Anybody knows if the elemental damage of a weapon gets boosted when that elemental proficiency gets forged in the weapon?

I think you mean elemental EDB. It wouldn't be by any remotely significant amount, so I wouldn't bother.

I'm confused about what type of damage does, there are cases of monsters doing physical elemental attacks as well as magical elementals, even magical physical i think...

Until now, i have assumed that weapons with prefix do physical elemental damage, and forge the elemental stat on weapon does nothing for melee and is only useful for maging.

It's confusing. But you can consider it like this:

Damage goes through {Physical or Magical} mitigation, and it also goes through {{Piercing, Crushing, Slashing} or {Holy, Fire, etc} or {void = 0}} mitigation. There could be any combination of those above, but in practice the vast majority of physical attacks do the expected piercing/crushing/slashing type damage, and the vast majority of magical attacks do elemental-type damage, though there are exceptions.

Tetron said that weapon strikes by the player are magic-type attacks, but it sounds weird and I haven't checked it yet.

i did, at low level. It has the best accuracy among 2h weapons. I missed a lot at that time.

cotton 3 is a robe - i doubt anyone would sacrifice the best EDB slot (best rolls + best multiplier) to have more proficiency, which can also be earned by forging any other piece. even replacing pants is so-so of an idea, but still less bad than robe.
not sure about ranges, but maybe cotton-4 and cotton-5 may be somehow lucky...

My experiment with Eco build in this patch says that it's very good for unforged mages. But the more you forge, the more useless it becomes. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

just wondering, every staff potency on the paper seems good enough. isn't it on the reality? and as for economizer, now that you can carry infinite amount of potions, isn't it a bit overestimated? (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

I'm not likely to ever get a better shield than this, am I? I want to know if I can start burning rare materials on it without concern.

go ahead. even with 'only' lv15 block, you may carry that shield for 100 levels or so.

In theory, many things are possible. In theory, you can Crit every turn or even Evade every single attack. But the question is: Can you do that in reality? (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

The base damage output of elemental strike depends on how much damage you deal with your main attack. PMI doesn't factor here for elemental strike. This was confirmed by someone from the admin circle. Forgot who.

Now at that situation, cast a Holy Spell and see if the 10% MMi reduction from that does anything to the elemental strike or not. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Yup. Elemental Mitigation and MMI. The only weird part in that is the absence of EDB in the damage output. Which is why all this confusion came up. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)

I think "good enough" is not well defined enough. There do exist exact optimal potencies for clearing speed or income speed - the question is how much a player can budget to spend towards getting closer to perfection.

Yeah, economizer is significantly more optional now.

Or look at past pages on this thread dealing with questions from lower-level players, most of the advice is very similar each time. If you have specific questions, ask here. If you're 1h, try rapier/heavy armor - Plate of Protection mostly, and gradually mix in Power equips as you level up and need less defense provided by Plate.

A quick question since I was away from the game for some times.
With the recent change in potions, does the "Better HP/MP/SP" abilities have any interest or were they rendered useless ?

They do exactly what they did before the change--increase potency. Higher potency means less usage. Less usage is a good thing, right? Right?!

Spirit theft isn't, just like ether theft isn't (except on SG), but the element itself is still quite good if a player is leveled/forged enough not to chug too many potions.
