Can someone explain to me what kind of build is 1H mage, and why would one use it over a normal mage?

well , you must use waki with elemental prefix and buckler (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) you need to choose 1 of 4 elemental build , never try to build 1H holy/dark mage ~ mana cost will make you bankrupt unless you run H@H (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)

QUOTE(nobody_xxx @ Nov 18 2016, 17:51) 45mins is just too slow for TT&T (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) 330ms still can bring you around 1.5t/s , not 4s/t (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) Yea i know, my internet is weird, it does whatever it wants to do. Whenever I try reasons with it, it just bitch-slaps me in the face. Good thing that it's not always on PMS...

Aye I use reloader 1.3.3b Sapo version with Crackling cast, HV dark skin, income summary on Firefox portable. Well the 4 second / turn only happens 30% of the time though

1h mage is a trade off between attack and defense. From my experience, it is only useful when: 1. You are switching from 1h to mage, and low in proficiency, so that you need a shield and 1h abilities for survival and grinding proficiency until it reaches cap. 2. You want to IW an equipment yourself. A shield is important for survival here. But 1h mage has many limitations: Staff is critical to mage. Not only MDB, but also Counter-Resist (+Dep. prof) My gear was Shocking Wakizashi Nimble + Reinforced Buckler Barrier + Phases

QUOTE(Nguoivohinh @ Nov 18 2016, 16:45) Low level players need to use 1H-Light, because budget (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif) Plate is cheap enough that 1H-Heavy is somewhat viable from low level. And past a certain point (where you can start equipping power) the difference in effectiveness is simply too big. Moreover having two sets costs a lot, so imho there is no real advantage in building 1H Light unless you want to go DW/2H also. QUOTE(gianfrix94 @ Nov 18 2016, 16:58) Can someone explain to me what kind of build is 1H mage, and why would one use it over a normal mage?
The build has been explained by nobody. The advantage is that Mages are literally made of paper, at high difficulties they cure a lot, and deep fests/IW are only possible with superior equipments/forging, high level and sometime even scrolls. 1H Mage on the other hand has significantly more defenses and can survive without investing a ton of credits. The disadvantage is your damage is cut in half and you're relying on Imperil spell to lower mitigations. Given how spells are stronger than melee attacks 1H mage still manage to be a pretty fast style, while being relatively safe.

If you're using Crackling I suggest switching to vanilla realoder. Not that it would change much.

err , you can turn off income and CC scripts , so just use reloader and hv theme (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) Income is great scripts but you don't need this scripts active all time (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) CC is better scripts for mage plus I always get mouse atk bug when use CC with reloader 1.3.3b (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) Try to use CC with vanilla reloader if you want to use CC and turn off that reloader 1.3.3b (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)

err , some players including myself get some weird problem/bug when use CC with reloader 1.3.3b , sapo (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) yes , CC is better with vanilla reloader (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif)

If you're using reloader 1.3.3b Sapo version, and you're not a mage, why would you use Crackling Cast, since mouseMelee is already included? If you're intent in using Crackling Cast anyway, use Vanilla Reloader. QUOTE(Nguoivohinh @ Nov 18 2016, 16:45) Low level players need to use 1H-Light, because budget (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif) it's a whole different situation. you're in sort of a transition but basically with no budget, so you go with said armors because: 1. Leather is allegedly jack-of-all, master-of-none kind of armor. still way better than Plate though 2. monsters are so weak and 1H (which you should be switching to at that point) is so OP that it makes up for the lack of ADB if compared with Power armors. so it's not even that bad of a choice. though once you level up enough, one should naturally switch to 1H Power for that ADB boost.

1H Plate is still better than 1H Leather (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) 1H Shade is shit compared to 1H Power, but shit shit shit shit...even though when I compared them the ADB difference was low, the difference was still huge. If you compare two proper sets, it's even worse. 1H Plate is slow too. If you take that in account, then 1H Leather is ridicolously slow...you'd better fist the monsters with plate (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) Evade and 1H don't get along (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)

and i'd like to know which is safer between 1H Leather and 1H Plate at mid-low levels. i don't remember to have seen many users whom we suggested 1H Leather at lv200 coming back and telling us "it's shit, anything else?". but i'd be really curious to know whether it's due to Leather actually having a better overall defense than Plate or to 1H being so broken that even fisting with bare hands may be good enough. i bet on Leather, but who knows. Spoiler text - Highlight to read...

If you want me to talk from experience, 1H Leather at my level isn't so good (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) If i play at Nintendo or higher a pair of solid hits is enough to send my HP in the red (i'm still using it though, for now). Somehow crackling cast boost my speed to 2t/s, so... yeah, why not I also got bugged when I use reloader sapo version with CC, the way to solve that is to change the Mouse Melee in reloader to False, and it should be fine Also I'm already using power armor right now, too OP QUOTE(gianfrix94 @ Nov 18 2016, 19:58) If you want me to talk from experience, 1H Leather at my level isn't so good (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) If i play at Nintendo or higher a pair of solid hits is enough to send my HP in the red (i'm still using it though, for now). You should also transition to power armor soon, at 250.
