I started reading this thread from the beginning, and quickly realized that the info was way out of date.
How much of the info in the ehwiki is similarly out of date?
But to go on with my own problems and questions.
Magics seems a little too advanced to get into, so melee it is.
How hard is it to switch styles and armor? To make up for having used one kind of weapon style and one kind of armor for 25 levels or so, and then start with something new?
Or for that matter, start going magics when having 0.00 in magic proficiencies (not counting curative and deprecating)?
And how good are the different armor and weapon styles?
I was going heavy armor, but the general opinion early in the thread was that the burden on heavy armor makes it near useless when the enemies starts multiplying.
And then they recommended mixing, which doesn't really match with the ehwiki info, since you only get the armor proficiency bonus if you wear only armor from a certain class.
So for a melee warrior, is heavy armor bad? Or has the burden problem been fixed with the newer patches, so that it isn't too penalizing?
Or is light armor superior, not only being faster due to less burden, but also having resist and evasion to make up for the lack of mitigation somewhat?
And how does absorbtion and mitigation work? Does absorbtion first remove a set amount of damage, and then mitigation removes a percentage of what is left? Or does mitigation first reduce the total amount, and then absorbtion then a set amount of what is left (in effect, does absorption actually become better with high mitigation)?
And does shield (the spell) become much more powerful with heavy armor, due to higher base values to work with, or does it add a set amount, no matter your equipment?
Or is high shield spell that little extra that makes heavy armor good?
And then, to continue with my little game of 20 questions, weapon styles.
Which is best really?
Dual wield and rely on parry for defense, and hope for better damage with damage/accuracy increases from two weapons, and the occasional off-hand strike?
Or go with sword and board, with shield block providing defense and the counter-attack giving the damage increase?
Or to actually go wild and go with a two-handed weapon, hope to take them all down quick, and use a mace and hope that domino strikes keeps proccing stuns all over the place?
