Well, without getting into anything complicated at all, you could just raise the ratio. :3

QUOTE(Tenboro @ Oct 24 2009, 16:47) Honestly, there's a lot of fuzzy logic in the loot generator I'll say. I've had plenty cases where two or more pieces of equipment had the same classifications, same level, etc. where the Fine or Superior quality version was better than the Exquisite version. By a good amount, too. I've even had the same exact Exquisite piece of plate armor drop on the same day, yet one had very nice stats and the other one was fairly crappy. QUOTE(marcho @ Oct 24 2009, 16:21) by the time you're level 220 you apparently have an arena with hundreds of legendaries you can play each day, I don't really see the reason to have blood tokens be so rare any more.
At the same time, none of those trophies will ever get me anything worth replacing what I've already got. Also, the "Clear Bonus" is so laughably small for that much effort that it's not even really a reward. The real reward would be giving Tenboro more work since he would have to code a new challenge for Lv.240. I'll return the anguish of facing so many legendaries in one go by giving him more work after I beat it. You are not alone, but if you want credit that bad, you can always contribute via paypal. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

or create and seed a torrent, that's probably the easiest way to make some gp, assuming your upload speed; for the initial seed, doesn't suck

QUOTE(Tenboro @ Oct 24 2009, 21:47) Too complex, considering that the laws of random distribution will work that out by itself when the number of rolls approaches infinity.
so when it hits infinity I'll have an equal amount of both, but an infinity more tokens of healing?

QUOTE(DemonEyesBob @ Oct 24 2009, 22:52) I... don't understand what that means lol. Well, I understand that fuzzy logic part, as much as that's possible to understand (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Are you saying the decreased burden prevented anything else from getting better? No, but that it added enough to the quality rating to tip it over to the next tier.

So does the quality rating determine the equipment stats, or do the stats determine the quality rating? And if the latter, does it just count the best stat and ignore all the crap ones?
Bob: Just out of curiosity, which Estoc had the higher selling price?

All stats can be generated with a certain range of values, the higher in the range, the less likely. The quality rating is basically determined by how high it gets on that range, over all the stats. What's a bit screwy in the 0.3 generator is how the quality bonus is applied, but I've changed that stuff for 0.4.

Fine Sapphire. 1700 vs 1300.

So price doesn't reflect quality either. Or maybe that's generated randomly too...

Depends on what you consider quality. 'Fine' usually sells better than 'average', 'superior' better than 'fine', etc. But obviously just b/c something is 'fine' or 'superior' doesn't make it better than some 'average' thing. What really bugs me though is that this held true for a 26 level difference. I mean, if they were close in level I'd understand how the rng could spit that out, but 26 levels! put on a staff today and noticed due to the way effects got moved to the end of turn, ether theft proc'd monsters no longer give mana upon last hit (before the proc took effect before they died and you'd get mana, now the ether theft takes effect after they die and doesn't happen at all) so not only are they cheating bleeding death, they're not paying their ether theft mana dues :P
nevermind, the mana does get drained immediately upon when they're proc'd with the ether theft (used to have to wait a turn, so you get up front the mana you would've gotten when the monster died on last hit that you don't currently get)
on a side note, in 0.4.0, any chance of a readout on grindfest screen of how many startable grindfests and rounds left and maybe a grindfest cooldown time shown (e.g. if you're 180 rounds over limit the grindfest screen'll say something like: Grindfest Initiations Remaining: 1/100 Grindfest Rounds Remaining: -180/10000 ETA Before Next Grindfest: 540 minutes (if it's still 3 minutes per round to refill in 0.4.0(kind of slow in my opinion, 3 minutes per grindfest round might've made more sense in the 90s on dialup :P))
