If you have an above average katana that's been leveled to the MAX, you'll probably have invested nearly 1,000,000 credits into it. You are just going to up and toss this away because of something that's shiny and new? Few judiciously placed upgrades in the Forge should bring the existing equipment up to par to anything (of equal level) that drops new.
My point, if you already have an outstanding katana,, why should a slight improvement made by the system suddenly make that equipment obsolete? The keyword being 'slight'...
That's how the people with enough credits roll though, you can compensate by putting a few bindings into it, but it'll never have the better stats when fully forged and leveled.
I do agree in a way, it is one heck of an expense for a few extra %, and I certainly won't chuck away my old katana for the time being,
I'm still looking for some better power of slaughter pieces.
Once your equipment can
barely get any better however, switching over to a new one is the only option left.

I'm currently training a few monsters as sustainable sources of HG materials.
So far I know PL500 is the minimum for HG gift appear.
Then, how is the chance of HG? Is it same as the old linear scaling (1% per 10PL)?
Any recommended PL?
As low as possible (IMG:[

just make a ton of low PL ones and hope they give you a binding once in awhile,
in fact I've received a binding of slaughter just a little while ago from my PL50 monster.
Don't want to put another dent in my credit income though so I'm not leveling them as much.
