They are now actually necessary. By default. the new droughts recover very little. The "Better HP/MP/SP" abilities vastly increases the amount restored from droughts.

Spirit theft isn't, just like ether theft isn't (except on SG), but the element itself is still quite good if a player is leveled/forged enough not to chug too many potions.

It is true. For any proficiency ratio (2.0, 1.8, 1.6, etc) it's easier to get there with the same equipment if player is at a lower level, than if player is at a higher level.

im sure i read somewhere that amnesia and some others only start to drop in hard+ just not on normal.. all of my anmesia shards were dropped in hard

For a 1-cotton build, I'm currently running with proficiency pants because that's my phase robe is better than my phase pants, and my cotton robe is only marginally better in proficiency than my cotton pants (0.04 prof factor difference when fully forged).

But if I find phase pants that I'm happy to soulbind, I'd probably switch to using cotton robe.

Really? Good to hear then. Cause I've been using a Prof Cotton Robe for a long time now (Couldn't find any good pant/glove/shoes piece). I just realised I also had these Legendary Jade Cotton Gloves of the Demon-fiend. crappy prefix again though
