QUOTE(HaliZorat @ Apr 6 2012, 01:25) Just maxed out OC. Where should prioritize putting my AP into now?
Options: - MagNet. Slows down FSM and I think I've seen others talking about using it on the Dragons. Otherwise, I don't see myself using it that much. - X-Nerf. Solely for IWBTH hourlies. Probably the least likely path I'll take. - SoL. Cause I'm psycho and still don't have it. Still don't see why I'd use it though... - Soul & Dark spells. Because unlocking those resistance abilities cost so much damn AP.
Thoughts?
Definitely SoL. I don't even understand how you've reached 250+ without it.

- Spend most of the time on Hard/Heroic (exception: Schoolgirl arenas) - Have Spirit Shield on IA - Keep Regen up - Swing Eth Weapons like a maniac - Use Cure & Mana Potions when needed - ??? - Level 250+! Seriously though, I've never felt like I ever needed SoL outside of long arenas on high difficulties, which I don't generally do because I don't want to level up like a madman. If not having SoL just means I can't do the later arenas on Hell+, I'll accept that. The only difference I've seen between me and others is that they spend 2-4 Mana Pots on EoD-like arenas, while I generally spend 4-6, which probably just means I need to heal more because I don't have SoL as "backup".

Leveling up it's no so difficult. What's really difficult is surviving lots of rounds.

Well, since now difficulty is much more affecting the drop quality - you'll need SoL. I do all arenas from the first one to T&T on Nintendo, and SoL plus SS in the auto-cast slots are definitely required for that. I'm aware of the drop quality and difficulty thing, but even then I've never bothered with it. This is especially considering I almost always only do the first 10 arenas and then the schoolgirl arenas. First 10 on IWBTH, where SS is easily more than enough, and schoolgirl arenas where I stay on Normal, so SoL is definitely not an issue. If I were like you and went through all those arenas, yeah, I suppose I would want SoL, but given my playstyle, it's probably AP that's wasted.

Yeah if your not gonna play on Hell+, then you don't really need SoL. Especially with SS.

QUOTE(4EverLost @ Apr 5 2012, 21:30) I've got 502 agi so my action speed is 400.8 with haste? How many monsters have an action speed higher then that? or how much agi do they need for that?
Around level 330 Frith's impotent revenge has maxed action speed.

QUOTE(Azraelgt @ Apr 6 2012, 00:55) here's my stats. let me know if im doing something wrong, stat-wise Let us know what style you play, and what type of magic you prefer. What is with the 30 burden? Get some non-burden clothes, at least Gossamer. Improve your damage output with "of elementalist" (if you are casting elemental spells) or "of heavenly-sent" or "of Fenrir". Get staffs "of focus", at least 20% mana conservation

My [ i40.tinypic.com] set is gossamer and elemental the burden i think is a penalty because everything is above lvl 300 so technically i shouldnt be able to have them (rpg rule of thumb) my style is hit hard - hit fast with elements, usually the first tier of wind or electric and finish with fire or ice. have shadow veil, regen I and protection maxed, plus cure I and SoL the only debuff i have is sleep to stop the heavy hitters. yep, these are my [ i40.tinypic.com] abilities being a mage i thought that was the right thing to do.

Ok now we're getting somewhere. First of all, the burden isn't due to the level. Gossamer was changed last last patch to have no burden, so your Gossamer is just old. Also, thanks to level scaling, its better to use equipment higher than your level because the benefits just scale as if the equipment was at your level. Also, try to use elemental explosion. See this page. I can't really give you advice for when and how often to cast the spells though, since I'm only part time mage. I still can't figure out how to conserve enough mana to go through arenas and stuff. As a mage, you don't need protection. You defense is so low that the boost from protection doesn't really help. You should try to switch to a set of no burden gossamer or phase to increase your evade and rely on shadow veil. You should also get haste. The extra speed will allow you to cast more often and take less hits since you can kill them faster. Get weaken and poison and bewilder. You'll need them for legendaries and gods. Weaken is really important because it reduces their physical attack and prevents crits, which are you two biggest enemies as a mage. Bewilder reduces their magic defense (good) and prevents crits (once again good, since mages a squishy) Sleep isn't very good. The cost is high, the duration is low, and it breaks too easily to be very useful. You don't need that many exp tanks. Its just sucking AP away from HP tank, which is very important for all classes. It's absolutely essential for survival. After filling HP tank, you can put some into MP tank or EXP tank as you see fit. This post has been edited by Kaosumx: Apr 6 2012, 03:37

I see you dont have HP Tank maxed, pull points from EXP Tank. Get a point into poison, you will need to slow down Boss's magical/spirit regeneration rate so it wont fire off too often as to overwhelm you. Also invest points in Aura Slot. Your aura should be: Yellow, Green, and Blue, train Defined Aura if you got some credit to spare, the 7% bonus exp from each aura will make up for the loss from EXP Tank

@shuchan - Since your melee get protection. Very important, unless your using shade armor. And just what kind of armor are you wearing? You have 60+ interference but only 20 burden? Get some debuff spells, start with poison, weaken is ok (although silence is better once you can get it), get haste, and shadow veil since you have quite a bit of evade. Support spells are very useful. Don't dump so many points into EXP tank and MP tank at your level. Get a few points into spirit tank and OC tank.
@Charkan - If you going to go more melee instead mage (you mage proficiencies are quite high), then put more points in endurance for now, less in int, more in str, and less in dex and agi. Also, battlecaster style is bad. Your damaging spells will do suck damage and cost more. Get some better weapons that do more damage. Also, what do your ablities look like? It seems that you have few points in HP tank.

@Kaosumx I have all the HP and MP tanks. Using spells is good against large groups, I focus on damage skills cold / wind, their negative status is good. To fill the SP, I often use the skill Soul Havest. I will think carefully about your suggestion.

Got it, Thank you very much, these are great advices. I'll reset my abilities accordingly. just one question, stat wise. I'm good right? all to endurance, intelligence and wisdom, and leave strength, agility and dexterity alone.

Thank you very much!
spend some of your credits and get ability boost (in training); you can also sell any artifacts you get in WTS/WTB and use the credits from those sales. The extra ap will get you some levels of SP tank and OC boost. You need at least 110 OC to use spirit stance + shatterstrike. And more OC for longer Spirit stance for DW is a great boon. If you like the battlecaster, at the very least, you MUST put in some effort to deck yourself out in several pieces of arcanist shade. every other shade just has too high interference. And I would boost end a bit more; a bit more hp is more useful than a bit more hit% and miniscule +parry @Azraelgt hey finally gonna get some more levels? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) QUOTE just one question, stat wise. I'm good right? all to endurance, intelligence and wisdom, and leave strength, agility and dexterity alone. Agility needs to be in line w/ the others. agi = action speed + evade. dex and str should be upped whenever the cost to up the others is too high. 80% or so at least. (basically if 1 pt of something preferred (like end) will get you 4 pts on str should get str instead) Oh and definitely get some new gear. shop the wts, plenty of new gossamers to fill your needs.
