QUOTE(Raidy @ Mar 13 2011, 04:49) Ranksyes, default is the highest one available to you Yeah I read that but... why would I ever choose anything other than default? It saves me the effort of manually choosing the highest rank and theres no downside to alwasys picking the highest available, is there? QUOTE((Cheater) KamuiSeph @ Mar 13 2011, 05:59) Well, first of all, get some gloves ffs. Second, get silk armor, not cotton.
I'm poor (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif). I'm working on it though. QUOTE And fire-eater suffix does not increase fire dmg, it increases your own resistance to fire spells (essentially it's fucking useless). Yeah I bought them all pretty much at once, when I was really tired, and only realized that after the fact. QUOTE Fourth, get the spell weaken. Not only will it help you boost your deprecating proficiency (which, believe me, you will need later on) it also reduces damage done to you and stops the monster affected from making critical attacks. Granted, it's not AoE, so that's a pain in the ass. But, if you weaken mini-bosses, they pretty much become regular mobs. Won't casting the weaken spell on enemies individually when I could be nuking them with AoE spells be a bad thing? I can see it being worthwhile on minibosses (if I can even recognize them when I encounter them... how can I?).... hmmm.

QUOTE(Boggyb @ Mar 13 2011, 15:02) That was a perfectly valid question. You could always risk a magic attack or two before using spirit, if you're feeling lucky. That will only work for bosses though. For legendaries that's just tough luck. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) QUOTE((Cheater) KamuiSeph @ Mar 13 2011, 15:14) You wanna tell me you can one shot a legendary with one spirit attack and at the same time, the fucker can one shot you? BS. Stop trolling. Either you are play at a low enough difficulty that you can one shot legendaries (hence, you can't be one shot yourself) or you play at a high enough difficulty (where they can one shot you) with no possible chance at one shots. Therefore, your question is a fucking troll. GTFO They say ignorance is bliss. In this case, it's just annoying. This post has been edited by hitokiri84: Mar 13 2011, 23:20

The default thingie screws up sometimes for example, my highest available rank is destined, but when I choose "default" the system picks Lord (which is 2 ranks below me). Meh. Mini-bosses have a gray outline. Bosses - orange, legendaries - red. If you can nuke 'em in 1 or 2 shots - it's not worth it. But if you need 3 or more, weakening the mini-bosses so they don't crit your face helps.

When Dual Wielding against the monsters in Ring of Blood, which is a better setup: Axe (for the bleed) in main hand and Rapier (for PA) in off hand, or Rapier in main hand and Axe in the off hand?

I'm not sure it's worth using a Rapier at all, now that PA no longer boosts Poison damage (and it seems to make very little difference to physical attacks now). Having said that, I haven't fought in the RoB recently. I don't really know what the best setup is now... The option is Level Default, not Highest Available Rank. It does what it says on the tin.

QUOTE(Fukyuu_Auron @ Mar 14 2011, 23:21) So, I just got myself some new weapons after being recommended to go for axe/rapier DW. Question one: which combination would be best? Question two: Axe mainhand? because the Bleed seems rather nice to me. [L223] Superior Prism Axe of Balance (1handed - One-handed weapon) [L25] Average Rapier of the Vampire (1handed - One-handed weapon) [L223] Fine Prism Rapier of Balance (1handed - One-handed weapon) Thanks again for your help (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) In my opinion: After considering the penalty of using higher level weapon, the Average Rapier of the Vampire is oout of picture. Although rapier give a pierce effect, axe looks better in damage and should go in main hand. This post has been edited by Nyvil: Mar 14 2011, 18:09

I just ran into a White Bunneh, marked pink, that wore me down and wtfpwnt me. Please tell me theres a reasonable chance of me running into it again (Once I've invested in weaken), so I won't turn into Captain Ahab. I MUST HAVE MY REVENGE! Also, what kind of training would you recommend investing in at this point- or should I just save up for equipment? Basically: What should I be spending my money on? 1. Meeting bosses in grindfest/IW is kinda rare (unless you are playing in high quality equipment, or higher difficulties). I have about a 30% chance to meet a boss through a 300 round run through in IW on exquisite/hard. And since there are four bosses, logically I have about a 12% chance of meeting the bunneh. Though, in higher arenas (endgame and up) you'll meet bosses for certain every last round. You can also fight them in the Ring of Blood for tokens. 2. I don't think you should be worrying about equip *that* much atm. You're relatively low lvl and very good equips won't help you that much since most of the awesome equip is high lvl, the scaled bonuses are relatively small. Stick with what you get from drops/random finds in the bazaar/shops in WTS. AVOID AUCTIONS. The things make you overbid on fucking everything >_> Training, I'd say go with scavenger for sure (increases your overall drop rate), you could invest in quartermaster/archeologist, but I would wait for the time being. Adept learner if you want to lvl up faster (and it's quite cheap compared to training other things (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) ). 3.My head exploded. FUCK THIS SHIT, FUCK THIS SHIT FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Thanks for all the advice anybody- but now that I think about it, weaken seems to only affect physical attacks, and that blasted Bunneh had a magic attack that made me very sad inside... maybe I'd be better off with Slow + an extra item slot or something?

So I hit level 60 (yay) and I have Focused Aura I. This opens up a new dynamic for me, which is one, I'm guessing, such that if I fuck it up, it will take a long time to fix.
Right now I'm a melee, with 4 Aura Points and Red, Yellow, and Green all released and at Rank I. I am saving up for level 1 Refined Aura, and plan on switching to Electric/Fire mage at some point in the future. So, which auras would be good to rank up now with that in mind? Would this be a good idea?
Deactivate Red. Green stays at Rank I for Green Winds Yellow -> Rank II Release Indigo -> Rank II Release Violet -> Rank II (at level 70)
Red looks useless apart from the Fire Rating, as does Green, so I don't see any point in ranking them up for now. Apart from the Wisdom bonus, Blue doesn't seem very appealing either.
Is it possible to eventually get all primary auras to Rank V?

If you can reach lvl 340, yes. Or donate some $$$ and get an Aura point at Tri-star and upwards.

Try get 1 point in Poison if you can afford it, slows the monster's SP regen rate. 1 point Slow's also pretty good. Just have to watch out when the red bar goes above 50%. I switched when I had enough AP to max the first spell tiers for 2 elements (fire+elec), mainly so you can alternate between them when the mobs are resistant to one or the other. A couple of mobs are resistant to both though (Manthra, Blue Slime (use fire)).

Is Arcane Focus worth 5 ability points? It's seem to use a lot of mp to cast too.

Arcane focus lasts over 100 turns even with low supportive proficiencies. Even though it cost much, you don't have to recast it often and like Rei Tenshi said you can simply cast it with channeling
