Yes STR/DEX/AGI/END at your level, INT/WIS behind like you have, but you can give more points to WIS than INT. (INT don't give nothing to melee, except the fact it helps to reduce some interference)

One obvious advice is that, you need to learn to use Shield spells, spam it in arena to build supportive prof until your Shield could absorb a good amount of damage then using it constantly, not to mentioned that it will also help your Haste and Shadow veil spell which is useful at higher level. Shield will help reduce the mana used for cure by a lot, and increase your mileage in IW and GF. It's extremely useful until you reach LV 90, which its usefulness start to lower somewhat if you still stick with melee, but still useful nevertheless.

Still, I got raped in GF as well with 2-H ... How could people do it, I still have no idea. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

Mikuru is pretty tough all right... I died by her hand as well, don't feel too bad about it (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Well that explain a lot, with that burden and interference, you'll take double or triple hits, and your curative spells will be crappy, not to mention the fail deprecating spells will have.

Look for more quality gear, average at least, it's also time to trade the heavy for 4 pieces of high evade silk, and a good heavy body plate. Keep the heavy stuff for cake proposes.

Edit: Don't use a rapier of nimble in main-hand unless you can't find better, you slaughter or balance instead, keep the nimble for off-hand.

well i'm completely dependent on equipment drops. i have like.. 3 artifacts BFG, Small Nuke and Chainsaw Safety Manual. Should I sell/offer them to the shrine? Also I'll use the ability boost for Shield after it finishes :]

You could sell your artifacts to other players for 10k each then buy some nice evade silks out of players shops.

Ichy is right, the best thing a -level 100 player should do with artifacts is to sell them to another players.
I can buy the 3 artifacts if you're interested, or if you have any player you prefer to sell instead do it, but donate them now is a bad investment for you.

Hi there, remember me from a couple pages past? Well, so far I've been liking this mage thing, mostly. The problem I'm having is I'll be cruising along fine then find a monster that'll resist my spells, 3+ times in a row. Sometimes I can go up to 5 or 6 times trying to pop some slime with my magic missile to just watch those beams of mine bounce off that god modder before I manage to hit the bugger.

I'd like to know how I can avoid having these somewhat common resist combos from happening, as I'm pretty sure now my shitty luck has less to do with this than something I'm missing. not doing. Pretty sure my ATK and DEX stats have little to do with it, also.

You need an "of the focus" staff. Resists happen all the time. Don't sweat it. Use magic missle.

It's not wise to began as mage for some reasons:
-You need a huge initial investment on AP. (22 AP for elec+fire)
-You have a low MP.
-You have many resists.
-Absorb is the best friend until 50-70 levels.
-You last a lot longer if you melee, so that's the way to level up faster.

Despite this you still want to follow the mage way right now? Ok, first trade for a ebony staff, I do not recommend a destruction until many many levels after, use a focus instead.
Every point of interference reduce the magic damage by 1%, so only cloth you should use, gossamer/phase at least average, of elementalist if lucky, but if not choose with highest evade possible.
Balance your stats, I mean you the same value, sure they'll be below your level but don't worry, they will catch you later (115).

Edit: Get shield and weaken spells.

Ah, thanks. I've been looking around the wiki and couldn't find what prevents a resist, so it got annoying
not having any way to get around that problem.

I'll try to get that focus staff when I can, and I also appreciate knowing what sort of cloth gear I needed. I
had no idea that evade was that important for me. Most of the stuff I have now is mostly from drops, don't
have a whole lot to be able to go shopping for that high quality stuff right now.

You don't need cloth gear. At your level, you can get heavy and wack everyone to death with your death stick.
Evade is the same as mitigation, which is less than absorb at your level. Cloth gear just has no interference, which you want. If you can find a kevlar/dragonhide "of the battlecaster" or a low interference armor, you can wear that too. Evade is also associated with cloth pieces, which is why cmdct recommended cloth and evade.\

Edit: good way to make credits at a low level is to sell artifacts. 10k a pop. Cmdct is buying if I'm not mistaken.

Resist is you missing, so to reduce them, you need more magic accuracy.

Don't do this, Golden Sun is right, but for doing this is preferred to stick melee, since you'll waste a lot of time with the pitiful damage the staff have.

I was such a wuss I took a scroll of gods, bubblegum, flower vase and multiple soul stones to every legendary encounter. They all died before my spark proc'd ;D. Although super special spirit attack doesn't seem to do as much to the last 2 legendaries.

Sell your artifacts and invest in scavenger/archaeologist. Imo offering artifacts isn't worth it until ability points start costing a bit too much.

Sure.
-With FSM I recover in each tick of ET, the same MP cure cost.
-You have about ~30% chance to proc CM.
Having 40% ET means you have 12% to get ET, and that means each 8,3 turns.
Channeling have the same chance as CM, so you have 0.3*12%= 0.036%, but you can multiply by 3 (if the staff is 3 turn, and you always lose the first turn at least)->0.108=~9.25 rounds.

With decent equipment, and without regen II, you'll have to cast cure very often you can't recover the MP.
(Remind you 8.3+4 ET turns=12 turns)
This if you can pay all the other spells with channeling, you need, Haste,SV,regen, and silence or weaken, bewilder, absorb, spark.
That's the same reason it's impossible to do it in higher settings.

Now even considering you have good mitigation gear, using silence will make cast cure again, don't forget with staff, you don't possess any parry bonus, which is at least +10%, so it's impossible to kill FSM with silence with this tactic.


So there's only one way that's left: Good Mitigation+weaken blabla
even using weaken with since you have low action speed, and with all supportive spells, you'll cast cure, how often depends on the level at you are, and mitigation you have, but count always at least 1 cure you get ET

You need to cast 3 supportive, and 1 deprecating spells, so 4 channellings = 37 turns
-The 3 supportive spells last more, but not weaken, so you'll probably have to spend MP occasionally.
Now what remains? Oh, yes spark, bewilder, absorb occasionally, which you'll have to pay most of times, and they are a lot expensive than the rest of MP you recovered.

See now?


What's the big difference after level 150?
-Regen II, it last much more turns than than Regen, combined with my higher action speed, and with the extra HP points recovered each turn by regen II, make only to have 2 necessary spells to be always on: Regen II, Silence, and 1 occasional: Haste.
-Higher base evade and parry also helps.
-higher CM/channeling chance to proc
-Nerf which also helps a little.

Any more questions? (Remind you using normal tactic, meaning spending mana items, you use more mana items than with bleeding tactic)
