My old staff was 250k. Some cheap ass drops and 2 charged bought at several hundred k each. Approximately 2M forge and I could already do PF DwD in 5k turns so I would say it's not that expensive to mage SG arenas. This post has been edited by as013: Oct 15 2017, 08:28

Truly? Where does that 2M forge materials mainly go? Your current staff look amazing.

QUOTE(piyin @ Oct 15 2017, 06:09) Question: https://ehwiki.org/wiki/File:Skill_Editor.PNGWhat does the "Special" part is for? been years since i wanted to do this question, but just until today i remebered. I'm not sure, but my guess is that it's only used by The Trio & The Tree. The Tree has special ''regenerate other mobs" and The Trio each have a special "give others a buff when dead".

This is sort of placeholders Tenboro left for the future updates of MonsterLab. Originally, it was planned that monsters would get "perk/ability/proc"-system that would allow to enhance their attack with various buffs/debuffs, like poison/silence/confuse/drain-hp, but it looks like this idea was scrapped. Who knows, maybe one day Tenboro will return to this idea? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) This post has been edited by f4tal: Oct 15 2017, 10:30

I'm pretty sure that the day 10B wants to make a difficulty even higher than PFUDOR, monsters will be able to have that kind of added effects. PA on a 1H player anyone? I did the test with Cold Strike VS spike shield, and indeed it does increase the damage of the elemental strike. Cold Strike hits Flying Spaghetti Monster for 1236 cold damage. Cold Strike hits Flying Spaghetti Monster for 1639 cold damage. Cold Strike hits Flying Spaghetti Monster for 1839 cold damage. Cold Strike hits Flying Spaghetti Monster for 1722 cold damage. Cold Strike hits Flying Spaghetti Monster for 1722 cold damage. Cold Strike hits Flying Spaghetti Monster for 1207 cold damage. Cold Strike hits Flying Spaghetti Monster for 1628 cold damage. Cold Strike hits Flying Spaghetti Monster for 1192 cold damage. Cold Strike hits Flying Spaghetti Monster for 1756 cold damage. Cold Strike hits Flying Spaghetti Monster for 1421 cold damage. Cold Strike hits Flying Spaghetti Monster for 1605 cold damage. Cold Strike hits Flying Spaghetti Monster for 1538 cold damage. Flying Spaghetti Monster gains the effect Searing Skin. Cold Strike hits Flying Spaghetti Monster for 2367 cold damage. Cold Strike hits Flying Spaghetti Monster for 3095 cold damage. Cold Strike hits Flying Spaghetti Monster for 2211 cold damage. Correcting the inconsistency of the wiki right away, that mentions that only spells get the damage boost. https://ehwiki.org/wiki/Spells#Status_EffectsThis post has been edited by decondelite: Oct 15 2017, 16:18

Hey guys, I don't play much since past few years, but make it a point to log in daily for them bonuses, and an RE or two about every month. Today, right as I was closing the RE window, I noticed a prof increase message of about 144, but wasnt able to read it properly before closing, going to the profile page, I noticed I had 172.54 prof in everything! (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) For the record, I have only ever played DW with shades, with a brief stint in one handed heavy, when it first became popular. So I was wondering if it's a bug or a feature? Also, at my level, is it good enough to switch to one handed? I have some semi-decent gear for that I think. And is it still playable at all?

Yeah, that was a recent change and is just a dawn bonus you get in the first round you play after the dawn.
Yeah, your level fine for playing 1H and it is quite good playable.

Hello (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) As Uncle Stu said - it is new feature, so enjoy it. In short - when you get Dawn, you receive few EXP. After winning the very first battle after the Dawn event - part of this EXP will be converted into Proficiency Point of every class. This makes migrating to other builds easier and also helps you passively upgrade all prof. As for 1H - sure, you can play as 1H. It is ~very~ playable. If you want to create the most effective 1H build, than few things you should know: - Prefix: dark/holy prefix (if you want to kill SG faster) or fire/ice/elec/wind prefix (for regular monsters). Between these four - ice, supposed to be the best, but hard to say for sure. Ethereal is meh, because it gives you no bonuses.
- Suffix: Slaughter is best, but it may cost a lot.
- IW: Fatality & Butcher
- Stats: Parry and Attack Bonus.
- Prefix: any
- Suffix: Protection is best, but it is not that bad to use Warding too.
- IW: any
- Stats: Block
- Prefix: Savage is best, but may cost a lot, until you have enough money stay with something else
- Suffix: Slaughter is best, but may cost a lot, until you have enough money stay with something else
- IW: Juggernaut is best; for levels < 370 Capacitor is good too, on higher levels you will have lots of MP, so look for elemental mitigations instead
- Stats: Attack Bonus
- Buffs: Protection, Spirit Shield and Spark of Life (put them all in Innate Arcana). Shadow veil is useless. Haste is too, actually, but you will need it until, say, level 380.
- PABs: Invest most in STR, DEX and END, less in AGI (AGI gives you Evade, but you don't need to evade enemies attack, because 1H should counteratrack). Keep WIS as high enough as you need for your MP consumption. Invest in INT until it hits ~350, no more.
- Do not forget to learn all abilities for 1H and heavy armor.
- You can create a separate Persona for 1H (blank one!) to keep your 1H and other build separated.
This is masterplan, more or less, and you should not do all this in a single step or in one night. Think of it as "my steps for next 1xx levels" (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) Ask more questions if you need help, or if you find something confusing (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) This post has been edited by f4tal: Oct 15 2017, 21:41

QUOTE(f4tal @ Oct 15 2017, 19:52) 5. Slaughter suffixes for rapier and armor (cost a lot!) 6. Savage prefix for armor (cost a lot too!)
This is not something i would suggest as a goal at his level. Non-savage armor of protection should work just fine for him.

QUOTE(f4tal @ Oct 15 2017, 19:52) Keep WIS as high enought as you need for your MP consumption. Invest in INT until it hits ~350, no more.
Does high WIS really reduce your MP consumption? Have I been wasting my mana potions all along. Also, why do we need INT? I leave it at the 1m exp point, should be around 250 INT. This post has been edited by as013: Oct 15 2017, 20:31

I said it is masterplan - his maximum goals. Of course he should not go the auction tomorrow and buy some savage armor slaughter for 10m. I mean, "see how many MP you are wasting on your IA and spell casting - and if you have not enough MP - invest more in WIS" - this type of "consumption" QUOTE(as013 @ Oct 15 2017, 21:31) Also, why do we need INT? I leave it at the 1m exp point, should be around 250 INT. Every 5 points invested in any stats will increase your SP by 1, so raising your INT by 350 will give you +70 to base SP. Since SP is important for melee and raising INT to level 350 is not that expensive investment - one may consider it as cheap 70 SP bonus. 350 is just a good number, that lots of people using, one can also use 300 or 400 - it does not matter; the only think that matter that as long as raising INT for SP is cheap for you - you can/should do this. Also telling people about max goals, they try to reach them right away, didnt you notice all those newbies that dont soulfuse anything and wait for endgame gear? Many of the silent people still seem to consider ethereal the best on 1H. The burden/interference issue is complicated, but if you do not have a strong favoritism to a particular element, ethereal is a great choice. And you can still get the strike you want with time or luck.
Seeing how decondelite and fatal both mentioned elemental spike shields, how about we discuss and try to rank them, for each style? I think it's safe to say though, that whatever the ranking, if you have an elemental weapon you should pair it with the previous spike shield in the cycle.

They are still wrong, it doesnt matter how many they are. QUOTE(BlueWaterSplash @ Oct 15 2017, 23:43) but if you do not have a strong favoritism to a particular element, ethereal is a great choice. And you can still get the strike you want with time or luck.
Yeah, sure keep on dreaming, but getting the element you want AND the best IW, is something like win a actual lottery in RL. When you finaly got your IW after the 60th or 70th try, you wont reforge that weapon, sure as sure. This post has been edited by Uncle Stu: Oct 16 2017, 00:06

it has been done a while ago. only relevant result was that 1H is better paired with Fire. probably there's not a consensuous for the other ones. at least, for melees.

He may have really salvaged it. It's an alternative to spending amnesia shards, mainly for ethereal weapons after reaching IW10 and you want to reset the strike.
I did a rough calculation a while back and the cost to salvage and buy back may be comparable to the cost of 10 shards on a legendary weapon. On a magnificent weapon the cost to salvage will be cheaper, though I don't know if it's cheaper than 5 shards.
Draw99Gray, did you soulfuse before or after salvaging? I've been curious if salvaging forces you to soulfuse again when you buy it back.

I salvaged it and bought it back, the shop price was 40k so it was cheaper than wasting 10 amnesia shards on it (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I soulfused this rapier a month after i started the game (self-drop) And no, if you salvage a soulfused equip only you can see it, and the soulfusing remains This post has been edited by Draw99Gray: Oct 16 2017, 00:20
