Hi, I'd like to ask what does reforging do and why it would be beneficiary to make an equipment forget its experience and unlocked potencies.

Because the potencies the equipment got suck, and you want another try at getting better ones.

Right now I'm about to be lvl70 and still cannot find any superior (or above) drops.
How many time do I have to train Quartermaster/LOTD until superior become common drops ?
hope that 40k credits would be enough.

so by the wording from the wiki, does it mean that let's say i had a 3 PAB equipment levelled by IW became a 4 PAB or 5 PAB through potencies, does that mean that when I reforge this equipment and remove the potencies, it becomes a 4/5 PAB equipment.

And another question, when you do choose to keep the potencies by reforging, does it ensure that you get a higher value for the same potencies or it has a chance to give you a lower value too?

Marvin666: Generally, what PK said. It can vary a bit(89 to even above 100 rounds, depending on quality hijinks). For example, most equips go to level 1 in single heroic run - but not my staff.

zen_zen: Took little more than 3 hours for each one in full at the time. The drops were crap, so the only worthwhile thing you got that way was artifacts and PXP.

Pillowgirl: I very much doubt that. The highest I ever reached was heroic, and more importantly although I could do hard at 170+, it took too long.

@Deldalus: to get high-quality equipment, you must grind a lot of rounds on high difficulties. LOTD is a multiplier on the quality round provides you, it won't help (much) on normal. At that point, I recommend you to instead level up fast(with high-difficulty hourly encounters) to get access to more arenas for credits to buy equips with.

@Dreytus: Amnesia shards reset ALL. All existing potencies, all PABs gained through IW, FOOF.

Oh, sorry for that, I definitely saw wrong on this one:

so it says that its via Forging not through IW, my bad (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I don't think it's possible to forge PABs and stats added as potencies anymore, anyway.

Since I now have the PA proc, is it safe to assume I no longer need Better & Faster Imperil?

I want to ask all the mages ( especially Holy Spells proficient )

Is this equip good ?, please consider its damage, accuracy, spell crit damage, physical mit,, etc etc,

I have a question about proficiency and monster level scaling.

I'm currently level 234, if I maxed my elemental potency I would have
234 + 43 effective elemental proficiency with my current phase gear and staff
277 + 240 = 517 elemental approximately with full gossamer gear

prof_factor = (prof - monsterlevel) / monsterlevel

On normal (assuming monster level 234) the prof factor for counter resist and specific mitigation would be 0.18 with current gear and 1 with gossamer gear

On IWBTH (potentially monster level 234 + 100?) the prof factor for counter-resist and specific mitigation would be 0 with my current gear and 0.54 with gossamer gear.

Thats like potentially a 5-50% damage bonus depending on the monsters specific mitigation on IWBTH. At high levels like 400+ it might be worth trading some EDB for proficiency for farming normal maybe?? It just seems a bit disappointing unless I am working it out wrong.

depend on you , if you have any ability that more urgent to upgrade than reset it (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Imperil is guaranteed to take effect and you don't need an attack to do it; PA needs an attack, then only procs if your off-hand strikes and through it's proc chance.

Thankfully, imperil can be more powerful for 1h/DW if you have enough elemental strikes. But more importantly, PA may need an attack but you'd attack anyway so you're not wasting a turn not attacking; furthermore, it doesn't cost mana to use and last but not least, you're forgetting crits auto-proc. 25% proc chance is nice, but you can very well have over 40% crit. Oh and you can get pretty close to 100% off-hand anyway.

I do get some evade and resist, but very rarely on imperil. Usually it's silence not working

Are good meele weapons dropping less now? They're all so more more expensive than I remember.
