QUOTE(mcconnellj @ Oct 19 2010, 03:36) and also does your proficiency affect the health gain and cost of cure 1
Spell cost depends only on your level. Curative proficiency should affect the amount of health restored, but we don't know how much. This post has been edited by Sayo Aisaka: Oct 19 2010, 04:41

QUOTE(cmal @ Oct 18 2010, 19:37) 0.03 is the maximum proficiency can go up. Using Cure II would also have no effect on the rate at which you would gain.
Except of course that since it costs scads more, you would gain less.

thanks for the help guys.
i have another question if you guys don't mind, i use the strategy of curing over and over to get my Proficiencies up and it turns out if you keep clicking after you run out of mana you still get armor prof too. so if you sit there clicking for hours you get up in curative and armor without any huge grind or arena battle.
my question is is there a max armor or curative Proficiencies you can earn per round in grind fest?
also is siting there clicking cure over and over considered unethical or against the rules?
thanks for all the help guys!

thanks for all the help guys! I don't think there is a max prof cap per encounter. You can farm proficiencies if you want, but I am pretty sure you will not get any improvements if you have no mana to cast spells. Some questions of my own. Is item drop affected by your level? I've noticed that now my most common drops are Greats, where in the past there were Averages. I've trained LoD to 8; would this explain it? I'd expect that high level players with even more levels of LoD have progressed beyond Greats to Superiors of Godlies as the most common drops, is this correct? Also, is there some point where you are no longer getting Lessers? Last question: does LoD affect equipment quality? This post has been edited by Red_Piotrus: Oct 19 2010, 21:25

i can see that for the curative proficiencies but after that you get armor proficiencies as long as you keep clicking. now if you do that on the first lvl of grind fest you will never have to beat the bigger stuff later on, the biggest down side is you cant get weapon proficiencies. thanks! I'm almost positive that it does. QUOTE(Red_Piotrus @ Oct 19 2010, 12:23) I've trained LoD to 8; would this explain it?
LoD helps, but it is not the main catalyst. QUOTE(Red_Piotrus @ Oct 19 2010, 12:23) I'd expect that high level players with even more levels of LoD have progressed beyond Greats to Superiors of Godlies as the most common drops, is this correct?
Yes. A majority of the drops I get are Godlies. QUOTE(Red_Piotrus @ Oct 19 2010, 12:23) Also, is there some point where you are no longer getting Lessers?
I rarely get them. QUOTE(Red_Piotrus @ Oct 19 2010, 12:23) Last question: does LoD affect equipment quality?
Yes.

I have a question about the Shrine. Does continually offering trophies for the same item type affect the quality? For example I keep offering trophies for Heavy Armor, does the number of times I keep requesting the same item type cause the Shrine to give me worse items over time? Is it better to request different items from time to time instead of requesting the same item type? Is it possible to get good equipment by offering a large number of trophies for that particular equip?

No. QUOTE(shiki666 @ Oct 20 2010, 11:13) Is it possible to get good equipment by offering a large number of trophies for that particular equip?
Possible? Yes. Probable? Absolutely not.

I'm getting a message saying that I've reached my limit for grindfests today. I've only done two in the past 24 hours. I never do more than three or four a day (usually only one, maybe two) so I should be within the limit described in the wiki. The wiki also says you can only start one grindfest battle (round, I assume) every three minutes. Could my fast rate of round completion be causing this? I can do a round in 2~3 seconds depending on how focused I am.

It shouldn't, unless you're doing some ridiculous number of rounds. Even when I did my 2400+ round grindfest (at roughly that same rate) I didn't reach the grindfest limit. I got the captcha, but could still enter a new one afaik.

It's got me stumped. My average is 700-900 rounds. I never break the thousand round mark, but I've had the captcha for weeks. If I don't grind for four days, everything should reset(?), but I'll miss the credit gains (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif)

Quick question about difficulty, does it affect something more except exp gain (and obviously the difficulty of whatever you're doing)? By something more I mean loot drop chances, equipment drop, credits earned, etc? It make sense that it would, although it does not say anything on the settings page except that it only changes the exp gain modifier... So is there something more to the difficulty setting or not?

From the wiki (particularly this page): QUOTE Q: What are the advantages of playing on harder difficulties? What are the disadvantages of playing on lower difficulties? A: Experience, credits, and the quality of item/equipment drops are dependent on the difficulty. (Item/Equipment drop rates are unaffected). Thus, playing on a higher level will result in more experience, credits, and better items/equipment while playing on lower difficulties will result in worse experience, credits, and items/equipment.

i've never actually owned a staff so bear with me
basically, they're 2H weapons with no interference and little burden, holding one allows you to inflict that Mana status thingie on top of say, searing skin, by casting a spell, and if you attack with the Staff itself while the Mana thing is up, you might trigger ET, or at least that's what i got from reading the wiki
now what i really wanna know is, are they regular weapons? i mean if you attack a monster it'll do a small amount of crushing damage or soul damage if it's ethereal, and only that one monster unlike with any other 2H right?

Anything with an Attack Damage Multiplier and Damage Type do Attack damage, numbnuts.

I've been playing for awhile and im not level 11 but i've never encountered a boss ever. My friend who played for like at day at level 5 already met a boss. Is there a way to increase the chances of me meeting a boss? or am i just really unlucky?

Cmal thinks I was wrong but I am pretty sure that last time (few weeks ago) I reseset my ability tree, I couldn't get Cure II until I checked Cure I.

That is correct. I reset my tree once because I wanted to rearrange some points. That's when I noticed you have to have Cure first.
