QUOTE(dcherry @ Jun 3 2011, 00:41) Mmm problem is those monsters often stack craploads of damage since I'm trying to grind on normal/hard. Doing tons of rounds = waste of stamina on low difficulty. Doing higher difficulty = getting raped cause your damage suffers and they stay alive/agitated longer.
So far I'm doing this: Heading into RoB/Boss fights (ie Dalek/etc whoever is at end of Endgame and Twisted Plots and I literally smite the bastard to death with my Ele gear on. Death by 100 dmg smites! ^^ Once they hit agitated state I finish them off with their elemental weakness.
No loss of stamina either since it's just "1 round"
Was hoping for a better method but it's ok so far.
Just do all your daily non-boss arenas by spamming condemn/smite. I'm training my forbidden prof by doing this with soul reaper. Here's exactly what I do: (Just replace soul reaper with whatever single-target holy spell you use) For the 700 and 800 credit arenas, the first couple rounds start with 2 enemies each, I'd spam soul reaper there, making sure to weaken anything that's resistant. Use regen if necessary. Once the uncommons start showing up, switch back to elemental spells, then use soul reaper to mop up any survivors. For 400, 500, and 600 credit arenas, it starts with 3 enemies right away. I find it too much of a hassle to attempt prof. spam here, so I just start with elemental spells, and clean up with soul reaper. I end up with a lot of extra mana in the last round, so I use these rounds to train supportive instead of forbidden prof. The 300 credit arena is exactly the same as the 700 and 800 credit, except a lot shorter. I follow the same strategy as a result. From 200 and below, I switch to my full earth-walker set. I throw up haste and shield (and shadow veil if necessary, I have it on IA) then spam soul reaper on everything. I still need to use weaken on monster-lab crap I can't kill in less than 3 hits. This is where I rack up a lot of prof gains. With your earth-walker buffed shield spell, any non-monster lab creatures can't really do any damage to you, so you can leave those for last. Target the monster lab stuff first, throw up regen when low on hp, and if you start running low on mana, switch back to elemental to finish up the arena.

Sweet. I'll try it out. Thx for the help ^^ Won't be doing the EW part since I don't have a full set yet but I'll definitely try incorporating smite more into my normal arenas.

I have a question: with the new drain weapons is it possible to have it proc multiple times from a 2 hand weapon domino strike? or does the drain only effect the primary target?

I forgot where I read it, but I believe it only triggers once. I remember hypothesizing about doing the multiple life drain back when I was using 2 handed (mace+vamp = forever grind?)

QUOTE(whzx5byb @ Jun 3 2011, 13:29) Are you sure? Once I found a fact that when I change my main-hand katana for another one-handed weapon which has lower damage the total damage becomes higher on the contrary. How to explain?
You sure you equip Wakizashi in offhand along with the Katana? If so, it may due to the fact that off-hand weapons in Niten (Waki) have lower damage, because offhand in Niten add only 25% damage VS DW 50% (Both can be increase by prof). This post has been edited by buktore: Jun 4 2011, 01:09

Give me some advice! I am going to switch to doing both melee and mage soon (so I can experience more facets of the game). I have low proficiencies in any magic outside of cure and depcrecation. I was just looking around for a staff and I wanted an opinion. Is this staff any good for me? http://hentaiverse.org/pages/showequip.php...;key=14c9c52f89-Vakuen

If you're going for a battlecaster build, don't go all shade unless it's of the Arcanist. Shade (especially of the Shadowdancer) typically has high interference that messes with your magic.

I'm thinking of supporting two different suits of armor. One specifically to enhance one particular element and magical bonuses and the other to be melee light armor. I'm not currently thinking of actually doing both at the same time, though that is a thought. Certainly it would be easier to keep my proficiency up in all areas at the same time if I was doing both...Anyway, I want to first take out the gods as a melee before I think seriously about how I plan to work my character. Anyway, what do you think of the staff? It's not "great" in anything but its not bad in anything and has a decent proc rate, I think. -Vakuen

Well, with the buff to staff proficiency you probably can go and do something like a monk or battlecaster. Damage output on both ends should be decent if done right and when keeping your profs at a high level. Also I think the etheralness of it makes you even more suited for it. Can't hurt, either way. Plus, you won't have as much of a hassle with giants and mechs as you still have elec magic for that (mechs are pretty resistant to soul).
It's worth a try, definitely.

Would it wise to keep the trophies I've obtained from bosses until I'm higher level? since at higher levels I'll get better item rolls from the shrine and won't replace the gear as easy?

that's perfect ET proc i believe (chance wise, anyway) most staves are capped at 40 with the exception of redwood at 50 from what i've seen. and what gear you go will depend on your preference a lot. when i first started maging i went with a focus staff and elemental gossamer. (although i've heard some higher levels - or maybe just 1 higher level - advocating that focus is always useless)

Is there any reason not to go mage and use soul vs Real Life? I usually use my exquisite club and an axe, though I'm also considering double clubbing for attempt at 100% stun.

Most are just going to use the setup that kill in the fewest turns.

Highlight cursor over item (stats will flash) Press C new window should pop up with stats of the item. the url of that window = link for the item at least, that's how it works on firefox for me.

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) If I'm not mistaken, now it increases your resistance against elemental attacks.
