I asked this question a while back and never got an answer,

but on IWTBH, how much HP is FSM going to have? and how hard is he going to be to kill (and how hard is he going to hit me for?) Or should I try it on FSM on BT/Nintendo or even Nightmare/Hell before trying to go to IWTBH?

Well, he had 13 million or so when I fought him today (which can check if your math is right). Hits my 38% PMI body for like 1500 after Weaken + Protection (Regen II keeps up with most of his damage output with full buffs up). If you know Imperil, use it, knocking off 25% PMI will do useful things for you (though not nearly the batshit crazy things like 20x improvement it nets me by cutting his absurd Cold Mitigation down to size).

I honestly have no idea whether your MP can hold for that long (it probably can with Focus spam). I also have no idea whether your sanity can. I'm starting to get annoyed enough at taking 300 rounds to look into a Heimdall set, and I'm already doing 40000 damage a round. He's not particularly dangerous to a melee with SS, Absorb and Weaken running, but he does have a shitload of health and might take a very long time to kill if your damage is low and you lack PA. Fortunately, 90% of the fight will be holding down 1 and watching your buff counters.

lol, but seriously, at this point it is just going to take a long time to do it but no problem doing it as long as you have SOL, SS, and Silence going the whole time. PA is good, DW is good, 2H is bad and 1H is okay, I always liked taking out FSM with 25% health remaining with the 1h ability.

SoL, SS and Silence is kind of overkill, since they all serve the same purpose of making sure he doesn't OHKO you with Puff of Logic or Sudden Outbreak of Common Sense. I just use SS (with SoL on IA), but Silence + SoL may be better for Mace, since the fight will go much longer and he'll get more chances to chunk SS (I usually end the fight at about 50% SP).

Base stat.

+1% base stat, and since the total damage is calculated multiplicatively it's the same as saying the total stat is increased by 1%.

with low profs. Rule of the thumb if not using oak: Gossamer has to be at least tier higher than phase for it to be worth it, and exquisite elemental phase....well, hard to sell for more than 50k.

@Malenk: small addition: it only multiplies the base roll without quality bonus included. So an estoc with 100 WD won't do double damage of same estoc with 0.

nope
proficiency roll is not even base max, actually it's 1.22 below. int is also 1.20 below base max.
there are way better superiors out there and elemental mages are not popular so unless you need it as a temp i suggest you bazaar/salvage hoping for HG or you donate it to one of the free shops.

I just did this for Nightwishman, guess I'll do it again. Gossamer can be used, and Elementalist is particularly salable since there's a market for it for newbie mages. You won't get much more than 50k out of that, since your target market would be low level mages. To get the high level mages with actual money to use Gossamer, it has to be badass Gossamer with very high Prof bonus. When I say badass, I mean SupMax+ Prof Bonus, and no flaws. Elementalist in particular since high level Elemental mages can afford to be really picky about their gear. I've turned up my nose at more Mag Niflheim than I care to count, and I'm mid-level. n125 is using full Legendary Freyr. Lement has one piece of Gossamer in the Elemental set he rents out, and it's at Leg Max Prof.

Since you've asked for a number of price checks, I'm going to link you to my talk page, which has a (slightly outdated) list of gear and rough valuation, and importantly, WHY they have that valuation. It needs updating, but since I know Tenboro is going to change Everything™ in 0.76, I'm waiting until the meta settles a bit post Mage Patch to go through and really update it.

Bleed, PA, the new PMI formula and AGI have been changes since I wrote that, and the Staff meta got thrown for a loop. The biggest change since I wrote that is that Bleed doesn't suck as badly, so Scythes and Katanas are up a bit, Estocs are up even more since they are now T2 and good ones are rarer (and PA % and Time are even more important for Estoc/Rapier). The flood of Longswords makes them somehow even less valuable. The devaluation of AGI is important for Heavy Armor, Light and Phase still cultivate it for Evade, even if we don't pay as much for it anymore. As for Staves, Katalox is still king, I undervalued high end Oak when I wrote that, Willow has been buffed, so high Willow isn't autosuck, and Redwood replaced Ebony, so Redwood is only mostly autosuck now.

mg stands for mid-grade, not magnificent. I said there's too much risk he'll get a mid-grade (especially with the low exp number).

Not from any of us. He might get it from a green newbie (and I agree it likely won't be 50k, maybe 20 if he's lucky). Honestly the 50k was a mental copy-paste from the post to Nightwishman. I forget how much needaname got from me for my starting set of Gossamer, but it was more than 5k. On the other hand, I'd just come back (was like level 50), was swimming in cash from H@H, and had been playing before the patch that made Exquisites not be stupid rare, coming back after gear stopped sucking. My brain still refuses to recognize Exquisites that aren't overtly troll as just plain bad (though it's getting there).
