BTW speaking of enjoyabe setup, I think the Battle Mage (or Magic Melee, whatever it's called) is the best for me.
It's really fun to play with Hallowed 1H of Battlecaster + Buckler of Battlecaster + Heimdall gears.
Hallowed DW of Battlecaster + Heimdall gears, as well.
I should stick to Nintendo- difficulty with it, but who cares? The most important thing is that it's really enjoyable to me. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

How do you work out what the base stats of an equipment are if it has bindings on it, seeing as its not linear anymore?

At 2 hits to kill a mob, I'm pretty sure Axe is the winner. More than 4 hits to kill a mob, rapier wins out. In between, it depends on your total attack power from your armor to figure out which one is better. Like Colman said, as you get more attack power from your armor, the difference between axe and rapier diminishes making PA more useful.

So if you use full power slaughter, rapier is probably better... unless that extra boost really helps you start to one-hit-kill a lot of mobs. If you use full shade, axe is probably better as the attack difference is more noticeable.

IMO, rapier is better for power slaughter because of the parry. It's the reason why I can T&T with <10 heals with rapier and 60 heals with axe.

My usual strategy with rapier is to hit low hp monsters until they get 1-2 stack PA then start focusing on the higher hp monsters. When I finish with them. almost everything else is already killed by counter. Axe could do the same with bleed, but it's slower :/

Just want to ask again, for mages, at what level did it become comfortable to play on hell difficulty or higher? Or is it a matter with equipment?

I think it may be 225+ lvl because of Imperil with 2 targets and 1 cooldown. You have only 5 level to go. Cheer up! (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
And you can use Imperil with 3 targets and no cooldown at 310 lvl. The great development to mages.

Don't overestimate the damage output from counters. It's good in Hellfest, where a counter on the same monster I targeted help me one-shot often, but not on high difficulty arena/IW. Stunned mob cannot do damage and cannot evade/parry, so you can focus on an otherwise a pain in the ass monster with ease. Basically, I tried to attack monster '0'. The 10th monster, despite its id being "mkey_0" is actually numbered 10. '0' indicates non-target (for non-targeting spell/toggle and such). There's really no way to do this unless you do with a post request (submit form/ajax) So there's no "beating dead horse" because there's no "horse" to begin with. It's also fun to note that this isn't limited by the "4 action/s" throttle (since it isn't an action, I didn't even get a counter in (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) ). I went through those 100 turns in 5s (mainly due to internet loading). O.o

There's no turn 109 because I didn't copy it down (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

On other note, my PFUDOR T&T clearing time jumps down from 40m to 25mins with the scripts (throttled at 4 actions/2s). It gets to 20mins when I'm willing to beat a few "dead horses" (throttled at 8actions/2s) xD

If the counter-attack still work, I think it may be OP, escpecially on low difficulty. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

Just out of curiosity, what if attack a monster whose id is 'mkey_9' while there are only 8 monsters?
Would it work for 100 turns / 5s, as well?

Hmm very interesting, attacking a dead monster ("Beating the dead horses") will still trigger counter

i don't see how it could be possible?

but i just remember talking to someone about what-not and him saying "well, good luck, coz there's only X number in existence" and i thought "well how could you know that" it's probably just speculation?

Actually, the idea (not what he's asking, but filtering item by name) has already been implemented in ctxl's Mini Shop Helper (find that out like 2 days after I release <.< ). The only difference is that my script also works for MoogleMail (that's the reason I wrote the script the 1st place...) , Inventory, and Battle Items. (Mini Shop Helper only works with Forge and Equipment shop) and regexp support
