the arctic longsword is nice if you're still using 2H (but swift is useless, try to reach fatality or overpower; butcher as well, but damage is already high enough, so you have the luxury to look for other potencies)

I was just curious which difficulty level I should be using at my level, I've been using hard and Im with full exq staff/cloth gear. Oh yeah, and how do I grab links for my equipment?

imo you should switch to melee, mage is more high-end tier (since most of the abilities required will be unlocked at higher levels). but if you actually intend to go on this path, then i guess nightmare or hell may be some hard walls


btw, does someone own an old exq/mag hallowed/astral (holy strike) shortsword/dagger of the nimble?

Yep. 4 PAB leather with nice stats is great before level 150.

I think heavy armor is pretty difficult for low level players because they often don't have maxed Pack Rat, and also have low Supportive proficiency, so the high interference and low buff duration causes them to run out of mana very quickly. Higher level players have higher proficiency, items, and MP tank, and so are more able to use heavy armor without running into those problems.

Cloth armor has low defense, which is a problem for low players since they don't yet have the clearing potential to eliminate the monster packs quickly before they do some serious damage (which is how efficient mages should work).

Set the difficulty as high as you can without creating serious survivability problems. Melee players with decent basic gear can usually do Hell/Nintendo/Battletoads at your level (though that drops down a level or two once they start running into the exponential PL curve and start fighting PL 400+ monsters regularly). I agree with Scremaz, mage is significantly harder than melee before having a very high level and great equipment.

To get equipment links, hover over the equipment, press C to open the equip page in a new window, and copy the address bar.

I agree with Scremaz, mage is significantly harder than melee before having a very high level and great equipment.

I checked not so long time ago and its still very tough. Mage has so awesome potential, but req to equip is also very expensive. Difference between average melee and high melee maybe in few times, but difference between average mage and high mage could be easy be 4x+, because mdb and edm scales from each other.

imo, the Mage start out cost is a bit high & require more perks. in order to be a somewhat compentant mage (in terms @Hell), you'll probably need a few million credits. however, you still can't do most bottom 2nd pg Arena @PF.

on the other hand, if you spend the same amount on 1H, you can clear all non-SG arena's @PF. probably, even the 1st &2nd SG @PF too.

No need to have anything good and/or hath perk. I just keep play Hellfest. Most of the time die before round 200. Then looking for players who are buying figure/pills/scrolls etc. And i can still keep my crystal.

BTW, my connection to HV is not that bad at that moment. (1.3-1.5 turn/sec)
