I recently got this shield, should I soulfuse it and spend my bindings on it, or should I wait until I get a Force one? Also, is this staff worth auctioning?

For light armor, look for Leather of Protection, or Shade of Shadowdancer or Fleet if you think you already have enough defense. All must have Endurance.
In this patch I don't think there's all that much of an incentive to prefer light over heavy, or vice versa, for low-level players. You can probably go with whichever feels nicest. Though, once you get to level 150+, you'll probably be best off switching to 1h for the substantial extra defense, and then switching to Heavy/Power armor for offense. 2h becomes quite bad at any but the lowest of levels/difficulties.
So should I go for heavy + 1H set then? or doesnt it matter if ill play with light or armour in high level? what pair of one handed weapons should i use later on? also the one above said, the proficiency increases until lvl 250... so it wont get any higher once i reach lvl 250? should I level really slowly and increase all proficiencies to its max before reaching lvl 250? or was he refering to the proficiencies max lvl of 250? is there something else to watch out for while leveling ?

heavy (power) + 1H is something that works really good for lv > 200, but you still have to reach that milestone someway. 2H (mace?) + leather/plate armors may be a good choice for low levels when you'll start with 1H you may find that an axe (for high ADB) or a club (to make up for the low number of counter-stuns) may be viable, but sooner or later you will want to switch to rapier proficiency will continue to raise until you reach level cap - so if your level is 250, maximum threshold is 250; if it is 400 then 400 while leveling you should really watch out for the loss in ADB/PABs due to level-bounding. i don't know how much you will lose for every level up, but i guess that every 10~20 you'd better replace weapon

Imho Heavy or Light won't feel much difference in terms of defense at your current level however you will notice the difference as you get higher. Before 0.82 patch superior light very often have 4 PAB but now after patch everything less than magnificent are 2 PAB max. I switched to heavy at about lvl 150 didn't feel really any better (actually feels worse since mana cost increased substantially and most of my armor were 1 PAB compared to my old 4 PABs light set) at the time especially since prof was 0. But it does get a LOT better I guess as you level prof up and get power. Speaking of prof as Scremaz said you prof caps at your current lvl but the lvl 250 is the limit for Newb Bonus which is great to take advantage of at you level. So basically your prof trains much quicker when you are below lvl 250. Actually I find the prof slowed down close to lvl 200. How this work from my experience is: from memory when I trained my magic prof I got 0.05 prof gain on spell cast instead of the usual max of 0.03 due to the Newbie Bonus. Also the chances for prof gain appears to be increased. So really what you want to do is like train up all you magic prof and staff prof up to your lvl cap whilst you are below this lvl250 threshold otherwise it take slightly longer to train later on. I only mentioned the magic prof because they seem to take forever to train and that you may or may not want to start maging later on. EDIT: Lol at contradictory sentences in my post. Forgot to mention one more thing. I will take a 1h weapon that has parry (if you don't have rapier even something like the hated shortsword) rather than get high ADB (like axes). I say this because I've tried wielding weapons with no parry on high difficulty RE and it seems to = higher chance of getting one-shotted on first turn (at least at low levels). It has no sense, because its something like up to ~15-20 turns. Much easier to cast imperil and kill in up to 3-4 t1 spells.

It's because I just remembered an extremely simple mage killing fix. Change the turn mechanic so monsters can attack before the player. Starting with a slow spell means monsters get to hit before dying.
Edit: HV is now in slow mode.

16ish +/-2 turns either way for me. QUOTE(qw3rty67 @ Jul 8 2015, 11:32) Change the turn mechanic so monsters can attack before the player. Starting with a slow spell means monsters get to hit before dying.
That already happens with t3 and full heal. Welcome to maging biatch. This post has been edited by EsotericSatire: Jul 9 2015, 00:55

QUOTE(EsotericSatire @ Jul 8 2015, 17:46) That already happens with t3 and full heal. I fooled around a lot just to make sure, and you never get hit before your attacks land no matter what you do. I'm saying: - you choose slow action
- monster hits you
- action resolves
- monster hits you again if he's fast enough
Instead of: - you choose slow action
- what monsters? lol
This will affect melees too, albeit less drastically.

infusion should become infinite stacking and each use will reset duration! It should also gives some bonus to melee if casted during battle.
We need an infinity scaling mechanism so we can all enjoy being temporarily OP at an affordable price xD

Does monsters scale per turn? Was grinding staff proficiency in final stage of the 100 round arena then after 2000~ turns normal attacks that are going through a fully debuffed monster hitting me for a lot more than at the start.

QUOTE(omgwtflolfaggot @ Jul 9 2015, 00:32) Top: http://hentaiverse.org/pages/showequip.php...;key=1138716decBot: http://hentaiverse.org/pages/showequip.php...;key=f73ea3790cGOD. DAMNIT. Had the one on the top since before 0.81 JUST Found the one on the bottom. Dunno if I should switch or not. Should I? More block/parry, better str/dex/end, though it has no agi/mits. I've already invested a bit in the buckler (was going to reset/IW it, but havent had the time).... (cross post from equipment whining thread) The new one is definitely better. Huge upgrade in block is well worth loss of Agi and a tiny bit of specific mits. QUOTE(kyouri @ Jul 9 2015, 02:01) Does monsters scale per turn? I've only seen that sort of thing happen in Grindfest. Kodou Yuki on round 1 of Normal GF was starting to do spirit damage on every ordinary attack past turn 2000 or so. I didn't see the same sort of damage-increasing behavior in Arena or anywhere else, though.
