I play HV to learn the interesting culture elements it contains.
There are stories behind names of trophies, BOSS, equipment suffixes, etc.
Such as Menbearpig and Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch. Get me to South Park and Monty Python. Never knew them before.
And Fenrir, Freyr. All the Gods from myths. Quite a lot to explore.
Recently Illithid, get me close to D&D. Watched Honor Among Thieves

And the same as many of us, I enjoy the feeling of getting stronger and collecting.
Not to mention the essential part, earning Credits.
