QUOTE(Tenboro @ Sep 6 2009, 11:55) Yes, also, I secretly nerfed all hit changes, drop rates, and everything else that's largely determined by luck with the RNG.
I knew it! Seriously, something about the hit chance seems off. My equips give me a +34.4% chance to hit and I still hit only about 90% of the time. I switched out of a better damaging weapon to increase my hit accuracy (something like a difference in +10% accuracy. From +10 to +20) and I STILL miss too much. That is just wrong. Wrong damn it.

Again, a paladin-equivalent build can't be done anymore, since you can't wear heavy armour and heal decently, which is what paladins do.
So all of us are pretty much stuck on the mage-warrior build.

@Tenb: what about changing equipment screen in that way: you pushing slot applies filter for items suitable for that slot. it'll make reequip more comfortable therefore searching item you need in a pile of loot
edit: wow, i think that system of manual filters will also make shopping much more comfortable

emm... do you remember that bonus from equipment just reduce your miss chance instead of adding to your base hit chance? edit:damn... doubleposting... This post has been edited by PandAGruel: Sep 6 2009, 21:41

QUOTE(JonG829 @ Sep 6 2009, 14:28) Non-boss mobs in cakefest shouldn't be able to chip me to death.
You shouldn't be able to go indefinitely against any enemy, and I think that this is trying to prevent the multi-hundred round runs as well. A pure defensive build became a bad idea when MP regeneration was introduced, though it's more feasible now that the starting MP is reduced.

Actually in pretty much every RPG I've played be it MMO or single player you are able to grind indefinitely. The catch is: you have to do it on mobs close or below your level that hardly give you exp (sounds a lot like cake to me). If you wanted to get better rewards, more exp you had to take the risk of being killed and fight stronger monsters (easy/normal/hard/.....). Nowadays even cake can easily get you killed. It's even worse now for the people that were never able to go 100's of rounds at a time before the update.

This is discrimination against heavy armor classes. We deserve the same right to dress in silly suits of metal and kill things as we please just like those fancy spellcasters in their frilly robes. =/ Is Shield/Barrier even worth it anymore for heavy armor classes? Assuming my math is correct, even when its close to your cap, the reduction would just take some of the edge off compared to the amount of damage monsters could inflict on you, even with a good set of plate.

Not sure if this is happening to everyone or just me, but the equipment/item mouseover popup is always positioned at the top of the screen. When I scroll down a list of equipments at the Bazaar, the popup is still trying to display at the top, and so I can't view the stats on anything past the first page.

I mentioned that on the last page. EDIT: Oh, and Sayo mentioned it before me. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) Btw, Tenb, I love the auto restock feature. This post has been edited by Tenseigamoon: Sep 7 2009, 00:14

pre 0.3.5 it was pretty decent, it was definitely better to use shield than to spend its mana on other things (e.g. keeping shield on and casting the occasional cure beat only casting cure)

I'm pretty okay with this. I never used a shield and wore Kevlar more than plates. Keep on truckin (though I could use a few UI fixes)

Certainly sucks for us who didn't get the good equips, who didn't do hundreds of rounds on cake (which is in a minority) before this update. Furthest I've gone is 170, which involved A LOT of luck. My average had been around a hundred rounds.

Actually, I'm one of those people and it's better for me after this update.

My Shield with 29 supportive prof deflects 8,5 dmg from Example: manticore 18ish dmg, sperm whale 35ish dmg and peacock 90ish dmg.-8,5 equals (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) You could say it is negligible. Still if you boost your proficiency faster than their dmg increases with lvl and hope that Tenb. won't inconsiderately cap the stats even further, you might get a decent shield stats in a few hundred levels. (this is not sarcasm) As for Barrier, mine now deflects 20 magic dmg out of hundreds so even thought i have that skill, i have used it just for testing and came to the conclusion that for now it is worthless. There is no problem in fighting Mini-bosses, but when you get to Bosses all you can do is run the hell away. My last encounter with Manbearpig lasted 1 round. 1 miss from me and 1 hit for 90 and 1 Global Warming for 970 from him. At that point i had 1020HP (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Barrier kinda didn't save me. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Before i could spend the mana for cure instead, but ince that has been capped from round 250 to 150 it makes me want to (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/anime_cry.gif) This post has been edited by Lunatic2: Sep 6 2009, 23:03

It was, but it's back in vanilla flavor because of the offhand proc chance. Minor bump but overall dual wielding is still good :3
