Of course you're going to run out on things to spend AP on; there are only so many ability tiers after all. Even if players didn't spend any credits on Ability Boost, they would still eventually max out all the ability tiers. All it boils down to is a matter of when it happens rather than if.

Going on leveling alone, you would max out all your abilities at level 627. If you max out Ability Boost, that brings you down to 527. If you get a decent amount of Artifacts that provide bonus AP, that brings it down even more.

Um, when you get to around 40 levels, then each one costs about that much. But all together for the first 40 is pretty expensive. The time it takes to complete training helps though. usually if I do all my dailys and sell my unwanted equipment, I have enough for the next level. And if not, then the time it takes to finish training leaves you ample time to grind out some credits.

Oh and some one mentioned about not getting the exp boost because of proficiencys. Well thats not the reason I don't put any ap into that. Its because The longer it takes me to level up, the more credits I can obtain. It doesn't really seem that important though. But I like to make sure I can afford atleast one training for ap for each level.

Maybe when I have all the useful spells/buffs/debuffs, I'll spend credits and ap on exp.

Are the elemental resistances worth it btw? I don't really think so unless you have enough ap for everything. I mean, I have to get inferno and meteor maxed just to open up the the resistance slots. Even as a mage, I think its pretty useless to have 2 of the same elemental spells. Sure one would be cheaper to cast but thats 6 ap that can go towards anything else. Not only that, but it seems that most critters hardly ever use magic. But I guess if your level 527, no harm in getting them.

higher level you are, the more credits you can make.

don't worry about elemental resists.

e: so if i were to reiterate, the longer it takes you to level up, the MORE credits you're MISSING OUT on (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

@miala how long does the legendary 1-49 iwbth take you?

yeah i mean the first 49 rounds. 20-30 turns is not bad. it takes me roughly around there if i stick to tier 1 spells/ET the elementals. keep in mind i have to cure like a mofo when they hit me

I am using an Eth mace. A crappy one, yes, but its still Void. Others will have even more trouble grinding dem arenas on IWBTH.
Also its quite hard to clear a round of 5 enemies if Heartseeker went down and there is no Channeling proc nearby.
Round of 3 enemies in 240 lvl arena (x3 EXP multiplier) with both Eila and Lissy yields approx. 1 million exp depending on the third enemy.

the only thing that should slow a melee macer down is the giants. rest of the monsters should fall to the crushing splash. for a mage there'll always be multiple monster types slowing us down since elemental resists are increas-able. although people will say "mages damage are omg pwnzer" which is true, it still takes me a good ~7 magic missiles to take out an elemental (including crits)

to be more specific, i'm doing elemental magic for the legendary arenas. elemental almost guarantees 2+ monster types with 75+ resist to the main element

wind = beast/undead/machine/elemental
elec = neptuna/undead/avions/elemental
fire = dragons/elemental/machine
cold = undead/elemental/machine
holy = angels/machines
soul = machines
undead = demon/machines

now the short sighted people will naturally say "HEY some of those are 50%, not 75%" but we're dealing in the high PL leagues, odds are these guys *wiill* have 75% resist of that element, or close to that.

soul tears the rounds up nicely but the mana consumption is ridic. in my case, it's 3-6x the mana consumption compared to elemental magic. which means i'll be mana batterying more often than with elemental magic = more troublesome and not much of a speed difference in the long run

holy/dark uses about twice the mana for me and the speed difference is almost negligible.

almost dont forget i have to be 80%+ conscious the entire 49 rounds through. one slip = facemelt and there goes the arena.

slipping in melee is harder than winning the lottery nowadays with the mace

I haven't done a IWBTH legendary arena 1-49 in a while, but that seems excessive, maybe the monsters are tougher now? o_O

With my holy set what I used to do was Weaken the heavy hitters at round start and then start primary targetting soft targets first (Undead, Demons, Sprites etc). Pestilence did jack damage comparatively so it was used in rotation solely for the AOE dark debuff for extra damage. It'd take 13 godly mana pots to get to round 50 with no ET-ing, sometimes with a few pots left over to kill the legendary on round 50 (unless it was Konata).

Dunno. It takes 1-2 GSP and 1-3 GMP for me to clear 1-49 IWBTH. Sometimes I dont use any spirit pots at all, depends on my luck.

@ballistic hmm that seems weird. my banish doesn't do much more than my freyr against similar resist monsters (like the humans for example) so i go with the tier 1 wind since that's ridiculously economical mana wise. if i put in tier 3 it's way faster but i have to spend all my mana potions like you say.

i think it's a safe assumption to assume they're tougher now since resists are so much easier to pump and we get less fights with humanoids compared to before (man i want the days where it was only neptuna/pirate bird/eila/lise again T_T)

@miala if that's the case you could probably speed up your runs with infusions

cleared ROB 2nd tier with debuffs on normal but the monster hp is making spending potions a little uneconomical.

Maybe should wait until 200 to start ROB 3 token monsters

Higher arenas have higher exp modifiers.
1-49 rounds of Eternal Darkness at IWBTH = 49 rounds with 100x EXP modifier

It used to take under 1 channelled AF to clear, so that'd be about ~12 turns/round average. I seem to have a never-ending supply of godly mana pots O_o

That's Random encounter.
Go to seting -> advanced encounters --> choose HV encounters
If you go to any page in e-hentai.org every hour, you will see in ads space 'you have encountered monsters!' (something like that)
Click in and there's a 1-round battle.
