QUOTE(Namespoofer @ Jul 1 2011, 16:32) Interesting to note, my accuracy before modifiers is 91 atm. With modifiers I hit 99.5% of the time if I have Arcane focus on. I've got a destruction with a 13.29 base MDM but I'm not sure if it's worth the trade off my accuracy being 97%
Why don't you try in grindfest then? There's nothing to lose

i really use this staff Fine Ebony Staff of Focus from Level 61 to 200 then i change into Destruction staff i think this Focus staff have 4 advantage Magic Damage Multiplier + 22.23 % base 6.95 even 7-8 is very good 6.95 still enough Magic Accuracy Bonus + 49.80 % base 44.86 almostt 50% is good and 50 MAB is best in excess of 50 is not necessary Magic Critical Bonus + 5.31 % base 4.78 focus staff give me extra crit change it's very good even Firefox can die in one crit shot with Infusion of Flames Fire EDB + 11.30 base 2.09 this is most important , the soul of this focus staff primarily i always use fire magic so fire damage is very important how do you think it's just my experience i am not sure it's complete right but it really works (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

13.29 destruction sounds hot. i would personally go for the MDM over the 2.5% accuracy difference
like varst says, you could test it out and see the difference in your grindfest progressions. who knows, maybe there'll be an obvious difference of rounds
i think what's most important would be whether or not you plan on 1 shotting mobs (ie, what element you're running)
the only element i can imagine that reasonably (fire/cold/wind/elec) 1 shots the mobs right now is fire

I've got some questions about equipment. First off, how important is the Hit Proc to a weapon? I've been using this Superior Rapier of Balance for a long time because of it's 23% 3-turn Hit Proc (and its Attack Accuracy Bonus) and I'm currently too cheap to search for better, higher leveled equipment. (I just get all of my equipment from the Arena for now.) Would finding a higher leveled weapon with a less desirable Hit Proc chance/duration be better, or am I fine just using this for now? (I evidently suck too much to complete its Item World, even on Normal. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)) Secondly, I just found the Equipment Scaling Calculator, but I'm not sure what to make of it. I've scaled it to its Base Stats, but is there any way to compare them average Base Stats to determine if the weapon is actually any good or worth selling here on the forum? (Unlikely that anything of mine is actually worth anything, but just asking theoretically.) Or is this just a tool to determine if your equipment X is better than Y and by how much, even though X could be a terrible weapon despite being better than Y? 23x3 is a quite good, but "of balance" isn't particularly desirable, you want more attack damage

Why do people cherish rapiers/estocs so much? Is that armor penetration proc just THAT much good? I mean, bleed effect deals "true damage" unmitigated by defence aswell, right? So why armor pen instead of flat damage?

I don't think estoc's so popular right now. And if you're fighting monsters at higher difficulties, they'll have more hp than you can imagine. If you try to bleed them to death it probably will take at least 50 turns. That should be the reason why people like armor pen instead of high bleed. High bleed's still useful though fighting legends and gods.

When I used Rapiers I would DW with a bleeder, when PA procs, you deal more damage, if you crit+PA it would deal hefty damage.

I swear, everyone I see is a mage. Am I making a mistake by going 2h melee?
Which one is best for the endgame (ring of blood / flying spaghetti monster)? I was planning on going 2h + leather + support and depreciating

? there are a few meele fighters out there. i am one, miala is one and lots of other people.
lots of people change to mage from level 100 onwards, since it's easier and faster, but i dislike mages in rpgs and will stick to my 2h sword.
and FSM is supposed to be beaten by meelee, i think? didn't somebody say a high-bleeding weapon is a must or something lke that?

No, bleeding's not a must to kill FSM. Mages can poison FSM to death just like how melees do. QUOTE(hitokiri84 @ Jul 3 2011, 01:26) I found the conversation about Cure > Regen to be quite amusing. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) I reviewed the conversation again, and found they have missed an important point; regen can be channelled (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I'm still melee, until I can get the gear to fight on the same level as my mace I won't switch. I do fight FSM daily with what mage gear I do have though, far quicker.

I'm still melee too but I fear I won't be able to keep up much longer. My best mage gear is worse than trash (except for a staff I bought recently) so I don't know if I'll ever be able to fight as a mage at the same level. I do try to raise my Elemental/Forbidden/Divine proficiencies, but I can't help but think that it might just be a waste of time.. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

Alright. I'll keep an eye out for some good Rapier of Slaughters then. What about my question about the Calculator though? Cause I've got stuff that I probably won't use, but seems to sell for a bit more than the rest of the equipment I get from the Arena in the Bazaar (although it's only selling for around 200-300 as opposed to less than 100 credits anyways, so can they really be any good?). Or would just posting their stats here be a better way to have them judged?

Do you, by any chance, want this? >_>; Perhaps just until you find something better?
