QUOTE(Tenboro @ Oct 19 2009, 11:05)
- Credit gain from grindfests has been hard capped at 3000 per day (24-hour sliding window). The closer you are to the cap, the less credits each monster will drop.
Maybe it was necessary but dont you think 3000 is a bit low?

Not really, considering the other ways to obtain credits. The last stat I ran before the patch showed that 575 people had done a grindfest the previous 24 hours, and of those about 30 were above 3k. A handful was significantly above that. You were at 705C.

QUOTE(Tenboro @ Oct 19 2009, 05:47) You know, looking at the numbers I'm getting in it's possible the healing change wasn't actually necessary after all with the other changes (those patch notes were basically the order in which I made them). I've put those values back to 0.3.9 for now.
THX, may the goddess smile appon you (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Sometimes I did more than 3K C per day but, that's incidental to my real goal of farming EXP to level up my Primary Attributes and my overall Level. This change is of no importance to me. Although, not getting a special drop in over 500 Rounds of Grindfest/Arena does kinda suck. (I assume a Scroll of Swiftness and an Infusion of Storms are not Special. These are my only 2 non-pot drops over this period.) Speaking of which, what is the Special drop spectrum? Awful special drop roll to 1000 roll. In other words, what Items are classified as "Special"?

Huh, an update that effects me in absolutely no way at all, positive or negative. Since I finally hit 100 I don't grind much, and I never used the defend grind.
I believe this calls for a hearty mEH.

Tenb: I am interested about this too. I didn't get a single scroll of shielding since HV 0.3.7 and only 3-4 godly items. I have trained 15 skills in Scavenger and 7 in Luck of the draw, they were quite expensive and the rewards are just too low. Limiting what you can earn in the game is kinda weird. I know you are saying there are many ways to earn them, but there are also many people who do not have that option and by limiting the game to such ridiculous extent you are making the game for them so much harder and again taking all the fun out of it. Shouldn't it be up to them to dicide how much they can (want to) play? You might as well put a time cap on how long you can grind - the result is the same. Jus need to mention that some training cost tenths of thousands after just a few skills. This post has been edited by Lunatic2: Oct 19 2009, 18:30

Are Elixirs becoming more common, or is it just luck that I've found 3 of each in the last week? Not bragging—I'm curious if they had their special drop rate increased? They were scarcer before.

Yes, my experience is that Elixirs are more common than Godly items, they don't seem to be affected by Luck of the draw as much as everything else.

Will you, Tenboro, consider removing or at least greatly reducing the scaling Credits cost of the Reset Abilities Page in the next iteration??
If you have decided to not ever do so, why not??
(It is my belief that you could actually increase HV participation in the long run if you do. I for one would certainly be much more inclined to buy Bazaar items to change Character Class if I weren't deterred by the ever-increasing cost of performing a Reset.)
Locking back onto the subject of this Thread, I agree with the others that for me this is a pretty much neutral Update, that doesn't greatly affect me one way or the other.

QUOTE(Tenboro @ Oct 19 2009, 12:05) Maybe you should stop reseting it all the time. Won't change.
And there be that. ---- Elixirs are sort of more common, sort of less common that they used to be (this is a few patches back, not this patch). It depends on what difficulty you played on predominantly. If you played cake or easy, you find more elixirs now. normal or higher, you find less.

QUOTE(Tenboro @ Oct 19 2009, 11:05) Another set of tweaks, particularly aimed at plugging some Unintended Consequences of 0.3.9.
Misc
- The part of the thingie that processes over-time effects and makes sure they expire properly has been moved to the end of the turn. Effects should therefore show up as "expired" in the correct order in the battle log. -- Note that the only real effect of this is that heal-over-time and damage-over-time effects happen after player or monster actions instead of before, it doesn't actually change how effects work as they still last until the end of the turn they expire in.
So, now I can die after the dying enemy had its last action? Double death possible? Would it be still my lost? QUOTE(Tenboro @ Oct 19 2009, 11:05) - The credit drop formula has been modified so rare monsters drop quite a bit more while common monsters drop somewhat less.
I wish those monsters would drop at all. But it doesn't sound bad. The better monster, the better drop. Sounds fair. QUOTE(Tenboro @ Oct 19 2009, 11:05) - Credit gain from grindfests has been hard capped at 3000 per day (24-hour sliding window). I don't think that has much effection on me. I believe that I don't make 3000 a day anyway. QUOTE(Tenboro @ Oct 19 2009, 11:05) - You can no longer gain proficiency while you're using Defend or Focus, or when you're otherwise "skipping" a turn.
On really really rare occasions, I use Focus. So I don't care.

What exactly constitutes a "rare" monster -- everything that's not a normal mob? Bosses and up only?

I thought I never got armor prof while defending so I thought it is impossible, now it is truth (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Ok tested it just I was curious except sometimes double ko [I hope I will get exp anyway if that happens] almost nothing changed I tryed to proc Ether theft and it sill gives 3 ticks [You hit 1 tick , he returns 2 tick, you hit 3 tick] so I see no issue here This post has been edited by pbVeteran: Oct 19 2009, 20:27

From obsevation of about 80+ rounds i just did, this means credit drop has been more than halved, and "rare monsters" means Bosses and Legendary. Ehm, i got 18 credits for beating 5 monsters mob with mini-boss. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) Since the chance of meeting Bosses and Legendary is about 1 in 500 and surviving the encounter without preparing for it is about the same, for most people this means only that credit drop has been more than halved. Why the hell does Tenboro care if people participate or not? People don't come to the site for the H-Verse and more people participating is more people to complain about retarded things.

Does that include casting spells when you no longer have enough MP to do so, and selecting Spirit Attack before the OC meter is filled enough? I can't think of anything else that would be considered skipping. Also, was the prof gain during those skips removed because people were abusing it or something? I knew of no other way to actively (well, passively, I guess) focus on raising the Shield prof. Was that always intended to be one of the slower-increasing profs? Not really sure how much the credit changes impact me, I don't think I grind all that much or that fast, and I don't encounter anything other than normals and the occasional mini-boss anymore.

With the change, I wonder how it will affect my Arena credit gains. I will just have to wait and see later today. I'm still used to recasting at 0 turns remaining for procs though.
