No idea. Being able to tell from PXP whether or not you'll get an HG material is news to me; care to elaborate? I just lazily salvage nearly every exquisite+ item and my HG rate is about 20%.

i think lvl 32x is the lowest equipment lvl chance for HG items ( for me )

Yeah, it was news to me as well. But I read it somewhere - quite possibly on this very thread. I just salvaged an Exquisite Cotton (PXP 320), and got a HG cloth.

When I tried an Exquisite Plate (also PXP 320), I got a MG metals.

So I suspect the cut-off is very near that range (320 - 330).

Nevermind, I found HV equipment comparison and magic scores.

I've actually gotten a hg from a /315 superior before. So the cut-off rate for hg is lower than you think, it's just extremely unlikely. Really any exquisite above 320 has semi-decent odds of returning a hg these days. Above 330 and you have really good odds, above 340 is a guarantee these days, imo.

ahenayau or somebody with a good heavy set & 2h weapon : could you post (or PM me) you gear and weapon for reference how far behind I'm with gear ? My last post regarding clearing at least 50 rounds of IWBTH was ignored (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif).

BTW is there much difference between Ethereal weapon and Hollowforged (except burden and interface)?

Just the Burden/Interference. Depending on your setup that Burden might gimp your crit something terrible. Otherwise there is no difference.

I read it recently as well, on PK678353's user talk page if I recall correctly. But being >300 doesn't "guarantee" a HG mat, unless forge exp changes salvage rates. I've salvaged a few since I read that and gotten lots of MG, no HG.

actually 300 PXP doesn't even guarantee a MG mat.
for a decent/good chance of an HG you need around 330+

From all the salvaging i've done so far it seems like the range is around there:
pxp 000-265 = default failure
pxp 266-288 Low-grade
pxp 289-313 Mid-grade
pxp 314-340+ High-grade

Superiors do give HG but pretty much only the very high end one's with 314-316 pxp,
and even then the chances are only like 10% at best or less
usually 330+ gets me an HG, although only like 40% of the time, the other 60% being either MG or LG
