Remind me here what was the max proficiency level? I recall it being around 211 or something along thous lines. Granted this was some time ago though- Is this wrong/changed since then?

Trophies can produce cloth armor better than cotton, right? I've burned through several dozen trophies including noodly appendages and I wanted to confirm that it's just the RNG hating me.

In the past trophies would give equipment that was up to your level (or close), right? I remember getting some like that, anyway. Since equipment has changed is there any incentive (perhaps higher potency and/or a level-based bonus to the RNG) to save up trophies for later (or sell them to those who can make use of them), or should I use them? I'm also tired of getting utter trash equipment from Snowflake.

No reason to save them now. Sell the cheap trophies (such Dalek Voicebox) to the Bazaar, and then the good trophies should be used or sold to other players.

I was sure I had edited my post...

Yea, ethereal gets a random elemental strike at 10, so it can become superior IF you are lucky.
If you are unlucky it gets an inferior bonus and you wasted 10 potency levels of grinding.

For mages things are a bit different since staves don't have interference to begin with, and only the elemental weapon has a +25% EDB, the level 10 ethereal only get the melee bonus for a random elemental and not the magic bonus.

Also, I was not aware that interference and burden scaled up with your level. I thought they were constant like mana reduction.

Yea, they can. (I spent several hundred trophies on it on get a few phases).

Do we have any data on the effectiveness of % chance - turn durations of effects?

I'm just trying to find out if I will lose a lot of effective stun time if I switch from Fine Ethereal Mace of Slaughter to Exquisite Ethereal Mace of Slaughter and if yes, if the difference in damage will make up for it.

Almost impossible to tell which is better analytically because it depends on
1. accumulated chance for hitting/criting monsters over turns
2. the SP/MP bar of monsters (pretty much random)
3. comparison between damage (which again is affected by 1 and 2)

No, you just reset the time left on the regen buff, the remaining time on buff is wasted on your first potion. That is if they regen the same thing ie. mana/hp

If you're talking about mana/hp/spirit pots stacking with each other then yes since they have different buffs.
