I'm fairly confused about the Monster Lab system. What's the point of blowing thousands of credits on crystals? Do we have any idea what the eventual personal benefits of the system are? Cause from what I've read, there's really nothing to gain from it, but maybe I'm missing the point?

Its unfinished content, like just about everything else in HV.

I don't think we will find that out until later. Maybe at some time the monsters will be ranked on the Top Lists and then you'll get something each month like the other ones. Maybe for each win/kill you get something too.

Seriously, i don't think there will be a toplist for the monsters, otherwise only those who already have very high level in HV will win It seems more probable if you can get credits/equipments for each win/kill

Player-made monsters actually kill other players? Every single randomly named monster I've ever run into has died to one Banish or Elec spell. I guess that's why I don't understand the point.

Until they can be upgraded, there's a break-even point where Lab monsters go from omghard to being indiscernible from normal mobs. You're way beyond that point; its mostly lowbies who are complaining.

Its not just that- I have three PITIFULLY WEAK monsters that have barely been upgraded at all (particularly the third one) and they have been in a fair number of successful battles and even gotten some kills.

i havent had much difficulty with any of the new monsters being retard strong but i did have a little trouble tonight in one arena with bunko. i lived only to die in the next round cause i ended up short on mana and items. it was my fault though for not bringing more items, i got overconfident.
anyway, i was just wondering what new deprecating/supportive spell becomes available at level 70 and is it worth sinking AP into? i want to know ahead of time so i can have enough AP to fill out that tier. i currently have 8 AP unspent so i will have at least 13 when i reach 70, maybe more.

Bewilder becomes available at level 70. It prevents critical hits from magic attacks and reduces their damage by 50% when maxed, which is important for bosses; right now I have to rely on Scroll of Warding when dealing with Manbearpig to avoid being one-shot by its spirit attack. Unlike Silence, I think Bewilder can be used in tandem with Weaken as well, but I could be wrong. Level 70 also makes available Regen I and Item Slots IV, which you'll probably also want to pick up. http://ehwiki.org/wiki/Abilities---- On a similar note, are Blind and Absorb worth picking up? I can't really make up my mind, especially about Absorb. This post has been edited by n125: Apr 4 2011, 10:39

There's a good use for every set.

In the past I had a leather helm good enough to use against RL. So it was useful, until I got a better fleet cap that is. The point is, Shielding Aura can drop as Kevlar, so it's perfectly possible with a good one piece being better than any fleet. Not that I saw any piece like that until now.

Do you happen to know of any? Enough that it'd make you want to invest in some good proficiency gear, I mean. I have a junk priestess/EW set that I slap on when grinding staff/cloth proficiency, but I don't think upgrading it will do much, if anything.

Really I would recommend having elementalist, curse weaver, demon fiend and heaven sent/heimdall. Elem is pretty much your everyday equip for daily arenas, grindfests, etc. CW for higher difficulties (particularly IWBTH/BT) Demon fiend because none of the mobs (except the gods) have a resistance to soul dmg. Means if you get a good set + nice prof, pretty much = 1 shot screen wipes all the time. HS/Heimdall for FSM of course, gotta get all them noodles (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) On that note *shameless plug* Check out my shop for all your different set needs (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) !!! Best shop EVAHThis post has been edited by (Cheater) KamuiSeph: Apr 6 2011, 20:04

Hmm, yeah, I have maxed out the lightning related abilities, and I think I'll go for Holy (to kill mind rapers) rather than fire (to take advantage of the "deep burns" thing)...
But one thing has been bugging me. I've been running into bosses (like Daleks and White Bunnehs) a fair amount in item worlds, and generally when I do, I am either out of potions, or I have been using the weaker potions in order to get some use out of them while saving my better potions for the tougher arena fights (I REALLY need them there) and the like, and I get screwed as a result.
Should I just always use my best potions and simply sell the weaker ones so the latter doesn't happen? Does whatever you tend to get from defeating those pink bosses justify the hemorrhaging of expensive potions?
A Note: I generally wtfpwn everything else in rather short order and then end up losing a 1 on 1 battle with the boss due to lack of potions/sufficienty strong potions.

Just a reminder, but Purge cost the same MP as Chain-lightning, and bosses have to be killed with their weakness, or else you'll waste potions. You can use magic missile, and hunt ET/channeling.
