HV has taught me the basics of the RNG-RPG genre and is the reason why I understand and enjoy manhwa like "The Gamer" or light novel like "The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor" so much nowadays. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/wub.gif)
Before HV, the only RPG games I played were Pokemon games. (Good old days)

For the next chapter of "Forging 101 - PAB forging for DPS" I need some information how level 300+ mages spend XP on INT and WIS, especially the ratio. Do you prefer a
a ) 1 INT : 1 WIS ratio, say INT = WIS
b ) 2 INT : 1 WIS ratio, say INT = 2 * WIS
c ) 3 INT : 2 WIS ratio, say 2 * INT = 3 * WIS (seen on Katalox)

I know that is quite a nerdy question, but I have no mage and try to sqeeze out a sweet spot, when to stop DPS forging and start PAB forging to gain DPS. Maybe I am to write all 3 ratios, if there is no majority for one ratio found.

Forging PABs give very little ADB/MDB at my level.

Sure, but it is like comparing 48 times forging DPS to 5 times forging INT on a staff / phase

I am becoming more convinced by the day that the equip drops gap between the rich and the poor in HV is too much. When I was a lower level, I used to think that once someone was capable of PF on arenas, they would occasionally find something nice, but that seems not to be the case. ....Hundreds of real dollars (euro, etc) worth of credits are necessary for that. I know that's the ultimate point of HV, but it's still quite disappointing from the player's perspective - for those who do not have such real-life resources, yet want to have a good experience with HV.

There is no equip drop gap between the rich and poor. Good drops are completely random; though I have some theory about diminishing returns (but that is for another day). The reason you see high level players dropping nice things is because they spend all hours of the day sitting in front of the computer playing HV, and gaining levels. The two go hand in hand. Play all day => get good drops => level fast.

There was a time about a year and a half ago, when drops were plentiful and people obtained many good things. I call that 'The Golden Age.'' But then for some reason, the well dried up and now we are forced to endure no returns on our investment of time. This is why I refuse to play anymore. I only collect my daily bonus, but for what reason, I don't know.

The disappointing reality is that even with max loot trainings, you aren't going to find anything worth selling most of the time, especially if you're hoping to find that big-ticket item that will sell for millions.....The players who are truly rich have some sort of tangential way to make money that doesn't involve actually playing HV on a regular basis.

I've really only dropped 3-4 nice gears my entire time here. I had to put cold hard cash into EH, and mucho time running/troubleshooting a crapton of servers, to actually get somewhere (and thanks to two players who paid for half my catgirl badge (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ). What's crazy is that so many hours spent playing = 3-4 nice gears. Imagine those players who haven't put in any of their own money, yet traded for a catgirl badge, purchased or dropped Leg/Peerless gears, have 100+ monsters, all at 1300 level or higher. How many hours have they put in? (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/faint.gif) I applaud them for their persistence, dedication, and effort. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

as for light users, well - i guess swift really is useful. do someone own a lv10 swift strike DW build to check the gain in attack speed? judging from my build and light spped lv1 ability it seems less or more additive gain, but waiting confirmations

it's multiplicative gain.
DW isn't usable on high difficulty without at least swift strike 6 imo. the parry bonus isn't enough to stop you from getting one shotted.
SS 5/FA 4 or vice versa are probably best builds, but good luck getting that + holy/dark strike if you have ethereal weapons

i'm currently sitting on 1 leg/year, but i don't play as much as i used to and my LOTD is only 18.

speaking of Legendaries, I got 3 this month. 2x Leather of Protection, 1 Cotton of Crap, all PXP 348/349 - the crapiest of all Legendaries...

i gave up grinding for my own drops a long time ago. after a certain point, you'll have to duke it out in auctions to get what you want. though, the auctions don't always have what you want and you'll have to wait for weeks/months and bid against all those millionaires. to get those millions, you'll need to grind until your brain becomes numb.

PAB forging is for luxury purpose only. The gain from forging them is not so much. But then again, if one have the moola lying around, they may very well go for that minimal gain.

agree but tbh, END is quite nice to forge - for example, is the only other stat that i forged on my shield apart block. it won't be so much, but at least you will immediately see its effect. same goes for WIS, i guess (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Thats quite interesting. Sad thing in my native language its far away from full translate and in eng its a bit tough to read. Probably i should learn a bit better.

If you don't spend a lot of time on HV, what do you do to maximise exp/credit gain?

Do you do 1-2 arenas on high difficulty or as much as possible on low difficulty?
