

It gives you +25% damage, so it's completely worth it's high mana cost.

+Edit II

You should also consider continuing with the Adept Learner training whenever you have some extra credits.

It also seems like your spike fire shield ability doesn't have any points added to it, so look into that.

I want to change playstyle from Mage to Two-Handed since I feel like I had a very hard time playing as a mage at my level, but I've invested heavily into Int/Wisdom so is it preferable if I just switch my playstyle with the mage-ish stats?

Make a new persona. The new persona can be the melee one.

You can create a new persona on your character page in the HentaiVerse, and invest the stats according to the melee style while keeping your original mage persona with it's own stats as well.

Changing to 2H is a good choice, as maging only becomes viable on higher levels, when you can slot ability points in your magic spells, and with great gear to support the "glass cannon" core of maging.

2H will only be good until close to level 200 though, when monsters start getting stronger, so the number of parries will raise a lot and relying mostly on evade, resist and almost no parry, 2H will take a lot of damage.

After getting the new supportive spell Spirit Shield on level 200, it's advised to switch to 1H+shield+heavy armor, as it's tanky enough for higher difficulties, so it'd be good to start grinding for 1H proficiency before hitting level 200.

You can read what I said above on the previous page too, as it's mostly the same, but I talk about DW instead of 2H.

In my experience, adding a 1h + heavy in the 170s, I was able to handle hell difficulty with relatively simple spell sets and ordinary gear, whereas 2h + (whatever) had issues with anything fancier than nightmare.

It's worth having a 1h + heavy persona in hand.
