Okay I slightly take back what i just said, I can do normal without HEMORRHAGING credits, but I still barely break even sometimes, and barely make credits sometimes and lose credits sometimes too.

QUOTE(Boggyb @ Sep 26 2009, 20:38) It is actually very easy to get gains from grinding. Just do it with leftover HP and MP after your hourly battle or in between arenas that can be done with little health. Your real complaint is that you cannot grind and get gains when done on an indefinite scale. You ever think that, you know, that was the point? Tenboro has the stats so knows better than we do about how difficult it really is. I mean, I can get through the first 12 arenas with little difficulty and only lose if I am stupid, greedy, or not paying attention. That tells me things are not that hard.
No, I'm not angry about not being able to grind indefinitely. I think it's good that people can't do that anymore. I'd be happy enough to get 5 or 6 rounds without dying and without using MP or items. I've been plaing on cake for grinding and normal for arenas, since I get healed after them. I guess I'll just have to stick to cake for now and increase my power tank trainer ability and the items ability. Also, my proficiencies can't get too high because of my level. I'm very high in 1-handed and heavy armour proficiency, but I still have 70 burden, which probably brings everything down quite a bit. It's just taking forever for me, and I'm also impatient. Maybe the game should be more fast-paced, as in getting more gains in less time.

How would Power Tank help? My understanding was that Power/Karma only affected number of spirit points.

Living with heavy armor interference is not an option, there is no incentive for people to use the other because the heavy armor is that you do survive.

Crazily enough, people can actually survive as a tank without using a full set of heavy. I just made the transition from using a full set of heavy to a full set of light. I think I might have lost a round on Grindfest and might have to use an additional potion to beat some arenas, but I can still handle shit. My thinking was reducing interference is going to be important in procking Silence on legendaries, so I might as well make the transition long before I need to and build up proficiency in light armor.

I think the having to use another potion is the problem for most people, most people seem too stingy with potions.

Yeah, using them is a lot more valuable than selling them for piddling credits or hording them for some never to come rainy day. And I'm only talking about using a few Crude, Lesser, and Average mana pots to get through Dark Skies on a daily basis. I probably pick up just as many as I use on a daily basis, and if my supply drains a little, so be it. It is not like those are that expensive. Maybe I would be better off still using Heavy Armor, but I won't know which is better unless I try.

@Uth: I don't really use potions. I'm a draught person. Slower but more restoration (whether it be hp, mp or sp).
I have yet to try grindfest on normal with the heavy armor set I'm currently wearing (again I lost a turn of regen ;_; but for cake I don't really think it'll matter), along with a decent shield, but I can probably go on forever in cake with this - most mobs do zero damage IF they hit (20% chance of blocking with shield). Jiggle does like 40 damage. That makes me smile, since it's normally my bane.
8 7 Bukkake hits you for 0 soul damage. 8 6 Amphibious Sperm Whale casts Bukkake ... A bit later 2 9 Giant Panda hits you for 0 slashing damage. 2 8 Rabid Hamster hits you for 0 piercing damage. 2 7 You dodge the attack from Blue Slime. 2 6 Fire Fox hits you for 0 slashing damage. 2 5 You dodge the attack from Mantitcore. 2 4 Amphibious Sperm Whale hits you for 0 crushing damage. 2 3 Mutant Peacock hits you for 0 piercing damage. 2 2 Scary Ghost hits you for 0 physical damage.
That's beautiful. Too bad it's not like that on normal, but we'll see.

Well potions meant all consumables, ya Bob I'm the same way I pretty much only use draughts. The step up from cake to normal is a pretty decent increase in damage, I can endless cakefest the most I've done is 1000 rounds started at half health, less then half mana after my battletoads hourly and went on for a few hours without using any items. Although towards the end I was getting like no drops, although I think I ended up with a dozen armor drops, so not too bad even if it was all crap.

QUOTE(raitoryuulk @ Sep 27 2009, 16:54) as for me, my only trouble is that the mobs are very frequently dodging my attacks. I got my dexterity at the same number as my level, plus bonus hit chance from my short sword and gloves, but i still keep missing.
Yes, me too! I have 34 in dexterity and agility, but I collected even 15! consecutive missed chances, while the monsters were raping me...and I was in Cake, too. It's so frustrating... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) I can understand the rewarding experience for the veterans, but this is a bit (alright,2 bits or even three) too much.Ok,I'm done complaining, now I expect the flames from the veterans ("You suck!" or "You are a noob, kill yourself!" are the nicest I expect) (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) This post has been edited by Mageta: Sep 29 2009, 20:35

I mainly hate all magic attacks. I also hate saving up for training an ability. It takes so long for me to get 5000 + credits.
