Could the e-hentai devs possibly add a sort by Most Favorited / Sort by most viewed function into the advanced search?

Or is there any way to do this already?

Possibly someone will be able to recommend a script that might do what you aere after.

I asked Luna what he meant but neither of us know a way to get gallery favcount without navigating to each gallery individually, unfortunately (which would be way too hard on the servers for the information it provides).

Superlat is correct, the gallery toplist is an excellent workaround. (Please keep in mind that this doesn't mean the gallery is good because that's subjective, but popular traffic-wise because that's objective).

As far as I'm aware Toplist ratings for galleries works off of the GP they generate and larger the gallery the more GP they generate. So the gallery toplist is pretty awful way of looking at gallery popularity, it's wholly dominated by giant Game/artist Cg rips/tankoubons and big western works. It's almost impossible for doujins/single chapter works to appear in there no matter how popular they are.

What Dynellen said, pretty much. If they're driven by GP, which is in part given by the amount of hits that a gallery gets, the massive CG sets are going to completely drown out all the smaller voices. You could also have it be the case that people are checking out something because it's highly anticipated and having it turn out to be the case that it's actually a hot pile of garbage, as opposed to a sleeper that gradually gains its popularity over time.

Then again, since it's on the Never to be Added list, it's really a moot point, innit.

I stand corrected, forgot about gallery size among other things. Lack of sleep, etc. But yes, this is as good as a workaround you'll get.
