The bubble gum item reference is actually earlier than Duke Nukem. Originally, it's from the movie "They Live." "Rowdy" Roddy Piper's character says, "I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass... and I'm all out of bubblegum." A great piece of cinema. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) The flower vase is a reference to the TV series "Dollhouse," where in a first-season episode a character is a sleeper agent whose activation is triggered by the phrase "There are three flowers in a vase. The third flower is <color>." If the color is green, the sleeper activates and starts attacking. If it's red, the sleeper goes back to sleep.

Tried using a 19% ether theft staff as a weapon on my melee guy today, a high ether theft % staff seems like a decent weapon choice for even a melee build, gets you lots of mana for regen :P

So sure, you can sap mana to cast Regen...because you're going to need it.

Max level? You can get more AP from the trainer and from Snowflake. Depending on your build you could always have some spare points. As a melee build even now I have 8 spare AP, and I won't be spending any more until I hit 50. If your having a hard time at the moment, try to keep clear of some of the more over the top abilities, like the sp and overcharge boost and getting every time of AoE. Try to stick with just one or 2 and you'll have spare AP in no time.

it takes about 450 ability points to max out the current known abilities; upto the lvl 200 tier, so I guess you could get every point if tenb hasn't added higher tiers yet. the current known lvl cap is 999 This post has been edited by uth: Oct 8 2009, 15:25

OK I've bout finished my personal data collection, but anyone who kills at least 3k monsters in a grind, I'd appreciate it if you would give us your drop rate info.
Total Drops: 468 from 6550 monsters (7.15% total drop chance) Artifact Drops: 1 from 6550 monsters (0.02% drop chance) Equipment Drops: 6 from 6550 monsters (0.09% drop chance) Item Drops: 461 from 6550 monsters (7.04% drop chance)
I have 20 scavenger (as of the last patch, +40% drop), so I'm bout ready to call 5% base drop rate confirmed. Any one else have any data they can add?

I think 5% is a good number for now, though it might be as high as *gasp* 6%. I'm working on figuring out how to at least get BBE to catch drop chances as priority, so we can get accurate data once that's done.
Total Drops: 434 from 7384 monsters (5.88% total drop chance) Artifact Drops: 0 from 7384 monsters (0% drop chance) Equipment Drops: 6 from 7384 monsters (0.08% drop chance) Item Drops: 428 from 7384 monsters (5.8% drop chance)
I think I have about 12 or so in Scav, not really sure and I can't check right now since I'm in the grind. Although based on my numbers, I would only have 8 from a 5% base.

lucky guy, you got an arti! :O In my 1717 round cake grindfest (1030s rounds in 0.3.7, 1030s-1717 in 0.3.8) I found 0 artis and I have: scavenger 22 luck 9 quartermaster 7 archeologist 5 can't provide any drop info since I don't use any plugins on chromium but I do know I got close to 0 godlies.

I would say that you in fact did get 0 godlies. Out of the 461 items, I got 6 Elixirs, so I'm currently guessing they have a 1% drop rate, but I'd like more data there as well. Oh yeah if anyone wants to contribute your data, I would like to know your scavenger, luck, qm and arch levels. scavenger 20 luck 8 quartermaster 3 archeologist 4 also i wasn't really paying attention, and Tenb confirmed 5% base in the thread. 95% chance for an item not to drop is an interesting way of putting it... lol. QUOTE(Tenboro @ Oct 8 2009, 01:34) And that scavenger is relatively twice as powerful (95% -> 90% instead of 90% -> 85%).

Okay, now I'm confused. I was doing my Arenas to test a new version of BBE because they have known mob sizes and lengths. And it seems it could track mob sizes and kill scores just fine without modification. Which has me completely flabbergasted, since it shouldn't be working right. I don't know what's what anymore. Nevermind, I'm an idiot and had a brain fart. The latest version of BBE does have correct item drop tracking. It was fixed when gillian updated the main client.
I have 14 Scav, 7 LotD, 2 QM, 1 Archeo.

marcho, I believe your speculatiohn is pretty accurate, as the data I have is:
Total Drops: 63 from 827 monsters (7.62% total drop chance)
Artifact Drops: 0 from 827 monsters (0% drop chance)
Equipment Drops: 0 from 827 monsters (0% drop chance)
Item Drops: 63 from 827 monsters (7.62% drop chance)
I currently have 15 scavenger, 4 LotD, 5 QM and 1 Arch.

For the record, this is my end of 3.7 through 3.8 cakefesting numbers.
Total Drops: 1108 from 535 monsters (207.1% total drop chance).
Artifacts: 0.09% of drops (1/1108) Equipment: 1.53% of drops (17/1108) (WTF!? 2%?) Items: 98.38% of drops (whatever is left / 1108)
Scavenger: 20 Luck of the Draw: 9 Quartermaster: 6 Archaeologist: 4
I'll give new numbers after I try some more with the new changes.
I'm pretty sure the monster count is fucked up somewhere. The round count is correct at 2500 (2496 or something. Just say 2500).
