yeah thanks, i got confused by the aura descriptions. So there's no actual gain by training power tank, except the addition power.

Yeah, all you get from power tanks are a minimal spirit bonus and higher karma imbuement o_O
Not really worth it actually.

All the better anyway: if you're interested in increasing experience gain, Adept Learner is quite cheaper to train than Power Tank ^^

Fox armor increase your INT, which will in turn increase your magic rating
So it will increase any type of damaging spells

Well, that's because Power Tank is maxed out at level 20 while Adept Learner has a grand maximum of 300. Anyway, at SneakyGray's level (more or less my one too) there should be no comparison ^^

Exact calculation is slightly complicated by the fact that Power Tank give a fixed bouns amount per point while Adept Learner gives a percentage bonus, but Adept Learner's 51th level costs just slightly more than a half of the very first Power Tank level (1179 to 2000 credits). I'd say it's quite convenient to assume that Adept Learner is cheaper until you get to the very end of the scale ^^

good to know the scaling for adept learner (too lazy to use the EH calculator), but first all my money will be spent on archeologist/quartermaster/scavenger. I need my precious loot :>

Hmm, Archaeologist... Now that's a skill that's quite costly to train ^^ I took a couple of levels in it, but then I stopped 'cause I find it really too costly for what it gives. I'm going for Scavenger and Luck of the Draw now. Anyway, consider that Scavenger itself increases the chance of getting anything at all, so practically increases the chances of getting any sort of loot, equipment and artifacts included.

Not really at the end of the scale, more like lvl 150 Adept Learner is about equal to lvl 20 Power Tank.
But yeah, Power Tank is nearly useless anyway.

You'd better train LOTD too, or else you're just gonna get a mountain of useless crap.
Around 10-15 LOTD is a good minimum to aim for.

I see threads discussing equipment mention "base" usually as a number (percentage?). When linked to the item, I never see this base number. What am I missing here?

You need to install this script in order to see the base number of the equipments. The base number only shows up in a popup window, and it will NOT show up in the HV.

Update: Did I just get ninja? >_<
Update again: OK, it is different.

For now, anyway. One day, we might be using 50 as the base reference.

Based on your research in equipment mechanics. Instead of using the catch-all scaling factor that mkonji first posted, in the future we might be able to use more accurate methods that take both of actual factors used in equip stats into account. Or something. I dunno.

mmm I don't understand you this time, cmal (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

was looking for opinions on hath perks from a few people if possible.

Black Aura vs Organized Mind vs IA x2

i think i read somewhere people suggesting penny pincher as well but yeah... i dont' think i'll be recuperating that cost any time soon esp if it's just 1% difference on everything

likewise for crystal perk. i'm not dropping that many crystals atm so doubling them would make "barely any" to "barely any"x2

main reason i'm putting up this question is because the elemental rating on the black/white auras make them less appealing compared to before since 5% resist isn't really "wow". still has the +3 to 3 attribs and the 50% exp and 10% + max but is it still worth being "first perk"?

because organized mind might also be a decent candidate since it stacks the 10% exp but i'm not sure if difficulty bonus is simply added to aura/trainer bonuses or if it affects "raw exp" that'll stack multiplicatively with aura/trainer bonuses. (in the first case, organized mind might be better than black/white aura whereas in the second case the black/white auras would probably be better with my current exp bonuses)

thanks ^^

I thought you might be talking about something like that, in which case I don't think it makes sense to use level 50 as the "base". Although it looks as though the level scaling factor works on a "per 50 levels" basis, we have it from the horse's mouth that the base scaling factor corresponds to level 0:
QUOTE
The first scaling factor (base factor) is applied to calculate the base "level 0" stat of the weapon.

Of course, if you want to rewrite your calculator to match the way HV actually does it, that's up to you...
