QUOTE(Blutkaefer @ Sep 27 2009, 00:14) But then what do the heavy armor users do? Since Focus is necessary to actually use the spell, that means Silence and Weaken take 2 turns to use, then multiply that by the number of enemies in a mob.
All Plate is nearly equal to Weaken at Normal or lower.

It makes a difference though. You're slower with all plate - there's almost no chance of hitting mobs twice in one turn. Also, weaken prevents physical crits, which is pretty important.

I never use weaken on normal unless i meet a mini legendary or something its a waste of mana. Ive tried different setting but going full heavy plate or chainmail is alot better on grindfesting no matter the lvl. Oh yeah new record today went to 130 rounds of normal grindfest.
Currently trying to figure out if shield or dual which is better.
Doing arenas is another thing entirely though having a mix is the best there.

Probably dual wield, unless you find a rare kickass shield, the accuracy hit isn't worth the tiny absorption/mitigation bonus of most shields. Sure you'll get a decent block chance, but it'll take twice as long to kill regular mobs anyway since your attack and accuracy will be halved.

overwhelming strikes, which triggers reasonably often and last 3-4 turns er so, gives +50acc and +10% dmg. the damage is probably a bit lighter than an offhand weapon would give, but the acc should be as good or better.
that said, my dw prof is suck and i want to work on leveling it to see how i like it at higher levels now that i have a few good 1h weapons instead of one.

My offhand adds an extra 25 attack, an extra 30 accuracy, and 15 parry. Overwhelming strikes doesn't last 3-4 turns for me very often. It simply can't compare with having my offhand's additional stats 100% of the time. To be fair though, my dw prof is like 75, while my one-handed is like 20.

ah, yeah i have ~60 1h prof.
according to the battle buddy, when i'm using a shield i only get hit by 40% of incoming attacks, and bleed damage keeps my damage high. granted if i didn't have a nice set of bleed weapons it'd take a lot longer to kill critters, but as is i can get about 80%+ of the kill speed of dw and take a good deal less damage.

Well going shield does seem to give me about a extra 10 rounds on normal. But i think its because my off weapon really sucks compared to some ppl. If it wasnt for the high duration i woulda scrap this 1 ages ago.

My offhand: Fine Diamond Dagger of Slaughter Weapon Damage Type Slashing Attack Damage Multiplier 31.9 (23.9) Attack Accuracy Bonus 34.2 (33.1) Parry Chance 11.9 (10.4) Burden 7.2 Interference 5.4 Primary Attribute Bonuses Dexterity 2.5 (1.6) Agility 2.5 (1.6) Level 195 / Slot: 1handed / Type: One-handed weapon Question for Tenb: How much magic proficiency loss leads to a loss of turns? I have like -30.2 curative prof from my interference, and I finally lost another turn of regen (and it's made shield about useless), but I didn't appear to lose any between -0 and -25ish, and I'm having trouble mixing and matching armor to get between 25 and 30 int >_>.

You know, when I first started playing, I thought that I was wearing away the crude-ness of my armour by using them (it was actually b/c of leveling). If you're still reading the tenb, that would be an awesome implement. Maybe it'll even reveal a suffix if you polish it enough.

my offhand has a 20% block so it's quite handy. With parry and just dodging I don't get hit that much. It's good to dodge 60% of toddler guro.

Exactly what abilities and trainer abilities increase your damage? Anyone know?

physical damage?
only overcharge boost from the tree (you get half of you current overcharge in % bonus damage), and the red aura. there's also a handful of (very expensive) hath perks that improve your damage as well.

if you're referring to normal attack, each % divided by 2 of overcharge (pricey buying overcharge boost since overcharge tank prereq, you'll spend 8 ability pts for 3 tanks 5 overcharge boost for 10% more overcharge limit) is 1% more normal attack, so if you had say 210% overcharge that's like having an additional 105% damage

Spark of Life also runs off of Spirit (your burn a percentage to get res'd), so you investing in a few SP Tanks will be helpful in the long run. Also for when Tenboro finally gets in SP-using Skills. *crosses fingers for 0.4*

So, I've seen two people post exquisite quality weapons that they found recently that have no procs.
Does this mean you decided to remove the guaranteed proc on ex and higher weapons?

Slight problem going into the arena today. The start button on the available arenas are missing! (IMG:[ img.photobucket.com] http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v703/chakaw/okay.png) EDIT: Don't know what happened, but a couple of refreshes later it came back.
