after the proficiency update, my proficiency gain super slow. I have only taking dawn for 4 months and my proficiency is lagging behind.
now i am playing regularly
i am lv 436 but have 429 elemental prof and 414 deprecating prof. usually the prof can be easily achieved at same level.
but something off. since I am 1H mage, my 1H prof already reaching 441.
is there a way to bump my lagging prof ?

OK,here's the result. Test with Arctic Club and full plate:
strike_damage1.txt ( 5.61k )
Number of downloads: 26Test with Arctic Club and 1 Niflheim phase+4 plate(about 66 more edb and 7% less attack damage):
strike_damage2_.txt ( 6.6k )
Number of downloads: 22Seems clearly that I was wrong (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/anime_cry.gif) QUOTE(BlueWaterSplash @ Nov 4 2017, 15:44) Wait that will waste your money. Just compare 1H and DW (2 weapons). I was going to do it myself but I have no RoB tokens.
Thanks for helping test, sent 200k BTW,did sssss2 count counter attack in his research? That can be a big part of total damage with 1H. Assimilator, and play more rounds everyday.Dawn gives same EXP amount to player and prof now,but battle gives 4 times EXP to prof than to player. This post has been edited by issary: Nov 4 2017, 11:45

QUOTE(Tenboro @ Aug 16 2017, 12:46) Proficiency
Proficiency experience uses the exact same formula as level experience, but you gain twice the stated number of experience, plus whatever additional bonus you get from the Assimilator proficiency training. All normal bonuses to EXP are included in proficiency EXP.
wonder what he mean with all normal, but i guess everything what boost exp also boost your % chance gain prof since same formula! after testing it with +80stamina and my prof gain was 2x, now below 80 its only 1x. so yes, your exp % gain has impact on your prof gain. Assimilator Training, either that or aim for exp perks if not allready, then you should be good.

You'll earn about 4 prof on style you use every full level(less if you take dawns or prof higher than your level, more if you have Assimilator or prof lower than your level). Earning prof is much more difficult when it's near your level than before, but also much easier when it's low.

Even at lv400+, it's still more profitable to do the highest arena's first before resorting to GrindFests. You need some Hath Perks to make PFudorFest profitable - I have Cryst V + token II

Never. At every level arena is better than fest(only old hellfest is better than arena but that's long gone). But you can go item world after arena at any point to farm more exp.(not fest, fest cost 1 stamina to enter now) This post has been edited by issary: Nov 4 2017, 19:55

QUOTE(Darber1337 @ Nov 4 2017, 17:17) From what level it is better to walk on grindfest? It's not only a matter of level, but also a matter of difficulty setting and hath perks. Basically I'd say it's pretty pointless to go Grindfest before being able to go far enough in PFUDOR difficulty and having at least the Crystarium III hath perk. The point of that mode is mostly crystals, so if you can't drop tons of crystals, it's useless.

Currently near level 300, I am grinding my DW proficiency back up to match my level. Back when I was level 245 I had grinded my 1H proficiency from zero to match my level, partially before and after the patch. I gained a good sense of how the new system feels. Because new proficiency system is based on exp, when you near your level, the grinding gets slow. The next major factor is how high is your level. If you are low level like 245, your level up is still fast, so your proficiency grinding feels okay even near your level. If you are level 300 or 500, your level up is extremely slow, so your proficiency grinding near your level will feel super slow, and it is much slower than the old way. So Tenboro increased the proficiency exp modifier to 4x, now if you use all styles they can all stay close to your level. But they will still be slightly below and lagging behind. Without assimilator, you can never catch all of them up until you cap out at level 500. In the old way, you could catch all your proficiencies up exactly to your level easily as long as you are at a reasonably high level. QUOTE(issary) Thanks for helping test, sent 200k
BTW,did sssss2 count counter attack in his research? That can be a big part of total damage with 1H. Oh, thanks! (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) He did calculations for counter attacks separately from regular attacks. He didn't try to quantify what fraction of his total damage comes from counter attacks. This post has been edited by BlueWaterSplash: Nov 4 2017, 20:57

I'd like to know aswell. And once I know I'll write a lil' something about it in the wiki. I may be wrong, but I feel like the answer is "no".

For full cure & elixirs, sure. I wonder if it affects regen. If yes, juggernaut is king.
