Yes that's something good to aim for, and the Vigorous Vitality (and Effluent Ether if you're a mage) hath perk if you haven't gotten it yet, it's very helpful to have.

Gold Star is actually a very good investment, in my opinion. I got it around level 250 or so. But I bought it with RL money. You get:

1m per week? Impressive at your level. By the way, if you realy want to go for GS, then it is best to first go for bronze (maybe even pay that one yourself? (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/duck.gif) ), then upgrade to silver, and then upgrade to Gold. That way, you get part of the benefits much sooner.

benefits of a bronze aren't that many. personally i'd skip it and go directly for a silver, but since you'll upgrade it anyways yep, that's a chance.

Which 'Fix' version are you on? I think 1.0.3 got at least 20 fixes (I'm on 20 and don't have the "cast at start of round" feature)

Cconsidering my original files, I think it's fix7.
Still, I don't see how Imperil as first attack cast in every round is any worse than the the spell rotation. Will still download fix22 though.

I've installed the fix22, and seeing what is in it, I hope I'll be able to get rid of Reloader, or at worst use only the vanilla Reloader. Gotta love that Innate Arcana line, it'll avoid me annoying stops when a scrolls expires.

Pretty much. Get a 1h weapon of the element of your choice. Imperil is completely necessary, of course. You have significantly lower damage output than a true mage, but with a shield you'll also be a lot more tanky. It's a much easier stepping-stone for lower level players.

well if you want more protectino you get the nimble. if you want mana conservation you go with battle caster.

actually a rapier is useless, since it won't be used for its PA effect. as it is to IW the weapon, since it won't add any good mage-based potency.
as already pointed out, the first choice is an elemental waki - nimble for safety, battlecaster for mana conservation. but if you go for battlecaster, i guess the shield *has* to be a buckler of barrier.
if waki isn't available, probably either a rapier or a shortsword are close second - but due to the high bur/itr they will affect your gameplay a bit more.
no third option.

i think i am gonna rent a VPS. its really hard to find a proxy that i can use for faster battle in arena.

Normal enough. You often need a pretty large sample size for low-chance events to approach their true probability.

It has pretty much the same drop rate, but notably higher drop quality (only really noticeable on equips). Mags are relatively common.
