QUOTE(Insania @ Jan 30 2013, 21:51) no duel-wield is awesome
@T_Shark nice duel wield set By the way, why do you use rapier of balance instead of slaugther?
76.5% offhand strikes, give or take a percent. This post has been edited by PK678353: Jan 31 2013, 04:05

I see 61% with slaugther 70% with balance Does Duel-Wield Proficiency affect offhand strike?

It's actually 77% (it rounds up (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) ). It'll be 78% once I forge it 3 more times. And yes, dual wield prof affects off-hand strike. It's capped at 50% though and the other percentage comes from half your off-hand weapons accuracy. Basically, the more often I hit with my off-hand, the faster and more often PA procs. This mainly applies to arenas where I'm trying to proc PA in the first one or two hits on every enemy. The importance of balance has even gone up with the new stacking, now you have to proc PA multiple times to get the best results. High off-hand strike combined with high crit percentage are the best ways to make sure this happens. Also, at max forge I will have 86% off-hand strike with my rapier at my level, this can only be achieved with balance. This post has been edited by T_Starrk: Jan 31 2013, 04:31

It consumes a bit of mana (cost/duration) every round, if you go below 10% mana, they will stop and you will lose the buff until you have enough mana again. Finally grinded my DW prof from 0 to 100 just for a little test, and even with two crappy weapons on each hand.. DW prof @ 100.25, Frenzied Blows hit's 1.2~1.8mill damage 2H prof @ 355.00, Great Cleave hit's 460~510k damage Saved me about 150ish+ turns, but also my drops got crappier for killing FSM faster (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Edit: will test again at max prof to see the difference, for now it looks like it can still gain another 2~3mill+ damage This post has been edited by xtech22: Jan 31 2013, 04:41

Is there a level where Monster Lab becomes worthwhile? Seems like a total credit sink.

just don't use any credit on it and it will become worthwhile,
I have spent only less than 10k on it and got some mid-grade metal to give forge my ethereal weapon. Well, it does take a long time though

More to the point, if you can have a stable of about 10 Mobs, all around PL400 or so, then you can imagine each one fetching Bindings of Slaughter, Bindings of Balance, HG mats - each of which item will fetch in the money.

I just recently managed to take out all the schoolgirl bosses in the Ring of Blood using Holy spells and wearing Heaven-Sent Gossamer. What sort of preparations should I make for the last few (Real Life, Invisible Pink Unicorn, FSM) on normal difficulty?
Real Life looks particularly troublesome with no weaknesses (spam Magic Missile? whack it with an Ethereal staff?). I'll probably wait til 150 for the Unicorn so I can use Dark spells. Tempted to just jump in and try FSM since it's weak to Holy, but I know it probably won't be that easy...

FSM on normal is really easy. Just keep maintain silence and imperil on it.

Take as many Godly Mana Potions as you can carry, cast all of your buffs, cast Weaken and Silence on FSM, and the fight shouldn't be a problem. Your success will depend on whether or not you run out of MP. Imperil and Slow will also help, but Curse-Weaving may be a factor. If you lose, then at worst you're out three Tokens of Blood and you'll know that you need to make some adjustments or upgrades. Same strategy for RL, if I remember correctly; as for IPU, yeah, wait until you get dark spells.

Thanks for the advice, I managed to down FSM. Coincidentally, this was the first fight I ever made effective use of Concussive Strike. Man that's handy when you're only fighting one enemy and need to buy some time. And it was a wake-up call too; one point in Imperil isn't going to cut it anymore, better max it out.
