which perks are worth collection, apart for VV and IA3?
i feel like IA3 and gold star's regeneration are already enough, so i don't plan to go for either IA4 and RR, so if the answer is one of these and nothing above i guess i will simply use Hath as currency

If you think you're ever going to try maging, EE for mana. It's less costly than other perks but is also nice for melee. There are a bunch of perks useful for heavy grinders (LGBD, Crystarium, Tokenizer) but that's probably not for you. 10% damage perk is very nice, if you don't have it yet, but the ones beyond the first take too long to pay off for anyone besides the rich.

Some things changed with 0.82 and the introduction of unlimited items with cooldown. I think this was one of them.

If you reset the ability you probably won't be able to get it back to max until you get to level 400.

As i remember with 1h 4+1 and 3+2 was ~same result for me. So you can simple look for good item in auc (with closer to Pmax prof roll) and buy it. And forge it later 25-30 times, because its quite cheap.

If you gonna change later for imperil style then (specially with prof perk) robe/pants/helm/gloves slots is ok. Not sure about boots, because its not very big. And if choose elec/wind element than pants/robe should be better, because maybe you ll find good willow staff which has nice stats, but low prof. So stronger slot ll compensate that.

UPD. About math, its not 42%, its full 42 points. So if monster has 65 mitg then with 1,0 prof factor (cap 50 mitg reduction) you ll reduce down to 65-50=15. Thats why with imperil we use reduced prof factor. -40 points from imperil and remain 65-40=25 is much lower than 50. Its just wasted.

because of my current rapier, it says 34 holy damage. is that mean 34% more damage with holy spell or 34 point ?

no spike shield? it won't change your life, but still quite free of an upgrade

34%, assuming you start with 0 EDB. If it was only 34 points, then when spells do 200k damage each, Phase would be kinda pointless.

For lots of damage, you need high EDB - a staff, and some good phase, and hopefully some forging of EDB and MDB - as well as Imperil. Without any of those, using the 1h method, you'll do a lot less damage, even if the playstyle is safer. (I was using Imperil + forged Destruction staff + 4 semi-forged Phase, 308 EDB total, + 2 damage perks, though only .82 prof_factor)

Yeah, 1h mage probably can't do than 80k or so, much less without Imperil. Hopefully your shield is good enough, since sacrificing so much damage means lots more incoming damage as well... Imperil would likely help clear speed a whole lot, but you don't want to use it.

Just tried one, 4:30 for an 86 round IWBTH IW. I can't handle PF except if there are no more than ~60 rounds.

2 damage perks, depreciating perk, elemental prof perk. After the first big investment into mage, the incremental benefits from upgrading is usually quite small, so don't assume that you need all of this just to get a playable setup.

i just blurted 30k - 40k damage (about 100 edb for 1 H in my head), when super show 300 edb can deal 200k.

Ive forgotten it works on pf, because we deal with big imperil part in combat.
Fast tests:

50 rounds of Hellfest without imperil.
Ordinary 3+2 mage - 2:40
Same gear with waki - 5:05
Waki with imperil - 4:31

50 rounds of pffest with imperil.
Ordinary 4+1 mage - 5:10
Same with waki - 6:10

It looks ok on pf with imperil, but definitely not worth on hellfest.

Oh, i missed auc... that surts staff was quite good and sold for only 600k. Its probably one of the best. And nice katalox for only 200k... damn.

Thats ok, you can use shard or simple more mp pots. It d be big problem with old pots, but now its unlimited. Its like to play 1h, but with aoe range.
