For reference, I got this force shield for 50k at a gc00018 auction. My 1H-set rapier is an ethereal rapier of balance from my DW set (good ethereal rapiers of slaughter are really expensive).

i'm searching too but my two cents is that aside from the highest block chance possible it should balance missing qualities from your amor...

[edit] force shield of the barrier would be undoubtly useful, but according to wiki they doesn't exist...

Warding and protection are highly sought after. Crushing is also good if you're heavy, and Piercing is good if you're light. But frankly just look at the stats, high block is the universal priority. Everything else depends on each person. I for instance look at str and interference, but others will have different idea.

Yes, some, if only for the cheap boost to your Spirit Points.

This question is to the high level 1H-ers out there, in particular Colman and Cats Lover.

Have you tried IWBTH Grindfest with 1H? How viable is it? If yes then how far can you go? How long does each run take? How is the drop (crystal/equip/artifact)?

I have only tried PF fest.
Can only reach 300 rounds.
The average equipment drop is good.

No because as a mage you don't use spirit stance and it makes your spirit recovery (as a % of total amount) less (both spirit shield and spark of life are based of your maximum base spirit). That being said if you take 1 point out of int and get 100 points in str, you won't see a big difference. Edit: I want to stress that the difference in actual effectiveness is extremely minor so if you raise it just so you get a bigger number it is completely fine.

Did some IW for malkatmp, and got one overpower.... Now I am curious, does overpower help in 1H? I would imagine it does since adds to 'counter-parry,' increasing chances for counter-attack. Is that wrong or right? In any case, overpower sucks for 2H.

With overwhelming strike bonus (50% acc bonus 100% counter-parry at max stack) and high stun rate, you will pretty much never miss an attack. So counter-parry is worthless for 1H

yup, a dude just bid 8m on a Mag rapier slaughter within the first 10mins of the auction. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

i guess i'll just have to settle for something average or get "really lucky".

Well that rapier has 4PAB, MMax base ADB, lv5. butcher, PMax Parry, and hallowed prefix, so it's pretty good.

Feeling so tempted to bid for that myself, though I might just jump on the axe bandwagon, seeing as axes are getting cheap (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

The 4PAB is nice and all, but ADB is really ExqMax, not MMax.
