and like i said earlier, you should talk to vasistas about stats/ability tree etc imo. he was melee up until recently and was roughly same level as you a month or so ago @cmdct i stand corrected (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) and i think ichy used melee a little that one time he decided to try out his vamp mace?

QUOTE(cmdct @ Jul 8 2011, 00:35) There's one guy, and I'm currently clearing some nasty IWBTH challenges with 2W. cmal, I don't know if he's melee retired player. Edit: No, I'm maging with mage gear to get moneys, and meleeing sometimes with mage gear for fun (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Grindfest? What is the best way to do that? I like melee because it's just the right thing for stupid people like me, just fucking the shit out of my keyboard with mace but IW take so long. I need like 20 minutes and more for 50 rounds exquisite IW on Hell. and in grindfest on heroic I barely reach round 80, even with haste on earth-walker and 28%4 mace. how do you manage making 200 levels and more in grindfest when you've to use your mana for both, killing AND healing?

I use every fighting style because there's nothing to do except being proficient in melee and mage.
Also, if you can't manage your mana as a mage, you're doing it wrong. I'm not even a real mage and I do my IWs using on average two Greater potions because I'm wasteful. If I played smart, I wouldn't need to use any.

That's a mystery to me. Even if you proc using magic missile or crushing with staff, you use mana. even if I had gold- and rainbow aura and spent a lot in WIS I'd end up wasting it all on regen and heal, especially since those pirate bird and neptuna came out of someones sandy vagina (I hope he doesn't read this (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/anime_cry.gif) ).

Same here. Although I mainly use melee to build up its proficiencies for testing purposes and trying out new builds.

One more question: I still fail to kill Yuki Nagato. Is there any reason for me to challenge Real life/unicorn/FSM or I will get steamrolled instantly?

This is kind of ironic, but I've just capped my staff proficiency. It's probably no coincidence that I just maxed Assimilator as well.

I'm interested to know what else you haven't maxed in training, excluding misc posting of course (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Most of the stuff that costs obscene amounts of credits in the last few levels.
Scavenger, Quartermaster, Archaeologist, Adept Learner. I'm pretty close on most of them though.

I have some difficulty choosing what to do next. Here's the problem. My adept learner costs about 10,000 credits now. I tried to approximate the cost for raising it 50 levels, and I found that getting white aura should be cheaper. It should cost about 1 million credits. Another way is to use that 1 million credits to raise Scavenger, LotD, Quartermaster and Archaeologist. All of them costs me 300,000 credits though, so I can only raise 1 level of each of them. Which way will the credits be better spent?

Depends what your goals are. If it's to gain more credits, then use them on what ever thing it is you gain credits from the most. I'll be frank though. The easiest path to gaining large amounts of credits is increasing your level quickly. Higher levels means more daily arenas and IW rounds, which will in turn get you more credits through items, equipment, artifacts, etc, and the ability to get farther in grindfest from having higher proficiencies, higher attributes, and stronger equipment. As an off-hand weapon, parry is more feasible?

What's the best way to take on Real Life as a pure mage (as in, no melee/penetrated armor/bleeding wound shenanigans)?
