Its just an idea but why dont you use artsets (Monster, Weapons, Potions etc.) from the "RPG Maker"?

RPG Maker is an app to build your own RPG with all kind of graphics.

Here is an example.:

Heh, this is more a personal project, I make all the stuff from scratch because I enjoy making pixel art, and it's practice for the course I'm on in Uni, but thanks for the suggestion (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif)

From what I've been told rabid hamster refers to a Japanese lesbian on PMS. Apparently lesbians in Japan are called rodents for some reason. Dunno if this is true or not <.<...

I do want to avoid using too many anthropomorphic versions of the creatures, and most of them are references to either pop-culture, an anime or members of EH, so finding those out I should be able to come up with slighty more unique pictures for each one.

But thanks for the suggestion (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) not sure if I'll find out what cockatrice refers to, without being a cock on legs <.<
