I've been trying to develop a point distribution system that would allow you to create your own custom build in the Monster Lab, to the point of replicating the 13 standard builds. The thing is, I have reason to suspect that Tenboro didn't use a point distribution system for his builds, because no matter how I figure their stats, they just don't add up.
If each point in a stat costs one build point, each additional 25% resistance costs one build point, and every 10 power in a special ability costs one build point, these are the totals I end up with:
Arthropod: 58 Avion: 58 Beast: 58 Celestial: 68 Daimon: 60 Dragonkin: 58 Elemental: 64 Giant: 47 Humanoid: 61 Mechanoid: 62 Reptilian: 60 Sprite: 76 Undead: 58
From what I gather, the Sprite is immensely overpowered, while the Giant is extremely underpowered. Celestial is just a bit overpowered. Every other monster type has 61 points in their builds, within a margin of 3, and the mean is 58.
I originally thought that Magic-using classes were just being given more points to work with, to offset the fact that they have attacks that can be Absorbed by the player. But that doesn't explain why both Celestial and Sprite monsters, which have both physical and magical attacks, have more points than Elementals, which are confined to magical attacks only.
I cannot for the life of me figure out how Tenboro could have possibly justified the Giant having such horrendously weak special attack power. The typical (and second weakest) set of power levels for special attacks are 20, 50, and 100. The Giant nearly halves that with 10, 30, and 50. Why? Its Strength and Dexterity stats are not exceptional, and the Mechanoid, which has equal Str and one less Dex, has the typical set of power levels.
I guess my question is, why are Giants and Sprites so broken?

QUOTE(MisterLemon @ Jul 13 2012, 09:35) I guess my question is, why are Giants and Sprites so broken?
Because those stat points shouldn't be considered equal. STR/END are more important because they affect monster's normal attack (which account for 90% of those attacks) and amount of HP. That directly affects monster's survival chance and the ability to kill with normal attacks. AGI is also important because it affect the monster's speed. Quite annoying when you get hit twice in the same turn. On the other hand, DEX/INT/WIS are more focused on monster's skills. Even though those skills are powerful, they can be easily countered by spark/SP shield. Thus those stats are considered less useful. Resistance is also important if it's against dominant magic types. For example, giants are annoying because it's no weakness against holy/dark. However, sprite is weak against dark. It will also affect monster's survival chance against magic attacks from players.

Get a Gold Star (or more). enough APs for all Experience Tanks Black Aura, White Aura, Rainbow Aura some levels in Adapt Learner Now play a lot on High difficulties. With great Stamina if you can afford the additional Energy Drinks. IWBTH the first rounds of school girl arenas once you got them (LVL220+). I think that's it really.

"Power leveling" is the term used to describe the process of leveling a character as rapidly as possible with the least amount of play time.

I think it's just leveling up real fast. I did when I was level 196. Bought 4 energy drinks and played on iw on legendary weapon with max stamina. Every round give me 100k exp. kept playing til my stamina was reduced to 79. That give you about 100k * 380= 38 mil exp I played on IWTBH This post has been edited by Insania: Jul 13 2012, 20:38

That is more of a "money leveling" (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) And you cannot afford the above unless you pour a lot of real money into the game which becomes "buying victory". Yes, that. Basically, a form of min-maxing. Ignore story and roleplay and perform actions intended to maximize your level with minimum amount of time and effort. Of course, roleplay is nearly non existent in this game anyways. But there is still quite a bit you can do to optimize your powergain. Mainly in tweaking your strategy and difficulty. Hi, I just sold a single 'Low Grade Leather' and in the item shop it noted a price of 10 credits. When I sold it I got 100 credits.
I assume this is a bug, but I cound not see any thread to report bugs.
So is this a bug and should I report it elsewhere?

Not a bug, it's the new Official Item Shop Bot in action.

Why does a weapon with a 10-point-higher accuracy bonus only raise my hit chance by like 1%? No wonder people value Slaughter over Balance!
